Silk Moth

Today I am sharing a card I created using a leftover kit from one of my Card Design Classes - this one is from way back but I love this Silk Moth, and the Art Stencil, both from retired Layers of Color, designed by my dear friend and artist Laura Kirste

The image has been stamped onto white card using Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko Clear Embossing Powder and then a Heat Tool used.  I have used the Emboss Resist Technique to colour the Silk Moth using Memento Inks - they work so beautifully for this technique.

The sentiment is from theJustRite® Stampers Large Fancy Sentiments stamp set.  The bling is from Want2Scrap©

This card is for the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz - Happy Birthday

Live Out Loud

I have been having so much fun with the Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko Memento Inks since John At Imagine Crafts let me in on a secret - Distressing is a technique - not dependent on an ink.....

and just for the record he is so right!!  The Memento Inks work so beautifully with the Crayon Resist Technique - they have wonderful 'movement' when water in included in the technique - I love that end "splash" factor that adds those divine' watermarks!

The butterflies from the JustRite® Papercraft
 - Botanical Swirls stamp set have been stamped using StazOn - Jet Back.  I have used Memento Pear Tart, Cantelope and Tangelo for my background colours - these have been applied using Sponge Daubers.

I have also used the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine to Cut, Emboss and Stencil the
Labels Eighteen Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® and to emboss using the Holiday Magic Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities™ folders.

The sentiment has been computer generated and the pearl swirl is from Want2Scrap©

AIR Tutorial StazOn and GlazOn

It is time for my third project this month for the Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko AIR Team - the theme is Spring Fever and the choice is ours - so much to choose from, this time I am trying something new - for me anyway!

I have had fun playing with the different products that we received - for this project I am using Stazon and GlazOn, along with the fabulous metal.

Preferred Promotional Partners:

Other:  Acrylic Block, Want2Scrap bling, Metal Hardware/ Embellishments, brads x2, glue

I have started by embossing the metal using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine
and the Framed Labels Eighteen Spellbinders 3D M-Bossabilities folders.  NOTE as the metal is thicker than card and the 3D Embossing Folder has so much dimension,  I used the Pink plate along with the Raspberry plate.

Using an Ink Blushers sponge  StazOn - Mustard onto the embossed metal, then use
StazOn - Pumpkin to highlight some of the higher areas.

Highlight the embossed flowers using a Fantastix - Brush Tip and StazOn - Hydrangea Blue
and add a layer of GlazOn - Clear using the Multi-purpose Squeegee for applying.

Once the GlazOn - Clear has dried, add some Want2Scrap bling along the lower edge of the project.  I have picked out the blue and chosen bling to highlight this.

To finish off I have used some metal embellishments from my stash.  The metal tag has been attached using brads and the butterfly has been glued and also had Want2Scrap bling added.

I hope you are inspired to use StazOn and GlazOn on your projects - there are so many possibilities.  I have not decided yet what I am doing to use this project on, but will definitely come back and show you!
