As you may have heard early Tuesday Morning, a fire broke out in the
home of a Spellbinders Design Team Member. Our dear Darsie Bruno, has
lost much of her possessions due to smoke, water, and fire. Her home was
trampled through as firefighters raced to extinguish the flames coming
from duplex on the other side of the wall. Smoke has penetrated her
mattresses, furniture, rugs... Her craft room was ground zero for the
activity... destroying her work and supplies.

This
tragedy has been a huge set back for them. Although they have lost many
of their material possessions, they escaped without any bodily harm.
The neighbor on the other side of the wall wasn't home when the fire
broke out. Another neighbor saw the flames and alerted Darsie and her
son, who were inside.
As a community... we're banding together
to do what we can to support Darsie. We've created a PayPal button that
allows donations to go directly to Darsie and her son. She is looking
for a new home. She'll need cash to set up utilities, to clean her
clothing, linens, and other household goods or replace that which was
lost. She'll need the funding to set up proper insurance to see that
nothing like this ever happens again. She needs our help.
If you
feel compelled to give to this cause... please simply click the button
below and you'll be able to give directly to Darsie. You'll also receive
an email receipt for your records. Let's show the crafting community
that we love and care for our own. Let's band together and get Darsie
and her son back on their feet.
Update
Kellie Fortin spoke with Darsie earlier and 'she is overwelmed by the emotional support and prayers that have been sent her way. Any donation no matter how small will help.
The outpouring of community support for Darsie has been a true blessing - you can read Darsie's post to all of you this morning here. The friendships we make in this community are amazing and this week we have been truly blessed that Darsie was not harmed in the fire and that you have been here supporting her.
Darsie found a new place to live yesterday and is so relieved that she will soon be in a new home. Many of you have mentioned that you would like to send Darsie crafting supplies or cards. If you would like to send Darsie something please contact Angela Barkhouse at agbark@roadrunner.com and she will send you Darsie's new address. I prefer not to post Darsie's new address on the web. Thank you for all your love and support.'
