LOC The Chicken Run

It is time to show you the last two New Release Sets from Layers of Color.  This set is called Rise & Shine art stamp set and is so much fun to work with!  I decided to use a Bird house Template and make it into a 'Chicken Run!'

I used the amazing Wood paper from McMahon Five Designs, you need to check it out it is amazing to work with - it is made from real wood and cuts like a dream - you can also use your border punches with it and it actually goes through the Cuttlebug - there are so many different timbers available - there is even cork, you can find out more about it here !!

The roof was made with a SU Scalloped Border Punch and attached to the edges.  The 'door' is made with black CS and a circle cutter.  I stamped those gorgeous chickens onto white CS and coloured them with chalks and a blender pen!  I popped the hen and one of the chicks up on dimensionals to give it more dimension.

The fence was punched with a MS punch and sponged with Distressing Ink, a length of narrow gingham ribbon which has been knotted is added across the bottom of the fence.

The flowers have been stamped with the Merci Boutique art stamp set, lightly coloured it with chalks and added Kindy Glitz to the very centre of the flowers for that extra bit of sparkle!  The image has been cut out and  added to the top of the Chicken house door.  The middle flower is from some artifical flowers that I picked up at a second hand shop - it cost me 10 cents for about 24 flowers - aren't they a perfect match for the stamped ones!?

This card is for the Something Sweet Challenge where it is all about birds....and as far as I know Chickens are birds! LOL!
It is also for the Our Creative Corner Challenge where they are counting down the Twelve Days of Christmas and we could choose any day - This is for 'Three French Hens' -  that extra chick is an 'understudy' incase one of the other chicks gets 'stage fright!' LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and for all of the encouragement you give me - it means so much to me!  God bless you
