It is Friday here and time to get together with my sistah's - my Twisted Sisters on SCS, that is. this week the challenge is to make a card in pink as it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month....I have made this card in pinks but not your traditional pinks and have added black as it is also for another very special Cause...
- a little girl called Jaimie who at 11 years old was critically injured in a home invasion that left her mother dead and Jaimie fighting for her life. As I ready Jaimie's story I was deeply touched and could not help but look at my 11 year old daughter and have my heart go out to Jaimie - she is not a 'girlie girl' we have been told, but loves black and HOT pink!
Some of you may be aware that on Monday 4 November there is a very special Blog Hop happening called 'Spread the Love', this Blog Hop is being organised through Stamp Something and you can read about it here. Erin and Denise from Stamp Something are encouraging everyone who is able to make a card for Jaimie, to pour out love and support for this brave little girl! The details for the Blog Hop are here and also where to send your card, otherwise you can contact me and I will point you in the right direction!
I used the Layers of Color elephant from the Polka Dot Parade, Layers of Color is one of companies sponsoring this Blog Hop and has donated Stamps as a prize - hopefully you have been seeing some of the cards the Guest Design Team have been making and posting on their Blogs - if not then pop over to Layers of Color and see where they all are - they are stunning - prepare to 'fall in love' with their gorgeous images and find out about the New Releases coming soon!!
Thank you for coming by today, it has been lovely to take time out from the projects I have been making for up and coming events (hint: New Release Party, Blog Hops) and make a card for something so meaningful - I am going to make another card for the day of the Blog Hop - couldn't resist sending her a few!
I hope you day has is a good one and you are with the people you love - let them know what they mean to you - it is so important! God bless you!

All White
This card is for the Twisted Sister Challenge on SCS - these gals are such a special group of ladies and have become like a family to me - I love Fridays and look forward to our challenges. We travel on a thread called 'The Old Broken Bus' and have a lot of laughs along the way, we have been known to shed a few tears, what a blessing these gals are...and we are not exclusive...anyone is welcome to play!!This week our challenge is to make a card that is all white - NO SPONGING!! NO COLOUR!! The only exception is that we could have gold, silver or black on our sentiment......I am feeling pretty smug right now as I didn't even do that - no colour for me girls - it is ALL WHITE....except for one thing - the brads have a small bit of silver on them...which I supppose keeps me at the back of the bus for breaking the rulz - never mind I think I am being joined by a few others this week - I have caught glimpses of colour on some of the cards - not going to be lonely back there this week! LOL!
The final touches were added with paper piercing around the word 'YOU' that I chose to use as a sentiment and pearls added to the right hand corners....very easy and not as challenging as I thought it would be for me - I think I am starting to get a bit used to working outside of my comfort zone!!
This card also fits the ABC Challenge where 'F is for flying!'
Flutter by Wednesday is open as long as it has a butterfly or fairy.
Thank you for stopping by, I am so appreciative of your comments - you bless me!! It is Saturday night here and cool - we are all cosy inside...I am hoping to get another card or two done tonight once everyone goes to bed - I am a late night crafter...it is our 18th Wedding Anniversary tomorrow, I have made a card for DH but daren't post it until he is in bed as he drops by sometimes ('Hi Love!) and I do't want to spoil the surprise - so I will see you a little bit later!! God bless you!

A Child is Born
It is Saturday here and once again I am late for the Twisted Sister Challenge! I tried to get this card done on time, but things just came up - this may come as a shock to you BUT there is life outside card making - yes, take a deep breath - it is a hard concept to grasp, but every once and a while life needs our attention!! LOL!
Our challenge this week was to make a card that was a different shape, anything BUT a square or rectangle...so I came up with this...
I do have to add at this point that when I checked the TSC gallery this morning my dear sistah and friend Pat Smethers had already created this beauty...I nearly didn't continue but...who better than Pat to case!! The reality is that Pat has been so generous to me and sent me RAK's that would 'blow your mind' - I probably own half her supplies anyway!! LOL!
I love this darling image sent to me by another SCS friend Jocelyn (aka JoBear2) I chalked it and added Kindy Glitz to the wings, also adding some gold highlights with a glitter pen, but as usual...they don't show up well. The image has been popped up on Dimensionals.
I have taken these photos at night (as it is here!) and the colour isn't the best...close but not as vibrant as it should be BUT I didn't want to be any later...I don't want to break the rulz - they have already made me sit at the back of 'The Bus' and I don't want to be moved to the top with the 'naughty girls' - I don't like heights! LOL!
This card is also for the Pile It On Challenge with Three Dimensional being the theme!
Also Gingersnaps Creations where 'Bling is the Thing!'
Thanks for stopping by - and for your lovely comments, you make my day!! I would hate to miss your visit!! Have a great weekend!! God bless you!

LOC Fruit Friends
I have used my Layer of Color images, this 'berry' cute mouse (sorry I couldn't resist that!) is from the Polka Dot Parade set. I have chalked him and then used Dimensional Magic on the strawberries to give them that 'lush' and YUMBLY look! These have then been cut out with the SU Square Punch and layered onto black CS. I have added a Cuttlebug Die Cut to each square and secured it with a black brad.
The background DP has had the edges sponged and then been embossed with the 'Houndstooth' Embossing Folder. I am really liking the added texture it gives a card when you emboss DP. The lower image is from the Layers of Color Garden Borders set...this has also been chalked and had Dimensional magic added to to strawberries PLUS a light touch of Kindy Glitz to the leaves, which is not showing up very well in the photos - you know how it goes!! This border image has been layered onto black CS and torn olive green CS.
There you have it - one card, the Twisted Sister Challenge theme was 'Food Fight' - any kind of food goes. As cute as this little image looks - how horrified would we be to see this running across our kitchen floor! LOL!
Thank you for stopping by - you know I love to see that you have been and to read your encouraging comments - you are so encouraging ! Thank you!! It is Friday night here and raining with thunder rolling around the hills - lovely!! We don't get a lot of rain in Canberra, which gets hit pretty hard by the drought...so it is FABULOUS!!! I hope you have a great weekend - spent with those you love - or at least like! LOL! God bless you!

Perfect Moment
I love this image sent to me from my lovely sister Pat Smethers, on the quiet I think I have half of Pat's craft supplies in my cupboard! LOL! As soon as I saw it I thought that it could be one of us on Family Night - we love to chill out....funnily enough whenever we have Pizza the kids say,' we love it when Dad cooks!' Dad is a cook by trade - go figure! LOL! I chalked the image and used the Scalloped Border Punch to do the corners and used my 'Ticketed' punch for the sentiment, the spots are on the DP behind the image and the ribbon, well hopefully you can see that...and yes, there is orange on the card! Finally I have a double scalloped border ( do you see that O Twisted Ones?!? LOL!)
I hope this makes up for me being late, only by a day and what a day - it has been crazy here!! It is actually Sunday morning here (12:20am) I am off to an all day Stamp Camp tomorrow and had better get myself to bed...I would hate to make mistakes when we are having Christmas in July and making ten Christmas cards, doing ten techniques - I am so-o-o looking forward to that!!
Thank you so much for stopping by, I love to know you have been, so if you have time, please leave a comment - it makes my day! God bless you!

Seeking Him!

The Twisted Sister Challenge is a love of mine....this group of gals (and one guy) started with a group of friends who commented on each others card and set up their own challenges, for fun...it has grown over time and I just love being part of it -I have to say...they really are TWISTED and really have become SISTAHs (and BROTHER!) to me. The challenge this week was to make a card using Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, ribbon and a scripture and use an older Skecth Challenge SC116.....having the scripture also qualifies it for the Bible Verse Challenge!
As I did not have the exact colours (which often happens to me as I am a budget stamper) I used as close as I could...I sponged around ALL the edges with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink - frayed burlap. I love the effect sponging has, it is definitely a favourite technique...one panel is embossed with the CB - Textured Textiles and then I have sponged over that to add more depth, embossing adds so much texture and elegance to a card - it is another technique I love! I stretched the boundaries, just a little and used string rather than ribbon...I had to use eyelets to run it through (oops) and also added matching brads at the corners of the scripture...I couldn't help myself, it just needed them...what's a girl to do!?!
For a final touch I added torn sponged corners, just so you would know I haven't forgotten about them! LOL!! I am happy with the finished card and have enjoyed going back into the sketches to do older ones - I might have to have a little 'wander' over that way again!!! Also, the scripture is computer generated as I do not own any scripture stamps AS YET!!! Thank you for looking....
