Inky Flowers

Hello friend, thanks so much for stopping by.  Happy Easter to you all - I hope you have celebrated at some level - for our family it is the most important time in Christian His-story - it is amazing what can happen in 3 days!

I have a quick and easy card to share with you today - it was so much fun playing around with ink...and so easy to get such a vibrant background.

I used watercolour paper and spritzed it lightly with water, adding drops of ink from 4 different reinkers.  I have to be honest and say that at first I was not a fan of what was happening but decided to keep going and I am glad i did!

I spritzed with water while adding inks and it helped with the ink moving round - which made quite a difference - but the real 'Star of the Show' was stamp cleaner - I added drops to the inked paper and watched the magic happen - lightly dabbing the results with Baby Wipes and that was it - easy and I can't wait to try it with other colours - maybe monochromatic - there is no limit!

I added three die cut Spellbinders Die D-Lites Sketched Blooms 2 Etched Dies - I have cut the flowers using recycled cardboard from a cereal box - it is nice and sturdy and just adds a little but more dimension - for those who are interested I used a Sanitarium Vita-Brits Box - the perfect shade of white on the inside! LOL!  The sentiment is computer generated and adhered to the lower portion of the card front using foam tape.

The card front is trimmed and popped up onto a slightly larger white card base using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.

This card is linked to the following challenges:

Laughter is Timeless

Hello friends - welcome and thanks so much for visiting.  Today I am excited to be sharing another card using one of the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Plates.  If you are like me and don't have a Foil Machine - you can still use the plates - not in the traditional way but definitely effectively - hopefully you are inspired by this card...you can find my first card using the foil plates differently HERE.

I have used the 'faux letterpress' technique and used the Spellbinders Gilded Leaves Shaped Panel Glimmer Hot Foil Plate The Gilded Age by Becca Feeken as an embossing plate, sponging both Flourish Plates using Imagine Memento Ink in Rhubarb Stalk using a Sponge Dauber for precision.  I placed the ink side up onto the main plate of the Platinum Die Cutting Machine, inside the Outer Frame Cutting Edge , followed by a piece of teal card stock.  Run through the Platinum using the tan mat and the embossing plate.

The sentiment is from Kaisercraft and has been popped up into slightly larger pink card stock using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The flowers are also from Kaisercraft and have been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors and also popped up onto alternate corners using 3D Foam Squares

These layers have been popped up onto the debossed card front using double sided tape and Want2Scrap Baby Bling Teal Rhinestones have been added along the top and bottom of the sentiment layers.

The layered card front has been popped up onto a pre-cut slightly larger pink card base with rounded corners.

Graceful Birthday Card

Hello friends,  welcome and thanks for stopping by.  Today I have been playing with more neutral tones but with a spring feel.  I love the softness of the flowers against the grey and of course those Want2Scrap Swirls Finesse - they are so elegant.

I have cut/embossed the largest die from one of my 'go to' Spellbinders Nestabilities Scored and Pierced Rectangles Etched Dies using the Platinum Die Cutting Machine and older Kaisercraft patterned paper. Next it it has been adhered to a slightly larger pre-cut Scalloped white card base, which I believe is also Kaisercraft;  using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra.

The next two layers are from Prima papers and chipboard from my stash, followed by a flower created using Spellbinders Blooms Flower Die D-Lites, sadly it is discontinued. Pink Ricrac has been glued across the lower portion of the card base.

Spellbinders Baby Step Block Card Tutorial

Hello friends, welcome and thank you for stopping by.  I am sharing a tutorial for Spellbinders using the Baby Step Block Card Die by Marisa Job.  I am so delighted how it all came together so easily.  Baby cards seem to be one of the cards that people keep - they are a gift in themselves and are often a keepsake that becomes a treasure.  We are at that stage in life that it is our kids friends having the babies, or our friends kids - either way it is wonderful and a great reason to make cards.  I am very excited about sharing this tutorial with you.

1. Cut two Step Card Bases using thick patterned paper.
2. Adhere the back and front together using double sided tape, start by overlapping the two base pieces.
3. Fold each step on the score line, overlapping and securing with strong tape - this forms the card base.

4. Cut/emboss nine (9) Squares using co-ordinating paper.
5. Adhere one to each of the six (6) squares on the card front and on each of the three (3)steps.
6. Cut one each of the duckie, 'all in one' suit and 'GIRL' using cream card stock
7. Use the pink negative die from the Layered Bundle of Joy Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes footprints and cut using second smallest die from the Standard Circles Small.
8. Cut one yellow circle using the third die from the Standard Circles Small, followed by one white circle using the fourth smallest die.
9. Layer the die cuts, gluing together.
10. Colour the embellishments as desired and pop up the embellishments onto each block using 3D Foam Squares.
11. Glue extra flowers and butterflies as desired.

12. Add embellishments to each step, popping them up with 3D Foam Squares for dimension.
NOTE: This card folds flat for mailing.
