Darkroom Door - Happy Birthday Wishes

Hello friends, welcome and thanks for stopping by!  You can never have too many birthday cards - I am sure you know that!!  They are the best seller in the shops that sell my cards, so I have been trying to get a few made before the next 'top ups' are due. These ones came together from those things constantly gathering on my desk - my favourite kind of card at times - being limited to what is on the desk stops me over-thinking the process....know what I mean?!?!  The fabulous sentiment is Darkroom Door - Small Stamp - Birthday.

I have also used IMAGINE Memento Inks in Tuxedo Black, Teal Zeal and Rhubarb Stalk, Little Birdie CraftsWant2ScrapKaiserCraft papersAuthentique PaperScrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra and 3D Foam Squares and Spellbinders

When the Butterfly...

Hello friends, welcome and thanks so much for stopping by!  Todays card is a quick and easy one using flowers and butterflies- you can't get lovelier than that - in my opinion!

The card front has been created using some left over pieces of patterned paper and pre-cut images from Tim Holtz - they have been popped up using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares for the perfect amount of dimension.  This card is still postable at the standard rate - even with the added dimension;something we all take into consideration these days.

The beautiful sentiment has been computer generated and adhered directly onto the card front using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner. I have finished off with a tiny plastic flower that has been glued to the butterflies body and a Want2Scrap Black Baby Bling adhered to the centre.

Keep Calm

Hello friends, welcome and thanks so much for stopping by.  I am happy to say after the crazy weather here in Australia we are enjoying a normal day with a perfect temperature of 26 Degrees Celsius . Today I have a fancy fold card to share with you - it has been created from a left over kit I used for a Workshop - I have used it quite a few times but it looks different with the products you use - today's theme is keeping calm! Wink: Wink!

I created the card base by scoring Authentique Paper at 5cm, 5cm, 3cm, 3cm and 2cm to create the different height steps - so easy to do, especially when using a good thick double sided paper.  Fold the card into mountain and valley folds to form the card base

I have stamped the images using Imagine Memento Ink in Espresso Coffee, adding background details in Cocoa ink.  I picked up these stamps when I was in Arizona with Spellbinders; they have been trimmed and adhered to the steps of the card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. The Coffee Embellishments have been cut from Canvas Corp paper.

The Little Birdie Crafts Flowers have been glued to the card base. Want2Scrap pearls have been added to the lace trim using glue.

The Song in Your Heart

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  I have another Art Journal Page to share with you today - it is my 'go to' creative zone' at the moment. As I have mentioned with each page - we are all on a journey, whether it is art, faith, health or something else.  This one was inspired by the wonderful sentiment - one that I love - sentiments are often an inspiration for me.

The eclectic sentiment has been created using a card from Quick Quotes Scrapbook Company - another one I have put aside thinking I will use it one day - I am sure we all have those - or is it just me!?! LOL! I have trimmed the sentiment into rows and inked around the edges using a black maker.

The beautiful flowers are from Tim Holtz , along with the Tim Holtz Paper Dollare part of a prize I won recently on the Simon Says Stamp Monday ChallengeThe flowers have been adhered  across the lower portion of the page, creating a half wreath, using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner.  The wonderful ladies have been popped up across the flowers using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares A few white splatters were added using White paint.

The butterfly has been added to the top left corner and a wooden embellishment glued to the centre. Details have been added to the wings and other areas of the page using a White Gel Pen and the wings have been layered up to give a little dimension using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.

I just love this journal created using recycled cardboard - I have great plans for it .... hope you join me as I continue this journey!

This project is linked to the following challenges:

Dare to Reach Out

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  As most of you would be aware there are horrendous 'apocaliptic' style fires engulfing huge parts of Australia - so many houses lost and people killed. At one point we were on alert and had bags packed and supplies ready should the call to evacuate come - thankfully it has not, but no-one can relax yet with shocking heatwave and weather conditions next week- with so many active fires still happening no-one can afford to be complacent!!  My usual way to keep myself centred is to spend time in The Studio - but each time I have sat in there I have felt nothing but emptiness - and then I started to think about the statement by Fred Rogers “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” and you only have to go as far as facebook to see the generosity of people - it is overwhelming and inspired me to create a page for my Art Journal...As I have mentioned with each page - we are all on a journey, whether it is art, faith, health or something else.

My pages have been created using recycled cardboard.  It is very simple, starting with recycled patterned paper adhered to the page using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner.  Lots of layers have been added but it is still not bulky - one of the reasons I love Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The page has been sponged around the edges using black ink.

The Tim Holtz Paper Dolls are part of a prize I won recently on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and have been adhered to the right of the layered and sponged sentiment using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner.  Older Spellbinders Die cuts and patterned paper have been used to frame the sentiment. The gorgeous crochet embellishment has been glued to the top of the sentiment and a silver embellishments  from my stash have been glued to the left side - you know the ones we put aside thinking we will use them one day - I am sure we all have those - or is it just me!?! LOL!  Want2Scrap baby bling in black rhinestones have been randomly added.

Art Journal - Grow Where You are Planted

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  I have been on a run of  Art Journaling lately - it is my wind down time in the evenings, once everyone is in bed. As I have mentioned with each page - we are all on a journey, whether it is art, faith, health or something else.  This one came together easily - I love that part of it - just feels right. I am sure as I go along that will change - but in the meantime I am enjoying the process and looking forward to learning and evolving...

The page has been sponged around the edges using white paint.

The floral image is from Uniquely Creative and has been coloured using Chameleon Pens and a white Gel Pen; next it has been Die cut with co-ordinating dies and glued to an inked panels. This has been adhered to the layered journal page. The eclectic sentiment has been created using Alphabet stickers from my stash - you know the ones we put aside thinking we will use them one day - I am sure we all have those - or is it just me!?! LOL!  The butterfly wings each side of the floral panel are on the recycled packaging and and too pretty to cover up.  Details have been added to the wings and other areas of the page using a White Gel Pen and smaller wings have been layered up to give a little dimension.

The Tim Holtz Paper Doll is part of a very generous RAK I received and has had butterfly wings adhered behind her using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner.  This has then been glued to the bottom left hand corner of the floral panel. The Texture Paste is from Little Birdie Crafts and has been used with  homemade stencil - one I cut using an Older Spellbinders Die cut and a Cereal box.  A few yellow splatters were added using Imagine sprays.

I just love this journal created using recycled cardboard - I have great plans for it .... hope you join me as I continue this journey!
