Flourishes,lc Endearing Heart Frame

Hello friends, I hope your week has been a good one - so far.  Mine has been busy - too busy in some ways but not all deadlines - I am preparing for my Mother's visit from New Zealand tomorrow night, our grandsons 2nd birthday on Thursday and his party on Saturday - which is at our home.  My Mother-in-Law and a family friend are arriving on Saturday for the party and leaving Monday morning and my Mum departs Wednesday morning and as you can imagine lots of family activities in between,  But in the meantime I have a project to share with you...a little Mixed Media!

The Flourishes,lc Endearing Rose has been stamped onto Flourishes Classic White card stock using black ink and coloured using Chameleon Pens.  It has been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors, the rose head and the leaves have been popped up, using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares inside the Florentine Frame that has been stamped onto white card stock, coloured using Chameleon Pens.  It has been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors, The layered image has been popped up onto the Harlequin background that has been stamped using Imagine Memento ink in Bamboo Leaves.

DecoArt Crackle Medium has been added to the white card stock, thickly in the corners - the thicker the paste the more crackle - within reason of course!  The cracks appears as it drys, leaving such a great effect!

Part of the sentiment has been created using stickers that have been sponged around and once stuck on had a coat of Dimensional Magic applied - such a great effect.  The Believe sentiment is metal and was originally pink, but I coloured it using a Chameleon Pen RD3 Vermilion and then sponged over it using Imagine StazOn ink in Claret.  Finishing off with a strip of recycled corrugated card stock and popping it onto a frame - the guilded gold frame worked well for the look I was wanting to achieve.

Birdie Best Wishes

Hello friends, it is Friday here - Daylight Savings has finished a few weeks ago it gets darker earlier and that means closing up and settling in for the evening - I love that time of day - but it will not be long and we will be turning on the heat.  With that in mind I am sharing a more summery card....

My card base has been cut using a Spellbinders Labels Fifty Eight Etched Die and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine - Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The background paper has been stamped using a feather stamp I picked up at Typo for 50 cents - such a cute little stamp.  I have used Imagine Memento Ink in Espresso Truffle , the feathers have been sponged the feathers using Teal Zeal ink and a sponge dauber.  This has then been cut/embossed using the same Die as the card base, just one size smaller and popped up onto the card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.

The Scribbly bird by Dina Wakley has also been stamped using Imagine Memento Ink in Espresso Truffle and coloured using preinked Sponge Daubers - I have to note here that my Sponge Daubers are always 'fully loaded', I rarely have to ink them to colour an image.  The image has then been fussy cut/ hand cut using scissors and popped up onto the layered card base.

The Penny Black Inc. sentiment has been stamped using Teal  Zeal Ink, hand cut and popped up on 3D Foam squares making sure it is tucked under the birds feet.  The dots have been added using Imagine irRESISTibles Pico Embellisher in White.

This card is linked to the following challenges:

Celebrate the Day

Hello friends - I hope you have had a lovely Easter and not overloaded on the chocolate that flows so freely at this time.  I am always grateful for a new day and Easter brings it home to me so clearly with the message of the Cross.  Today is Tuesday and the Public Holidays have come to an end - I am hoping to spend the rest of the day in The Studio with deadlines looming very close.

My card today has been created using up those leftovers from cards or kits - it gives me great satisfaction to see them come to life in another card.  The 'image' has been cut from embossed card using a Spellbinders Embossing Folder and coloured using  Imagine inks and sponge daubers - I do love this technique when using Embossing Folders - it adds such a lovely new dimension.

This has been layered into the smaller frame from the Spellbinders Romantic Roses etched DiesThe patterned paper has been cut into squares and layered onto recycled cardboard, cut to size using a Matting Die.  Each of the squares has been paper pierced by hand.  This has all been adhered to a pre-cut card base using Adhesive Sheets 4 x6 prior to cutting.

For the card base, cut/emboss using the A2 Matting Basics B, making sure to place the fold inside the cutting edge to form card base.  Pop embossed layers onto the card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: 3D Foam Squares and finish by adding some of the fabulous Want2Scrap White Pearls.

This card is linked to following challenges:
