Spellbinders Broken Path by Seth Apter Tutorial

Hello friend - I am excited to be back sharing tutorial for Spellbinders using one of the New Release Dies by Licensed Designer Seth Apter of The Altered Page.  It is no big secret that I am a HUGE fan of Seth - both the person and his designs - he has helped me transition to the Mixed Media side of art - or 'the dark side' as some affectionately name it - not naming names! :D

Other : Liquid Glue;  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: E-Z Adhesive Runner, 3D Foam Squares;  Imagine: Memento in Bamboo Leaves, Tangerine, Teal Zeal, Rhubarb Stalk and Dandelion, irRESISTibles Pico Embellisher in Electric Yellow and Wedding Dress; Yellow and green card stock; computer generated sentiment; Recycled cardboard;  China White Pencil, Glass embellishment.

1. Cut/emboss one Broken Path Die using corrugated card.

2. Cut/emboss two Broken Path Dies using recycled cardboard ie. cereal boxes

3. Glue the layers together - with the corrugated card on the top.

4. Emboss green card stock using the Seth Apter Em-bossing Fold'ers Gridiron,

5. Sponge using Tangerine, Teal Zeal and Dandelion ink - apply the ink pad straight onto the embossed card.

6. Splatter using irRESISTibles Pico Embellisher in Electric Yellow and Wedding Dress - allow to dry.

7. Adhere the embossed layer onto the pre-cut card base card base, centering as much as possible.

8. Randomly stamp the areas above and below the embossed panel using Morse Code stamp with Teal Zeal ink followed by Rhubarb Stalk ink.

9. Glue the Die cut onto the layered card base.

10. Adhere computer sentiment onto black card stock and trim

11. Pop up onto the lower portion of the Die using 3D Foam Squares.

12. Glue the glass embellishment to the centre of the Die cut.

Coffee Drip Drop

Hello friends - I am back with another card using the Drip Drop Die designed for Spellbinders by my dear friend Seth Apter of The Altered Page.  I still have quite a few negative dies left from numerous Workshops but one by one I am working my way through them and having fun with each one!

You can find Seth's range for Spellbinders HERE.  The Drip Drop has been cut using white card stock and layered onto Retired Stampin' Up! Paper behind the negative die using  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser.  I have added the sentiment from the Espresso Yourself stamp set by Sparkle and Sprinkle and the coffee Beans from the Flourishes lc set My Cup Overflows have been coloured using Chameleon Pens,.   These layers have been popped up onto a pre-cut card base using Crafty Foam Tape White.

Recycled - Nature's Beauty

Hello friends - today I am sharing a card using recycled packaging as my patterned paper - from my DD1's tea cup - I am sure you would agree it is too pretty to throw away.

I have popped up a white Die cut from the Spellbinders Fairmont Labels using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The bird from Fiskars has been stamped using  Imagine Crafts Memento Ink in Teal Zeal.  This has been popped up onto a precut card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.

A strip of Yellow Braid has been glued along the base of the patterned layer, three buttons have been glued to the braid and Want2Scrap white pearls have been adhered to the centre of the buttons.  Nice and easy but so pretty - we have so many items that we can recycled - I love the uniqueness of this card - and if you are wondering - the cup is the same pattern and just as bright and pretty!

Spellbinders Swallow and Heart Tutorial

1. Cut/emboss one Swallow and Heart heart and banner using white card stock.

2. Cut/emboss one swallow using scrap of patterned paper.

3. Use the Die a a Stencil and sponge inside using Summer Sky ink and a sponge dauber.

4. Cut/emboss two Fairmont Labels using white cardstock.

5. Score one Fairmont Labels 1cm from the top and fold forward.

6. Adhere the second Fairmont Labels to form card base, making sure to line up patterned eadges.

7. Cut/emboss one Fairmont Labels using white cardstock.

8. Pop up the heart using 3D Foam Squares.

9. Remove the swallow from the die and lightly sand using a sanding block.

10. Cut/emboss four Amazing Paper Grace Swirl Bliss corners using white cardstock.

11. Pop up heart onto the small Fairmont Labels

12. Adhere patterned paper to the card base.

13. Glue corners on, overlapping each one onto the next.

14. Tie blue thread around the front of the card, securing with a bow.

15. Pop up the layered heart onto the layered card base.

16.  Pop up the dove onto the heart - slightly to the right, using 3D Foam Squares.

17. Adhere the banner across the lower portion of the heart.

18. Adhere white pearls across the banner.

19. Glue a mulberry paper rose to the bow.

20. Adhere White pearls around the filigree border.

Make sure you pop in and visit the other International Ambassadors - these girls are so talented - each one is picked to be an Ambassador for their country because they are seasoned designers and so inspiring, they also stand as talented designers in their own right - as you will see!!!  The list of International Ambassadors is below, in case you get lost along the way.

Darkroom Door - Butterfly

Hello friends, today's card has a beautiful butterfly from Darkroom Door - I love the size of it and how beautifully it colours.

I have coloured the image using Chameleon Pens, it has been cut out using Spellbinders Labels.  I have layered dots using a variety of Chameleon Pens to add a shadowing effect.  This has been layered onto an embossed Spellbinders Labels 17 - embossed using the Spellbinders Horse Hair folder by Tammy Tutterow using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  This in turn has been popped up onto a precut card base using Labels 17, also using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

A button has been glued to the centre of the butterfly and a Want2Scrap pearl added to the button - such an easy but effective embellishment

Full Bloom

Hello friends , I hope you are enjoying your weekend - it has been a busy one for me but I have managed to squeeze in some Studio time - for my own sanity, which is a MUST as we are in the middle of a heatwave and being outside is not an option! LOL!

I have used a stamp by the lovely Kim Geiser whose artwork and style and second only to her gorgeous heart.  It is such a fun set and fun to colour - I have used Chameleon Pens for this  The image has been cut/embossed using A2 Matting Basics A Card Creator.

White card stock has been sponged using Imagine Radiant Neon Inks using a sponge dauber.  White and yellow paint have been splattered randomly on the sponged area.  Once dry it has been cut/embossed using A2 Matting Basics A Card Creator.   This has been layered onto a pre-cut white card base. The coloured image has been popped up using The sentiment is computer generated and adhered using liquid glue.  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: E-Z Adhesive Runner, 3D Foam Squares
