It is Sunday and time for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - and we all love that don't we! It is my honour to be hosting this weeks challenge and have chosen:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
My challenge is to create a card/project true to your style - show us who you really are!
It should come as no surprise that I love vintage, it would have to be my signature style, although I am loving a touch of shabby vintage as well - such a pretty style. But for this challenge, I have created a vintage card - sing some divine paper from an old Dressmaking Book, that I was given by a friend - it makes the most perfect DP.
I have used the Spellbinders Decorative Dress Forms Die, the stand is created using the Spellbinders Elegant Posts Die, cutting both Dies with the Grand Calibur.
The sentiment is from the Layers of Color Sweet Silhouettes clear art stamp set and has been cut with the Spellbinders Classic Circles Die LG.
One thing I am sure of - our minds are always full...of one thing or another - we would all have a different answer if I asked you 'what was on your mind today?' Our answer would depend on those things we fill our mind with, our hope and dreams, those things that both consume our minds and feed the 'inner man'.
In this day and age, it is becoming increasing harder to think only on the above things, we are constantly bombarded by the negative influences that confront us in everyday life through the many forms of media that is at our fingertips today. We may try to justify the things that go through our minds that are anything but true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report; virtuous, and praiseworthy - I believe Paul himself would have a battle on his hands.....
In this verse the Greek word for 'think' means 'to keep on thinking.' It is not enough to think about these things once and move onto the next thing - our minds need to be continually filled, they should be part of our everyday spiritual diet . The more we think of these things, the sooner it becomes a way of life for us and we in turn LIVE what we believe - becoming more like Christ to those who are searching for Him.

This is truly you, Linda - so shabby and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI loved this challenge Linda! I really was not sure if I actually have a style of my own so I incorporated many thinks that I gravitate towards. Loved the verse - loved your devotion and oh so true - keep thinking! Have a fantastically wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteLinda, this is sooo "YOU"!! You do vintage so well, and love the dress form on there! That's so interested that you got your hands on an actual dress maker's book! How cool to incorporate that into your works of heART *Ü* Lovely job. So now... do those dress form dies have to be used with the grand calibur? Or are they small enough to use with a cuttlebug? Hmmm! ;) Hope you have a wonderful week sistah!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Linda. You are a blessing to me so it's a perfect sentiment of 'you' not just your style. Sorry I haven't been commenting as of late, life gets hectic sometimes. I have been following your lovely work though. Hugs~Lori
ReplyDeleteLinda this card is so 'you' :-)! love it, and thank you for reminding me of that scripture... and all it's implications.
