LOC TCR#4 Love my Bear

Helo - I am finally here -  have felt like I am 'behind the eight ball' all day and have had to photograph this layout three seperate times to get rid of shadows as it is WET and overcast - not that I am complaining about the weather - it is just hard to photograph properly!

This layout is for The Color Room - using the colours for this weeks palette, I love the autumn tones and there is plenty of inspiration around here at the moment - Canberra is spectacular in autumn.

These photos are of my children when they were younger, they wanted to have a Birthday Party for their Teddy Bears - they just loved those bears ( and just quietly, still do!)  I used the delish cupcake from the Layers of Color art stamp set Birdday Party and added it to the lace.  I also added a leaves and flowers throughout the layout from the Nature Walk art stamp set.  I love the special touches they add.

I have tried to keep a masculine feel to things, for my DS's sake but could not resist adding the flowers from Nature Walk here as well!

How cute is this cat from the Dotted Delights art stamp set - I just had to add him - I love the tail just hanging there, as cat's do!   The flourish is from the Creative Flourishes art stamp set.

These ticketed sentiments from Autumn Leaves  are among my favourites - my DH hunted for them, and the punch, everywhere for me when I was new to stamping and finally found then at Simon Says Stamp - I thought it was the cutest name for a 'little shop'  - LOL!  How little did I know back then - and what a darling my DH is for going to so much trouble for me - I am keeping him!! LOL!

I love these letters and  have to tell you that my DH got me these too - from our local Kmart - they were on sale for $1 a pack - God bless that man - he looks after me.  I inked them with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Walnut Stain and then sponged them with Marmalade - ink, NOT jam - just incase you wondered! LOL!  So there you have it - I am happy with it, but you know how it is, they always look better in real life - or is that because of my photography!?!?

Thank you for looking and for those lovely comments you leave me - I love your visits, you always make my day.  You can see more at The Color Room - there are the most amazing Scrapbookers over there - I am so aware that I am just a novice in a field of experts - but I am looking and learning everyday - isn't that what we are all about!!  God bless you!

Perfect Moment

Well... it would have been a perfect moment if I was on time with this card - just as well the Twisted Sisters are gracious!!! This weeks Twisted Sister Challenge is to create a card using orange, it must have spots, ribbon, scallops and we had to have used a punch and I have met all of those....so maybe this week I will get moved from the back of the bus (we travel on a thread called the 'Old Broken bus' )!!

I love this image sent to me from my lovely sister Pat Smethers, on the quiet I think I have half of Pat's craft supplies in my cupboard! LOL! As soon as I saw it I thought that it could be one of us on Family Night - we love to chill out....funnily enough whenever we have Pizza the kids say,' we love it when Dad cooks!' Dad is a cook by trade - go figure! LOL! I chalked the image and used the Scalloped Border Punch to do the corners and used my 'Ticketed' punch for the sentiment, the spots are on the DP behind the image and the ribbon, well hopefully you can see that...and yes, there is orange on the card! Finally I have a double scalloped border ( do you see that O Twisted Ones?!? LOL!)

I hope this makes up for me being late, only by a day and what a day - it has been crazy here!! It is actually Sunday morning here (12:20am) I am off to an all day Stamp Camp tomorrow and had better get myself to bed...I would hate to make mistakes when we are having Christmas in July and making ten Christmas cards, doing ten techniques - I am so-o-o looking forward to that!!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I love to know you have been, so if you have time, please leave a comment - it makes my day! God bless you!

More Midnight Madness

It is Sunday afternoon here and raining - cardmaking weather if you ask me!!! Mind you any weather is cardmaking weather for me! I actually made this card last night and only had the brads and the sentiment to add...but was exhausted so packed up and went to bed 2 hours earlier than normal - unheard of in our house....I was packed up, cleaned up and tucked up in bed by 10:30pm...one early night!!! So this afternoon I have added the finishing touches and on this card and also a scrapbook page that I will upload shortly - just have to find the right lighting for photographing!

This is week 6 for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge and I just love their sketches, they always have something different about them and usually they make me think! They are out Tuesdays but I usually wait until the weekend so that I have thought about what I am doing and also I don't have to rush it! This week I have used an image I got the BLOG CANDY that I won from Kimmie - I love these Whiff of Joy images and have only got this one...so I wanted to make sure I used it well!!! Oh, and before I get onto the business side of this card - I have to tell you...when I clicked onto the MMSC I got such a surprise to see that I had won the weekly incentive - HOW COOL IS THAT!!! It made my day - so thank you Priscilla and the ladies....one happy stamper here!! LOL!

I coloured the image with chalks and then paper pierced around the edges and layered in onto black CS. The DP was also layered onto black CS as was each strip of ribbon. I felt that as I had used very bold DP the ribbon and ric rac would be lost if I used it straight onto the DP. At first I wasn't sure what to do for the ribbon but this ric rac seems to work well, especially on the black. I used black brads as using coloured ones would have been too 'leary'....The sentiment was embossed and lightly sponged with blue, so light you can hardly see it in the photo, but it does soften the look IRL. I then added layered photo corners and a brad to the top right corner of the image, completing the Sketch Challenge!

Now, I have to say...don't be fooled by the look of this card...it is a bit more clean lined that I normally do BUT it sure was a fiddly little thing to make...especially layering the ribbon and then weaving it! But I am happy with the end result! Now if you haven't been over and seen the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - you NEED to go!! Not only is it a great challenge but they are giving away monthly CASH PRIZES and a weekly incentive (Yahoo!!) Don't miss out...you'll be sorry!!

Thank you for stopping my and visiting - don't forget to leave a comment so I know you have been and MOST importantly - don't forget to come back!! God bless you!Posted by Picasa

So Much Gorgeous-ness!!

I L-O-V-E cards with attitude and these Emerson gals sure 'ooze' the 'tude!!! OL! They just appeal to me on so many levels....maybe it is because they just don't care what people think - they are 'who they are!'
I have been asked to do 10 'quirky' cards for one of the boutiques that sells my cards....of course it had to be these gals!!! I then had a 'cruise' around the challenges and decided on the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge....I can't believe it is their second week - if you haven't looked already pop on over...you can find them here ... the time has just flown by!! Here is my first card for this week....you can guarantee I will be doing three....
I coloured the image with chalks and added highlights in Pink Glitter Pen. I used a Fiskar border punch for the corners and the lower edge....sponging and paper piercing, layering - you name it...I done it!!! LOL!!! I then added the sentiment from Autumn Leaves and added some Kaiser ( a great Australian Product!) pearls....I have also added the polka dot ribbon....went nicely with the choc chip theme!!! LOL
Well, it took me ages to get it happening as I just couldn't get my head around it...maybe my 'MOJO' is not happening today....how awful...but here it is...thank you for coming by and visiting me here - I love to see that you have been!!! God bless you!
