Art Journal - Be Different

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  Today I am sharing another page from my Art Journal - as I have mentioned with each new page - we are all on a journey, whether it is art, faith, health or something else. I was inspired to journal when I created the Mixed Media project using some of the Spellbinders Seth Apter Collection - you can see the post HERE.

This page is very simple, starting with patterned paper adhered to the page using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner.  Lots of layers have been added but it is still not bulky - one of the reasons I love Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The inspiration for this page was inspired by the stamped Flourishes.lc elephant - which is adorable you have to admit!

A recycled tag has been covered using left over pieces of patterned paper, it has been and sponged around the edges using Imagine Memento Ink in Espresso Truffle and a ticket added to the bottom of the tag.

The elephant has been stamped and fussy cut/hand cut using scissors and popped up onto the tag.  A few stamped ink splotches using Imagine Memento Ink in Wedding Dress and a few little 'additions' from my stash.  The sentiment is from some packaging.

The bird is has been stamped using  Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and coloured using Chameleon Pens.  This has also been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors and popped up onto the Journal Page slightly overlapping onto the lower right end of the tag using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.

I just love this journal created using recycled cardboard - I have great plans for it .... hope you join me and help me 'spread my wings' in this journey!!

Love to You

Hello friends, a little change of pace today - I am sharing another upcycled card - and little bit retro and so very easy to create.  I could not let this fabulous heart go to waste, not to mention the 'funky' sentiment.

The background paper has been in my stash for so long, infact it is probably one of the first papers I ever purchased - but how perfect is it for this recycled image.  The heart has been popped up onto the card front using that has been cut/embossed using the second largest die from the Spellbinders A2 Modern Stationery Card Creator Etched Dies, using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The card base has also been cut/embossed using the largest die from the A2 Modern Stationery Card Creator Etched Dies and the Platinum Die Cutting Machine. The flower is from Kaisercraft and has a threaded button glued to the centre of the flower.

Recycling can create some amazing cards - this one was quick and easy and also very CAS (Clean And Simple) for me  - I do love this die shape - I was in the Spellbinders Office on the Design Team Retreat when they gave us a sneak peek at some coming releases - and this was one of them - it was a hit with everyone - and still is a favorite with me!

This Makes Me Smile Layout

Hello friends, it is the weekend - woohoo!  Thanks so much for stopping by I hope you are inspired by your visit! I have been working on a lot of things, but am unable to show them at this time - Design Team projects and Commissions - but all in good time!  I do have a layout to share with you - I have decided that as the 'Memory Keeper' of the family I need to document some of my own memories - and this is definitely a favourite...one of the Retreats I was so blessed to attend with Spellbinders...

I have used the paper and stickers from  Kaisercraft Kaleidascope Collection (an older Collection) - such pretty colours - makes me smile just looking at it.

The photos are some of my favourite moments and have been cut/embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities Fancy Edged Squares Etched Dies and sanded around the embossed edges using a Sanding Block - my favourite way of distressing.  The photo on the  bottom left is a Class that Stacey taught - sharing her real passion - I loved every second of it - Stacey is such a beautiful person and her passion inspiring - it has been an honour to be know as one of 'Staceys's Girls' for some of this amazing journey.  I have used stickers from the Kaisercraft Collection along with Little Birdie Crafts Handmade Embellishments - the Cactus are perfect for the Arizona based layout!

The beautiful flowers are also by Little Birdie Crafts - the Beaded Blooms and I have added some stickers to create a little journaling.  I have also added some chipboard from Prima, a handmade embellishment and the gorgeous peacock feather, which I picked up in a crazy shopping spree with the other International Ambassadors.  The chipboard is from Little Birdie Crafts - it certainly says it all - DREAM BIG - I would never have imagined that this would be part of my amazing journey - me a card maker in my little suburb - but theses things do happen...so DREAM BIG!!

Stuck with You

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by. Sometimes we are all in need of a very quick card  and today I have a 5 minute card for you - okay 10 minutes - you have to love that!  Yes it is possible - thanks to my Spellbinders Dies and Little Birdie Crafts Handmade Embellishments

The patterned paper I have used is handmade by the loveliest artist - Carol Cantrell - it really is a 'Work of Art' on it's own.  I did not want to detract from the paper, so kept it very simple.

Cut/emboss the middle set of Spellbinders Nestabilities Hemstitch Circles Etched Dies Romancing the Swirl Becca Feeken Using white card stock. The inside of the die cuts have been sponged using Imagine Memento Ink in Summer Sky using a Sponge Dauber.  The die cut has been removed and popped up onto the layered card front using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L  3D Foam Squares.  This is followed by the Little Birdie Crafts Cactus - precoloured and has it's own foam squares - ready to embellish your card - love it!

The sentiment is from the same set as the Cactus and has been popped up below the Hemstitch Circle, finishing with Blue/White Twine being wrapped around the card from and being secured through a button. Finished - there I told you it was quick!!

Little Birdie Crafts - Birthday Girl

Hello friends, thanks so much for dropping in.  We can never have too many birthday cards on hand.  I have used one of the Little Birdie Crafts newly released clear stamp sets - this adorable girl is perfect for birthday cards and many other occasions.

I have stamped both the image and the sentiment from the Birthday Wish clear stamp set onto white card stock using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. Next the image has been coloured using Chameleon Pens.  I have paper pieced the dress and balloons by stamping them on patterned paper and fussy cutting/hand cutting out using scissors and gluing them onto the co-ordinating image.

The completed image has been cut/embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities Francesca Label Etched Dies Venise Lace by Becca Feeken and the Platinum Die Cutting Machine.  Before removing the die cut I have sponged around the inside edges with Imagine Memento Ink in Angel Pink and a Sponge Dauber. Next I have used the Little Birdie Crafts Chevron Stencil and lightly sponged using Imagine Radiant Neon Electric Yellow..  Remove from the Die and Pop up onto a pre-cut card front using largest die from the Spellbinders Nestabilities Fancy Edged Rectangles Etched Dies using Chevron 12"x12 patterned paper and the Platinum Die Cutting Machine.

A Strip of patterned paper has been adhered across the card front - faux ribbon.  The die cut image has been popped up using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The sentiment has been trimmed and layered onto slightly larger black card stock, then popped up under the Die cut image also using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares. A flower from a handmade embellishment has been adhered to the right end of the sentiment.

A double seam binding bow is glued to the left of the image, followed by a Little Birdie Crafts Flower to the knot of the bow.  A coat of Imagine irRESISTibles Pico Embellishment in Shimmer has been added to the balloons and allowed to dry.
