AIR #3 October - Kaleidacolor Challenge

I am back to share my third Tutorial as an Artist in Residence Tutorial for Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko®  for September.  For this months Challenge we were given an IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Kaleidacolor™ Dye Inkpad - mine was Autumn Leaves - with some IMAGINE Crafts® Fireworks!™ Craft Spray to match.  Here is what I came up with.

Other: Brayer, Rose ribbon, Cosmo Cricket™ - Chipboard Alphabet, Want2Scrap© - Swirls Finesse; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ - E-Z Adhesive Runner

Emboss white card using the Cabbage Roses Spellbinder® M-Bossabilities™ folder and the  Grand Calibur® Machine.   Apply IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Kaleidacolor™ Dye Ink in Autumn Leaves and a brayer.

NOTE:  If you line up the edge of your brayer with the edge of the ink pad, you will get the same colours each time you roll.

Cut two (2)  Decorative Labels Eight Spellbinders® Nestabilities®, use wax paper between the Die and the card to make it easier to remove from the filigree Die - wax side facing the Die.  Scor the top of the second Die inside the filigree frame as shown in the photo below.

Fold at the scored line and tape onto the first Die to form the card base.  Cut out the embossed and inked layer using the Labels Eight Nestabilities® and adhere to the card base using double sided tape.

Spray white Rose Braid using IMAGINE Crafts® Fireworks!™ Craft Spray in Bamboo Leaves.  I have sprayed twice to get the depth of colour I am wanting - make sure you let it dry between coats.  The material will have a lovely shimmer.  Attach to the card using double sided tape.

I have finished off the card by adding Want2Scrap© - Swirls Finesse above the Roses and a pennant from the Cosmo Cricket™ - Chipboard Alphabet.

Imagine Butterfly

I am slowly sorting through photo of projects I have done at various times and am sharing a card that we created during the Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko Class taught by John At Imagine the the Spellbinders Retreat in August.

We used the fabulous new product Vertigo, along with the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Kaleidacolor™ Dye Inkpad in Grapevine

The butterfly is from the Les Papillions Two Spellbinders® Shapeabilities® and the Radiant Rectangles Spellbinders® Majestic Elements Nestabilities®.  The background has been embossed using the  Whimsical Flora Spellbinders® M-Bossabilities™ folder.  All Die cutting and embossing has been done using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.

The bling is from Want2Scrap© - Baby Bling and the sentiment from SRM Stickers.

A CAS style birthday card using the So Trendy Spellbinders® M-Bossabilities™ folder

White card has been run through the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.  Next I have used a Brayer and some of the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Kaleidacolor™ Dye Ink pad - Tahiti - I love the effect that it has.

The card base has also been embossed using the So Trendy Spellbinders® M-Bossabilities™ folder, the sentiment is from SRM Stickers and the flowers from my friend Janet at Scrapville.

AIR Vineyard Themed Tutorial

For  It is time for my second Tutorial today I am creating a Wall Hanging - using the beautifully muted tones of the  Tsukineko Vineyard Kaleidacolor Ink Pad along with some Memento Dew Drop Pads.

Other: Acrylic Block, Brad, large Pearls, Glue, Double Sided Tape, Handmade lace, scissors or distressing tool

Start by stamping approximately six (6) flowers from the Penny Black® Inc. - Petal Party  onto white card using the Lulu Lavender, Sweet Plum and the leaves in Bamboo Leaves  as shown in the photo below, stamp both the large and small flowers.  Cut around each flower using scissors.

 

 

Sponge the edges of the flowers to soften the crisp white edges.

 

Stamp both of the sentiment in the Memento Dew Drop - Espresso Truffle. Cut and emboss the large sentiment using the Spellbinders™ Labels Four Nestabilities® and the 'Paris' sentiment using the Spellbinders™ Ovals One Media Mixáge™ Die.  Use the Die as a Stencil, before removing the card - sponge around the inside using the Lulu Lavender and a Sponge Dauber

 

 Stamp a Script Background onto white card stock using Espresso Truffle and sponge around the edges using Grey Flannel.  Distress the edges using your scissor blade or distressing tool. 

Using the Vineyard Kaleidacolor Inkpad and the lace border from the Penny Black® Inc - lace delight stamp set, stamp around the edges of the white card - NOTE - the scalloped edge is facing towards the center.

Layer as follows - add the Labels Four sentiment onto the Script Background layer, on the center of the right hand side (as shown in the photo below) attach the Eiffel Tower Die using glue.

Curl the flowers using the end of a paintbrush, layering one large and smaller one securing using a brad.

 

Attach them using foam tape to the layered card, positioning the leaves where they are balanced, this will vary depending on where you have placed the flowers.  Add large pearls to the center of the outer flowers.

Finish the layers by adding some Want2Scrap Flourishes and attaching them to thick Black cardboard.  The sentiment has been glued into the Spellbinders™ Ovals One  Media Mixáge™ Bezel and Ice Resin has been added.  The finished Bezel is adhered as shown below, using strong double sided tape.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and are inspired to try the Kaleidacolor Inks and Memento Dew Drops – such divine colours and they look amazing and give such an instant ‘WOW’ factor.
