AIR Tutorial Number 2

I am back with my 'Themed' AIR Tutorial for the month of May - the theme for the month is 'Self Portrait' - this is open to our interpretation,  I have decided to create a card - that is so 'me' in so many ways.

I am using IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Delicata™ Pigment InkIMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® VersaFine™ Archival Pigment Ink and IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye Ink

Preferred Promotional Partners:
Other:  Double sided Tape; white card;, Acrylic Block; Recycled Lace;  BEACON ADHESIVES Zip Dry Paper Glue;  Foam Adhesive tape;  Want2Scrap - Baby Bling Pearls White - 100 Count - 2.5mm, 72 Count - LeCreme Pearls - Self Adhesive

Start by inking the edges of the Penny Black®, Inc. -  awakening rubber stamp with the
IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® VersaFine™ Archival Pigment Ink - Vintage Sepia, followed by the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Delicata™ Pigment Ink - Golden Glitz in the center of the image.

\

Stamp onto white card and let the ink dry. You can see the contrast of the colours and the shimmer in the photos below.

Lightly spray the IMAGINE Crafts® GooseBumps™ Texture Spray onto white card, let it dry - drying time is fairly quick, a Heat Tool can be used.  You can see on the photo below the added texture.

Using the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye Ink - Peanut Brittle and the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Sponge Daubers™ apply the ink all over the white card - the IMAGINE Crafts® GooseBumps™ Texture Spray acts as a 'Resist' as you can see in the photo below.

Using the Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur Cutting Machine cut one Labels Twenty Nine Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® using the size five Die.
Note: Spellbinders dies are numbered from the smallest to the largest - the smallest being 1

Using the Die as a stencil sponge the inside edges using  IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye Ink - Peanut Brittle; Desert Sand and a  IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Sponge Daubers™

Cut flower using scissors and/ or a cutting knife.  I use scissors on the outside and my cutting knife for the inside cutting.  Layer the  Penny Black®, Inc. -  awakening image into the stenciled Labels Twenty Nine Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® using foam tape. Adhere these layers to the sprayed and inked card, also using foam tape.

Stamp a butterfly from the Penny Black®, Inc. - social butterfly stamp set using IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® VersaFine™ Archival Pigment Ink - Vintage Sepia, cut out and sponge the wings using the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Delicata™ Pigment Ink - Golden Glitz, adhere this is to the Penny Black®, Inc. -  awakening image

I have finished off the card by sponging around the edges of the inked card and adhering it to the card base and adding some Want2Scrap© - Baby Bling Pearls White - 100 Count - 2.5mm to the corners of the sponged Die and 72 Count - LeCreme Pearls - Self Adhesive to the center of the butterfly.

I hope you like the finished result and are inspired to pop over to Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko and see all of the wonderful products they have and check out the facebook page for inspiration that is shared there, along with more tutorials from the AIR Team

Is this card a Self Portrait?
It contains so many of the things that I love and are so me - Goosebumps - so very symbolic of the Dimension I like in my life - life is for living - on every level.  The Delicata - brings a gentle simmer that captures the eye without overwhelming and overshadowing everything around it - is representative of how I love to be around people but do not like to be in the limelight, although at first glance you may think otherwise but the more you get to know me, the more you see me for who I am.  The layers - body, soul and Spirit - all so vital in life and the sentiment - I am grateful for all I have in life, my friends and family and most importantly - my faith.  A card can tell a story without us even realising - who would have thought this card could say so much about me!

Thank you for your comments and all of the support you give me - you make blogging such an amazing place to be!! Your encouragement is such a blessing for me - it makes my day! God bless you!
