Spellbinders - Flowers Whisper

Hello friends - thank so much for stopping in.  I hope you week has started off smoothly - it is back to school for a lot of families here in the Nations Capital this week - a time of mixed emotions for parents, especially those who have children who are just starting school, moving schools and anywhere in between.  For me, those days are past and I escape into The Studio to create.....

Today's card has been created using the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Flowers Whisper Etched Dies Good Vibes Only Collection by Stephanie Low. This is quite a large Die with the Peony measuring 11.90 x 12.80cm and the backer 12.30 x 13.20cm. It is a set of two dies which includes a flower silhouette shape and its coordinating intricate floral design.  When creating using this die, you don't need too much more on the card - it is quite a statement in itself - perfect for quick but 'WOW' cards!

I have cut/embossed the Peony using white card stock and the Backer also in white card stock.  Remove the Die cuts from the Dies and lay the Peony Die over the Backer. Lightly add some colour in the appropriate places, remove the die and 'full steam ahead' with the sponging using Imagine Radiant Neon's in Electric Yellow and Electric Coral, Memento Ink in Rhubarb Stalk and Bamboo Leaves.  When the base has been coloured to the depth you are wanting - I have added approximately 3 layers of ink to get the depth desired.

The Peony Die cut has been adhered into the Backer. This has then been popped up onto a card front that had been cut/embossed using Authentique Paper and the 6 x 6 Matting Basics A Card Creator Etched Dies #5 (#1 being the smallest) and lightly sanded  Dimension is added using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The layered card front has them been popped up onto slightly larger white card stock using 3D Foam Squares, then all layers adhered to the pre-cut yellow card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra.  Finishing with a computer generated sentiment adhered to the top right hand side of the flower using E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra.

There you have it so nice and easy - it literally took longer to choose the colours than to make the card - and you have to love that!
