Spellbinders Floral Background Tutorial

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  I have a new tutorial to share for Spellbinders using some of the new Special Moments Collection by Licensed Designer Marsia Job. In her true style Marisa brings together her signature floral designs and sentiments to help create expression through art.  What great tools we have to make beautiful cards - as you will see as you follow along with the tutorial.

'Shapeabilities Flower Background Etched Dies Special Moments Collection by Marisa Job is a set of two dies includes a rectangular outline die with a lovely floral insert die. Nest them together to create a sweet background design' - Spellbinders

1. Cut/emboss one Flower Background using both the outline and insert dies and white card stock.
2. Cut/emboss one Flower Background using the outline die only and Misty Mountain Collection patterned paper.
3. Adhere the floral front to the die cut patterned paper using glue.
4. Pop up onto a slightly larger pre-cut apricot card base using Crafty Foam Tape.

5. Cut/emboss five (5) of the smallest Textured Flowers and one (1) of the second smallest using white card stock.
6. Lightly sponge the flowers using orange ink and a sponge dauber.
7. Using the medium Stylus and a foam mat shape the back of the flowers.
8. Create one flower by layering one smaller and larger die cut with a small 3D Foam Squares in between. Glue the white pearl embellishment to the centre.
9. Create the second flower by layering two smaller die cuts with a small 3D Foam Squares in between - making sure the layers are offset.
10. Add medium White Pearls to the centre of this and the remaining flowers.

11. Adhere a 2.5cm strip of white card stock 3cm from the bottom of the card base, followed by a 2cm strip of Misty Mountains patterned paper to the white card stock.
12. Adhere a sentiment from the Misty Mountains Collection to slightly larger white card stock.
13. Adhere to the right side of the patterned strip using double sided tape.
14. Cut/emboss two (2) sets of small leaves from the Textured Flowers. Add one small 3D Foam Square behind one set of leaves, adhere behind the flower. Repeat with the smaller layered flower.
15. Pop up the larger layered flower to the left of the sentiment using a 3D foam Square
16. Pop up the smaller layered flower to the top right hand corner of the card front, with the single flowers either side.
17. Trim the Swirls Finesse to the desired lengths and adhere to both lots of flowers.

  1. What a gorgeous card - love that background with the overlaid die cut panel, and the way you have created the flowers too.
