LOC Summer

I have created this layout for my next Scrapbooking Class at my LSS.  It is such a pleasure for me to be using my favourite product - Layers of Color - it is even more exciting as my LSS - Scrap n Stuff is Australia's first stockist of Layers of Color.

I could not resist the wonderful DP from Websters Pages - how could I - and jumped at the opportunity to  create a layout using some of those beach photos we have collected over the years

I have used the Layers of Color Under the Sea art stamp set - don't you just love these shells - the shape of them is just gorgeous.  I have coloured them with SU Chalks and a Blender Pen and added 3D Kindy Glitz - a beach scene has got to have shimmer!

My tag is from the Layers of Color Sent With Love art stamp set and has been popped up onto a Spellbinders Grommet Tags, what has been designed by my dear friend Nina Brackett and the sentiment is a SU Rubon (I think)

The fabulous Post is from the Spellbinders Elegant Posts also designed by Nina Brackett - you can see why I love her designs - the details are wonderful.  I have added the border using Layers of Color  Belle Brocade art stencil - stenciling is such a great way to add gorgeous pattern to your projects and cab be used in so many ways.

The script is from the Layers of Color The Love Chapter art stamp added a little touch of Belle Brocade art stencil along the edge for good measure!  LOL!

All DieCuts have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur - it is definitely my preference - so easy to wind and the lines are so crisp - the embossing it deeply etched and who doesn't love that!!

This layout is for the following challenges:
Fussy and Fancy - Springtime
Inspire me Fridays - Always Anything Goes
Paper Cutz - Anything Goes
Raise the Bar - Beah/SeaShells
Paper Romance - Summer
Creative Card Crew - Childs Play
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes plus Blog Hop

UFO Sighting....

I am happy to report that I have completed one more UFO (unfinished Object) and the pile is getting smaller - that has to be a good thing - right!?! LOL!

This card is created using that gorgeous Stampin' Up Hydrangea - it is such a divine flower, I have one growing at home, I love the old fashioned feel it has.

I inked the image with Tsukineko Versafine, inking the leaves in Spanish Moss - it is easy to use this technique on this image as it is quite a large one.  It has been layered onto a Spellbinders Floral Doily Motif, I love this DieCut and even more so because it has been designed by the wonderful Nina Brackett - that lady is amazingly talented!!  I have cut it out using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur -  I do love this DieCut machine - it cuts and embosses so easily - where were we before Spellbinders - they have changed Papercraft forever!! LOL!

The DP has been embossed with a Tim Holtz Flourish Embossing Folder and a Tim Holtz Flourish has been added - anything Tim Holtz is wonderful - right!?

Finishing off with some vintage lace
This card is for the following challenges;

It is great to be back with this weeks Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge...if your household is anything like ours, you have had an UBER chocolate overload and are now ready to settle back and get routine happening, with the odd salad thrown in - OR NOT!  LOL!

For my card this week I have used an adorable image from our weekly sponsor Shawne from Studio 313 Exclusive Designs.  I have printed this darling image three times and cut each one down to fit the sketch.

The image is coloured with SU Chalks, sponged around the edges and popped on pink card stock with foam tape.  I have lightly added some Kindy Glitz to the wings for a little bit of shimmer.

The small white satin rose, along with the swirls created using small pink pearls, a glue stick and a toothpick - challenging in its own right (LOL,) add a soft touch between the images

The gorgeous white pearl ribbon is from my dear friend Melisa - thanks Melisa, I am loving it!

Steampunked Frame

Hello everyone - it is lovely to see you - as always!  For those of you who may remember my UFO pile in my last post (you can see it here)- I am happy to show you one of the cards I have created using one of the UFOs - unfinished objects that is!  LOL!

I used this wonderful SteamPunk Frame from Delicious Doodles - I won it and 4 other divine digis in the Raise the Bar Challenge - I hae been waiting for an opportunity to use it!

I printed the image twice and cut out the cogs, inking them, popping them  up onto the original image on foam tape for that added dimension.  Corrugated card and old gold brads blend beautifully.

The hardware is from my stash and works so well with the feel of the card!

Bakers Twine is a new FAVOURITE of mine (believe me the list is long!!)  I had a little piece in my stash and am using it at every opportunity.

The sentiment and image are from Darkroom Door - a set my DH gave me for Christmas - I don't use it enough, but I am sure it will see the light of day more often after this card!

One last photo to show you the dimension - I am very happy with my first attempt at SteamPunk - a style I am going to explore more - any advice would be most welcome!

This card is for the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles - Anything Goes
Fashionista Friday - Earth Day - Recycle, Reuse or Renew - Corrugated card
Simply Create - Time to Rock the Metal
Shelly's Images - Show Us What You Got

Thanks you for visiting with me today - I hope you are enjoying the Easter break - here in Australia it is ANZAC Day, which is a public holiday both here and New Zealand.  Today we remember the ANZAC soldiers and pray for those still serving overseas

It is five day weekend for most people here.....plenty of time for those who have overindulged in treats to recover! LOL!
God bless you!

SSIC LOC Easter Cross

It is a special day today - Easter Sunday and I would like to wish you all a happy and blessed Easter!!

This week at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge we are celebrating the resurrection of Christ, along with all believer world wide.  Our hostess today is the charismatic Rebekka and she has chosen the following scripture:

"and (Jesus) said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem."
Luke 24:46-47 ESV

Our challenge from Rebekka is to create a round card.

I have used the Layers of Color Gothic Crosses and Nature Walk art stamp sets for my card.

The Nature Walk art stamp set has been stamped onto the background and coloured with SU Chalks and a Blender Pen

The Gothic Cross has been stamp, coloured with SU Chalks and inked around the edges.  It has then been cut out and popped up on foam tape and a red heart bling has been added.

This square has been turned to make a diamond and then layered onto a black Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant -what a gorgeous DieCut - it cut so beautifully with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur - it makes all the difference.

This card is for the following challenges:
Crazy for Challenges - Easter Card
Ellephantastic - Anything But Square or Rectangle
Totally Gorjuss - Bling It On
Delicious Doodles - Anything Goes
Fairy Knoll - Easter of Spring
Floweret - Easter

UFO's - Unfinished Objects!!

UFO's - we all have them.  This little pile of them is only part of what lay hidden...

on my desk - it is only small and when it started to overflow....

onto the floor I knew something had to be done - so I decided to potter in the garden!  LOL!

Of course I had a little help....some decided to eat the weeds

others tried to help clean the hutch (ewww!!!)

While others chose to sleep....

Inside others were being creative and colouring ice cube with food colouring - you can only imagine the mess...

While outside others sang to us to make the job easier...

and those UFO's...well the pile did get smaller and I will be showing you some of those over the next few days.

Thank you for visiting with me today, it is always lovely to see you!  I hope you have managed to have a great day, enjoying your friends and family and doing the things you love - hopefully that includes finishing a few UFO's of your own!!
Happy Easter to you and your family!
