LOC Boxed Beauty

Hello everyone, I have slowed the pace a little bit after all of the Layers of Color New Release sets - have you checked them out yet - they are fabulous - I still have a few more projects to show you, as I got carried away and made quite a few.

I thought I would show you an Altered Art project that I made for my DD1's birthday last week - remembering this is the daughter who is not 'girly girl' or a 'handmade' kind of girl!  I needed a gift box for a pendant I had made earlier and she loved, so decided I would make one...and used the Layers of Color New Release art stamp set 'Joyful Noise' - who can resist this gorgeous butterfly!!

The box was orginally a wooden cheese box and was given to me by our friend Jack, he always beings me such interesting things to work with - he is the man who have me the hymnals!!  I covered it in this gorgeous flocked DP and then added lace around the edge of the lid and added a pearl brad....nice and easy!

The butterfly is stamped on white CS and coloured with Chalks and a Blender Pen and then had Kindy Glitz added.  I made that beautiful pin with the supplies that my lovely and dear friend Sabrina (okimom2girlz) sent me a while back - thank you Sabrina- they are gorgeous and I am using them sparingly! LOL!.  It wcold not be more perfect for the body of the butterfly!  This is placed into a centre of a recycled doily and the wings popped up with a foam dot under each wing and finished off with the sentiment that has been cut out from the Joyful Noise images.....this was again simple and I am happy with the results - no more buying gift boxes for me!

As for what is going in it -  this pendant I made with the Layers of Color art stamp set Butterfly Collector!

I am happy to say she loved them both, which is such a great feeling for me, as I know handmade is not her passion, but I know that she 'feels the love' that comes with them - and there is unlimited of that - 'to the moon and back' - and then some!

Thank you for looking and for your comments - you really do make my day and I am always to thrilled to see you have been here!!  Your comments warm by heart and inspire me to try and do more, you can brng warmth to those days that aren't going as smoothy as others - and we all have those, hopefully not too many!  I just love the friendships that are formed here and continue to grow on a daily basis - God bless you all!
