Today I have something different to share wth you, yesterday I took time out with my family, after a busy few weeks preparing for Blog Hops and New Release Parties - we created something together as a family - and wanted to share our finished project with you!!!
Yes, we have put up our Christmas Tree - the countdown has offically begun! We have a tradition of putting up the tree in the second half of November and we have a family 'Tree Trimming Party'....the Christmas music is on, EggNog flowing, Christmas munchies....a YUMBLY display! We start the tree trimming with a special ornament that we have both had since we were married and have added to with each child's arrival....then everything goes on with lots of excited chatter and 'do you remember when....' resounding through the room....here is my special ornament, this cute angel in a glass bauble!
Lights, baubles, angels, reindeer, a great display of beauty and then we add another special ornament, we each have one with our names engraved on it and after these are placed the tree is finished but for one thing - the star on the top of the tree. Our tree goes up to the ceiling so our youngest DD climbed onto the arm of the lounge and on tip toes and with arms stretched placed the star on top - it touches the ceiling!! Finished!
This is my most beautiful creation today, I have worked on some projects but none compare with this special family project, bringing with it years of tradtion and each year creating it's own memories, building our story and celebrating His-story!!
In our house we wish Jesus' happy Birthday' on Christmas morning and celebrate the day that 'love' came down, we also enjoy the giving and sharing with friends....loving one another - what greater gift can we give God...our hearts sharing His Love with one another! I look forward to sharing in your Christmas preparations, cards and projects - as we come and put Christ back into Christmas! God bless you!
Absolutely georgeous Linda. What a wonderful tradition and you must have had soo much fun doing this...Loz
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tree Linda and even more beautiful is the way I just know your family celebrates Jesus birth together! You chose a wonderful activity for a Sunday family day and blessed us all with your words! God bless your entire advent season as you celebrate Jesus' birth!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous Linda!! Wow! I usually put ours up the day after Thanksgiving but not sure if I will even get one up this year. Plus our new parrot has her cage where our tree goes anyway. Maybe I will paste a picture up of your GORGEOUS tree in our house and use as our tree this year. LOL! :) Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteSooo beautiful, Linda! I can't wait to put up ours either...but will be waiting two more weeks...we are going to head up to the mountains in Northern AZ (away from the desert in Southern AZ) and cut our own tree!! Can't wait!!

Linda, this is such a STUNNING tree!!! Love that you actually decorated it as a family project. I am usually the one dealing with our tree ;D. See German tradition is to put up yur tree the morning of Chritmas Eve (that is when we actually exchange gifts) but since I moved to the states many years ago we have been doing it the American way, sort of :D! Growing up all we ever had was fresh trees, here we have an artificial tree. Thanks for sharing your wonderful tree!!! Hugs and blessings, Sabrina
