SSIC Making Music

It is Sunday and that means it is time for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge.  this week our hostess is MariLynn who has chosen the following scripture:

Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. - Ephesians 5:19-20

MariLynn has challenged is to create a project that shows some element of music.  I have used a Music Sheet from an old Hymnal that was given to me as it was falling apart - perfect for card making.

I have used the Spellbinders Paper Arts Lacey Circles Nestabilities and Grommet Tags Shapeabilities, both Dies have been cut with the Grand Calibur.

I have also added some vintage lace, Want2Scrap bling and a hand crotchet rose by my dear friend Maxine.  The paper is KaiserCraft and the sentiment is from the Penny Black Social Butterfly stamp set, illustrated by my dear friend Laura Kirste Campbell.

This card is for the following challenges:

ODBD Seasons

Good morning - it is Saturday morning here for me and I am hoping to have a highly productive day, but before I 'get my craft on' I am wanting to share a quick card with you.

I needed some 'Religious' cards for the shop - that categories always makes me smile - religious really just applies to something we go 'religiously' like, cleaning our teeth - just sayin'!  I do love to create 'faith based' cards and am happy they sell well at this store too.

I naturally reached for my Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection 1 and my Spellbinders Paper Arts Dies - I have used the Parisian Motifs Shapeabilities® to cut out this sentiment, using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur.  I used the Die as a mask, sponging around the center before removing the card from it - I love this technique, it gives the illusion of another layer without adding the 'bulk'.  Makes it so much easier and less expensive for posting to someone - something I try to consider...but as someone who loves layering.....I am not always successful with this! LOL!

and added a few embellishments I had sitting on my desk - an adorable butterfly that was part of a RAK, lace and a gorgeous little flower from the Craft Queen.

Coming together very quickly, which is just as well as this month our local corner store where I sell my cards, sold 60 cards - no time for procrastinating here! LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:

Flourishing Hydrangeas

Today I am sharing a  card with you that I have just finished creating for my Card Design Class tomorrow night.

One of the ladies asked if I can show them how to create a Waterfall Card, I had to do a little 'research' and this is what I came up with.

I have a tutorial ready to show you very soon.  I was pleasantly surprised how easy is to get this cascading effect.  I have used the Hydrangea stamp set from Flourishes llc it works perfectly as you can see from the following photos showing you the various steps of the waterfall.

The images have been coloured in using SU Chalks/Pastels and had 3D Kindy Glitz added to the centres for that sparkle.

The vintage lace is from my stash and the bling is from Want2Scrap, I don't seem to be able to create a card without adding bling these days - love the stuff!

This card is for the following challenges:

With the additionof Want2Scrap bling - Swirls Finesse

SSIC Handmade

This week I am honoured to be the Hostess for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge.

I have chosen a well known scripture from Psalms:

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  Psalms 139:14

My challenge is to create a project with something handmade on it - could be a flower, stitching, patterned paper - show us your creativity!

I have used the Our Daily Bread Designs Butterly Corner Stamp, stamping it in Black StazOn and colouring the image using the Crayon Resist technique using Distressing Inks and daubers.  A second butterfly has been stamped, coloured and popped up on foam tape.  The bling is from Want2Scrap.

The sentiment on the tag is from the Our Daily Bread Designs God's Love stamp set.  You can also see the machine sewing on my tag - I don't usually sew on cards but think I just might have to get the sewing machine out a little bit more often!

I have used the Spellbinders Classic Edges Two Edgeabilities  with the Classic Decorative Inserts One  for my lacy border on both the pocket and the tag.  My Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur.

Who am I?’ I never cease to be amazed by the inward battle that so many people seems to have on an ongoing basis, this is made even more apparent to me living in a household with three teenagers and surrounded by their peers. Social Media is an amazing thing, it is also very eye opening.....

It is very clear in God's Word that our identity, who we really are comes from God - it is He who created us, who formed us in our Mother's womb and knows every fibre of our being - He gives us our true identity! Who we really are is not determined by our parents, sibling or friends, it is not something we earn or can take credit for - our identity comes from God alone.

We are God's masterpiece. We have been knitted and woven together by God. I am made by God and that makes me God's masterpiece; everyone of us is God's masterpiece because we have been made by God.

‘Who am I?’ ‘What makes me, me?’ ‘What makes me special and unique?’ ‘What gives me value and worth?  Not the right group, or how we look, no amount of popularity, or money, designer clothing, grades, physical fitness, sports, job, title, position – none of this gives me value and worth.

The answer: I am God's masterpiece fearfully and wonderfully knit together in my mother's womb, someone Jesus came for and died for.

When we understand this, then we are free to be who we are designed to be - children of the Most High God - a chosen priesthood, unique - God's Masterpiece!!

The stamp is a retired image by NinaB Designs - isn't ti adorable, this is a favourite set of mine and one I am glad I own.

The sentiment is also retired (sorry) and the paper is from My Mind's Eye.

Mulberry Roses, along with shimmered and blinged buttons
