MMSC76 Purr-fect/Party Animal

Hello everyone - how has your week been - can you believe it is time for another Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - they come around so fast don't they - I know you LOVE them as much as I do!!

I have gone a little crazy this week and have not one but - three cards for you!  The first one being this divine image from our weekly Sponsor DRS Designs - check out the attitude on 'Miss Thang' here!  LOL!  How can you not LOVE her!?

I coloured her with Prismacolor Pencils and used Flowersoft for the very first time - using it on the tail and a little bit added to the chest - I do love the texture it adds - fun!

I found this cute little chain of flowers that I forgot I had  and it was perfect for the sketch!
The DP is Basic Grey and the embossing has been done with the D'vine Swirls Embossing Folder.

My next card is made using the "priscillastyles" image - as you may know Priscilla used a photo of one of our digs Charlie for this image - he is perfect for my Christmas cards this year - although IRL he would be horrified to be dressed like this!  LOL!

I coloured him with Prismacolor Pencils.  I added some chunky gold braid to the side panel, this was part of a bag of lace given to me by my friend Ann and the gorgeous DP is from  my DT Sistah Gunn - it is divine - I love all of the texture and bling - where would I be without my friends - thanks Girls!!

My final card is for the 'priscillastyles' Design Team, using Priscilla's gorgeous butterflies - it is the first time I have used this particular one - and thought I would make it look like a film strip,  The chiffon ribbon has been threaded through a pearl buckle/slider and had some bling added to it.

I have printed an extra set of the butterflies and cut out the wings on one, popping it up on foam tape - I love the dimension it gives with the butterflies.  Kindy Glitz has been added to give that extra shimmer!

These cards are for the following challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafter's - All Things known as Bling
Paper Cutz #63 - Anything Goes
Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog  - Digi and Favourite Coloring Technique (cards 2 and 3)
Inky Impressions - Anything Goes
Oh La La Creations - Nothing Floral (card 3)

That is enough from me - Please help me welcome our newestGuest Diva....

LOC What Happened?

Today is our 19th Wedding Anniversary and can you guess what I got - it was the biggest shock when I looked at this photo  - what happened to us - where did we go!?!?!? LOL!

Having children makes time fly - they grow up so fast and before you know it they have gone from being babies you hold in your arms, to teenagers - and what happened to us in the meantime - we joke about it between us and my DH says he used to have a '6 pack' - but now he has the whole keg!!

As for me - I have my figure to my son, my hair to my DD1 and my sanity to my DD2 and none of them have come back properly!  LOL!  What can you do - you sure cant fight it! It seems the changes are here to stay - arghhh!!

I started this layout at My Scrapbooking evening with my friend and SU demo Ann - all of the papers are Stampin' Up.  Ann is used to me starting something and then coming home and either tearing it apart or adding to it - in this case I  added the Layers of Color Natural Flourish art stencil for the flourish behind the flowers, sponging it on with Distressing Ink

Layers of Color  Flowering Gems and Polka Dot Love art stamp sets for the flower centres and had Kindy Glitz added for some shimmer.

This gorgeous clock is a gift from my friend and neighbour Nat and I just had to use it on this layout - it symbolises how time flies by - and the wonderful years we have had together.

A little surprise is  behind the photo, a tag is  tucked away behind the torn DP.  I decided to do it when I came across a  gorgeous piece of embossed card stock and it was just the right size to make a tag - it just went from there.  I used an image from the Renaissance Hearts art stamps set for the top of the tag, colouring it with SU Chalks, cutting it out and adding that special touch of Kindy Glitz!

It is finished off with a Heidi Grace Rub On and a photo (of course!)  So what do you think?

This layout is for the following Challenges:
Sisterhood of Crafter's - Show us You B-L-I-N-G
The Crafty Pad - Torn or Distressed Edges
One Stitch at a Time - Embellish It
Stamptacular - No cards at All!!
Our Creative Corner - Embellishments - The More the Merrier - flowers, clock, pearls, gems, RubOns
Cinema Saturday Challenge - Hand cut or DieCut
Gingerloft - All that Glitters or Blings
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - Ink and Edge Distressing

You can see more of my projects in my Layers of Color Gallery, while you are there make sure you check out the other Design Team galleries there is so much inspiration waiting to be discovered, we are thrilled that Layers of Color is a Spellbinders Preferred Stamp CompanyYou are invited to join us on our SNR Group where there is lots of fun and chatter (No surprises there I know! LOL)  There are also discounts and previews that are exclusive for the Group Members - come and join us!!

LOC SSIC Lifted Up

What a great way to spend a Sunday than spending time with us at Stampin' Sisters in Christ, it has been so much fun seeing so many players and visiting your Blogs - you are all amazing!!  This week our challenge is brought to us by one of our original Stampin' Sisters, Lisa

"This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'  Matthew 6: 9-13

Lisa has challenged us to make a card/project that features prayer; either someone praying, or a verse about prayer, or a greeting that lets someone know you are praying for them

I have once again  used the Layers of Color Flutterescent art stamp set and am not the only one this week, it is a blessing to me to have some of the LOC Designers playing along today as Laura from Layers of Color is our sponsor this week and is giving away this gorgeous art stamp set to one random winner.  The Layers of Color Design Team are joining us today as we are all Stampin Sisters in Christ, sharing a passion for paper and for God.  You can check out the LOC Blog and see a post by Melisa featuring this fabulous art stamp set!

By the way - the sentiment on the inside says 'praying for you' - it did not work on the outside so I decided to add it inside!

The Lord's Prayer, it would have to be one of the most well known pieces of scripture, it would be known by those who are of the faith and those who are not.  As children we used to recite it at school, knowing the words by heart, but not knowing them in our hearts!

This powerful prayer was not given for us to repetitively pray, mouthing the words but not thinking about what we are praying, but rather as an example of how to pray!  How often are we guilty of running off our list of needs and wants to God, which are all very genuine, but more like a shopping list than a prayer.  The Lord's prayer shows us that there are many facets to prayer, each one helping us to talk and 'commune with God.

It acknowledges who we pray to, giving Him the honour that is due to Him, acknowledging everything is according to HIS will, not ours both on earth and Heaven.  He is our source of supply - and is the one who provides for our needs, on every level...that it is as important to be forgiven as it is to forgive and to keep us from evil both in action and in the heart.....then one of the most important parts - in whose name we pray in - in Jesus name!!

I have never been so deeply touched by hearing this prayer prayed than the day my beautiful Nana went HOME to be with her Lord - we were gathered around the hospital bed as she went and as she took her final breath, my uncle who was standing at the end of the bed said that it was only fitting at this time,  that we say the Lord's prayer - the family joined hands and together we bowed our heads and we prayed that beautiful prayer.  I am sure that if my Nana hadn't already gone home, her heart would have burst with pride in the fact that even in her going, she was pointing the family to God!!

May our prayers always echo the Lord's prayer, that touches the very heart of God when it is prayed from our heart!

I am linking this card to the following Challenges:
Craftilicious - Anything Goes
Little Red Wagon - Something Old/Something New - Stamp is old /border punch is new
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - Ink and Edge Distressing

LOC Written in the Sky

I have had a lot of fun playing with Layers of Color art stamps - I have used one of my favourite butterflies from the Flutterescent art stamp set

I was inspired by the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World - these colours are divine!

I was also inspired by Cardvaarks  where we had to scrap lift one of the Design Teams cards - so I chose Kelly's card to lift!  I love the printed background and used an old SU French Script background stamp with Distressing Ink.

The fabulous butterfly is from the Layers of Color Flutterescent art stamp sets

This card is also for the following challenges:
Hodge Podge Shop - Distressing
Penny's Challenges - As Long as it Flies
The Sisterhood of Crafters -All Things Known as Bling

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - Ink and Edge Distressing

You can see more of my projects in my Layers of Color Gallery, while you are there make sure you check out the other Design Team galleries there is so much inspiration waiting to be discovered, especially with the New Release cling art stamps now being available - Layers of Color is a Spellbinders preferred Company and many of the New Releases are Nestibilitie Coordinates!  You are invited to join us on our SNR Group where there is lots of fun and chatter (No surprises there I know! LOC FAF Love Is....

For Faith Art Friday at Layers of Color I wanted to share this layout - yes, that is my Wedding Photo and it is special to me as Monday is our Wedding Anniversary and it got me thinking about marriage.

....but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him.
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Gen 2:20(b) - 25

'You are flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone' so often we hear this read at Weddings and love all that it conjours up in our minds - how romantic it is to our ears.  I cannot help but be amazed when I see that
God knew when He looked around the garden that although it was filled with beauty, of all the things He created and blessed, there was not one good enough for man.  He then took from close to Adams heart, a rib and created woman.  How amazing is this - it just 'blows my mind' to think of God being so detailed and so concerned about every detail for Adam - including who is to be his partner.  God is a God of excellence and created woman for man - and even went one step further, He presented her to Adam - she was something special and He wasn't about to let him stumble upon her - He wanted to make sure he saw her straight away!

I have heard many theories about why God used a rib and people have questioned whether it really was a literal rib - it is a fact that men have one less rib than women - surely this goes a long way in backing up the truth!!

And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

This verse is saying more than just the physical side of things - such an important key to marriage is to be transparent/naked before one another, not to have any hidden agenda's and secrets but to have a marriage based on honesty and integrity!  As 'idealistic' as this sounds it is the only basis for a marriage that is going to last!  After all it is a holy union before God and union means undivided!

On our wedding day we stand with the one we love, surrounded by our family and friends making promises and vows to one another with every intention of keeping them.  Our hearts are overflowing with love and emotion and it is wonderful!  We are about to celebrate our nineteenth wedding anniversary and as I think about the vows we made on our wedding day, I understand more, that yes, I meant every word but in reality I had no idea what each vow and promise meant.  Now, in hindsight I know what for 'better or worse' really means and am grateful to God for the 'transparency  we have in our marriage!

I am  forever grateful for the understanding that we have, that Love is more than emotion - it is a commitment and a state of the heart' which far surpasses any emotion known to man but one that is not new to God - for after all, HE is Love!!

This layout is for the following challenges:
ABC Challenge - F is for Flowers
Little Red Wagon - Something Old/Something New - I am old!  LOL!  The photo is old and the LOC cling art stamps are new!
Dezinaworld Challenge - Feminine PLUS Masculine
Simon Says Stamp and Show - some Metal - buttons on the flowers
Allsorts Challenge - Inspiration from a Song - 'Love Story'
Papertake Weekly - 3 of a kind - white flowers
Secret Crafter - Distressing

I have created this layout using Layers of Color Belle Brocade art stencil, Cottage Rose and  Floral Frame cling art stamp and Butterfly Collector art stamp set.  The Floral Frame cling art stamp is used in conjunction with the Nestiblities Labels 16 - it is exciting now that LOC is a Spellbinders preferred Company!

You can see more of my projects in my Layers of Color Gallery, while you are there make sure you check out the other Design Team galleries there is so much inspiration waiting to be discovered.  You are invited to join us on our SNR Group where there is lots of fun and chatter (No surprises there I know! LOC New Release #5

As you may have seen we are no longer Sneak Peeking over at Layers of Color was are outrightly FLAUNTING the divine Red Rubber cling art stamps that Laura has been busy creating  - yes Layers of Color has branched out into rubber!!

I am showing you the Rose Blossom Frame cling art stamp and it is a Die Coordinate for the Labels 16 Nestibilitie!!  How cool is that - Layers of Color is a Spellbinders preferred company!  !  It has been such fun working with this image and as you can see it can be used for more than just cards with only a small amount of work!

I created the little gift box from a template that was already cut by my friend Ann ( thanks Ann!)  The Rose Blossom Frame bling art stamp has been coloured with Prismacolor Pencils  and the butterfly some the Flutterescent art stamps has been coloured with SU Chalks, cut out and popped up onto the box with foam tape.

A row of cotton lace has been added around the gift box - I just can't resist lace in any shape or form!  Then coloured the Rose Bloom Frame cling stamp with SU Chalks and added a butterfly from the Flutterescent Clear Art Stamp set.  The wings have been popped up on Dimensionals and a light touch of Kindy Glitz has been added!

The gorgeous flower is from my stash, this is popped up on foam tape and a large gem added to the centre, finishing off with some chiffon ribbon for handles!!  How easy is that!!

I am going to be making some gift cards to put in it and will be giving it as a gift at Christmas - this year I am determined to make as many gifts as I can - and this is a start!

This is for the following Challenges:

Gold thread and has been attached and a snowflake fastened with a gem to keep it all in place (lets hope it works! LOL!)

I have coloured it with SU Chalks and cut out a second set of wings and popped them up on foam tape.  You can see the dimension below along with the detail on the wings.
