Spellbinders Feathers in the Wind Tutorial

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  I have a new tutorial for Spellbinders to share with you - sharing a card created using one of the Good Vibes Only Collection by Stephanie Low.  The wonderful Feathers in the Wind Etched Dies are so easy to use and make cards for so many occasions.

'Shapeabilities Feathers in the Wind Etched Dies Good Vibes Only Collection by Stephanie Low is a set of four dies which includes two feather silhouette shapes and two intricate feather designs. An admirer of all things nature and organic in shapes and elements, Stephanie Low was inspired to create Good Vibes Only Collection.' - Spellbinders

1. Cut one Small and one Large Feather from the Feathers in the Wind Etched Dies using white card stock.
2. Cut/emboss one Large Feather Backer using pink card stock and one Small Feather Backer using teal card stock.

One of a Kind

Hello friends, today I am sharing a card using some of Spellbinders Matting Basics to created a frame for these gorgeous feathers - also Spellbinders.  I am a great fan of the Matting Basics, they help in a number of ways - first of all - uneven cards and secondly they make layering so easy and these are only two of the great things about them!

I have used the A-2 Matting Basics B Card Creator Etched Dies with the frame being created by using #6 and #7 Dies (#1 being the smallest)  The smaller die has been placed inside the larger die and they are secured using repositional tape, then cut, embossed using the the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine - 6" and some of the Lovely Layers patterned paper by Anna Griffin inc.

The sentiment is from Kaisercraft and stamped using Imagine Memento Ink in Rhubarb Stalk (one of my favourite reds)  The Shapeabilities Feathers Etched Dies have been cut using scraps from my stash and then lightly sanded using a sanding block.  I have also used   Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares and E-Z Adhesive Runner.

Nice Normal Family

Hello friends, my card today has been created using one of the fun stamp sets from Sparkle N Sprinkle - Chicken Run stamp set. I love those chickens and the sentiments that come with them - we actually have a sign with this saying on it! LOL!

I have inked the image using Imagine Memento Inks along with a White Gel Pen to add some highlights to the Chickens and sponged the sky background also using Memento Inks.

The image has been cut/embossed using Spellbinders Celebrations Pierced Ovals , then the background has been sponged using various inks.  I have used my sponge daubers and not added any extra ink - they are usually 'fully loaded'!  The sentiment has been stamped to the top portion of the Pierced Ovals.

The Border has been embossed using the Shapeabilities Stitched Borders Etched Dies Quilt It by Lene Lok onto blue card stock, the leaves have been sponged using Imagine Memento Ink in Bamboo Leaves and outlined using a White Gel Pen.

This has been layered onto a pre-cut card base using A2 Matting Basics B Card Creator.  A burlap strip has been adhered across the centre of the card front, with feathers, a flourish and button..

The Sky is the Limit

Hello Blog friends, I have a fun mixed media influenced card to share with you today - again, using a negative Die from Spellbinders Drip Drop by Licensed Designer Seth Apter of The Altered Page.

I have layered the Drip Drop negative die onto some handmade paper that has been cut slightly larger and layered onto black cardstock, that again is slightly larger.  The black makes everything pop.  The card base is from teal cardstock

The feathers are from the Spellbinders Feathers Dies, they have been cut/embossed and sponged using Imagine Crafts Memento Ink in Teal Zeal with a little Radiant Neon Electric Orange ink in the center.  The white dots have been added using a white sharpie - my all time favourite white pen.

Yellow braid has been added across the negative die and a computer sentiment popped up on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares onto that.  A cog from the Industrial 2 Dies has been inked using brown ink and added; finishing off with some faux Washi Tape.
