Tilda Love

Hello friends, welcome and thanks so much for stopping by.  I have finally managed to finish off the second card I have been working on (little by little) since a friend came over with a few Magnolia's stamped off - not something I have coloured much at all, but had a lot of fun - I know these images are either YES or No for people, but she is cute and I enjoyed the process of this card.  I have used the same colour theme for both cards.

Tilda has been stamped using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black onto white card stock. Next she has been coloured using Chameleon Pens - they certainly made getting the different tones easy.  The coloured image has been fussy cut/hand cut using scissors.

Next Tilda has been popped up onto handmade patterned paper that has been embossed using Spellbinders Diamond Lace Frame Cut and Emboss Folder and the  Platinum Die Cutting MachineThe card front has been randomly stamped using postmarks from a Penny Black Inc. stamp set and layered onto a slightly larger white pre-cut card base using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra. Yellow/white twine has been wound around the card front twice and secured on the left of the image through a white button with a bow.

Little Birdie Crafts flowers have been added just below the image and some leaves from my stash glued on either side. A computer generated sentiment is popped up above the flowers using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.

Tilda - A Sweet Wish

Hello friends, welcome and thanks so much for stopping by.  I have been doing a little colouring as a friend came over with a few Magnolia's stamped off - not something I have coloured much at all, but had a lot of fun - I know these images are either YES or No for people, but she is cute and I enjoyed the process of this card.

Tilda has been stamped using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black onto white card stock. Next she has been coloured using Chameleon Pens - they certainly made getting the different tones easy.  The coloured image has been cut/embossed using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Scored and Pierced Ovals Etched Dies and the  Platinum Die Cutting Machine.

The die has been used as s stencil and sponged inside the cutting edge using Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink.  This has been popped up onto a card front that has been cut/embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities Scored and Pierced Rectangles Etched Dies and randomly stamped using postmarks from a Penny Black Inc. stamp set.  The card front has been layered onto a slightly larger teal pre-cut card base using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra.

Small Mulberry Paper Roses have been added to the top right of the Oval and a double Teal Seam Binding Bow glued to the lower left of the die cut oval.  A lace flower, along with a small Mulberry Rose flower have been adhered to the knot of the bow, finishing with Want2Scrap Baby Bling in Turquoise Rhinestones adhered to opposite corners.

SSIC Child's Play

It is great to see you for this week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge.  It is always a plus for my Sunday - I love the fact that it is a 'faith based' challenge and obviously by the number of you that are playing along each week - so do you!

This weeks challenge is brought to us by the 'every lovely' Miesje - who has chosen this scripture for us
"Amen I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God
like a child will not enter it."
Luke 18:17

Miesje has challenged us to make a card/project for a child.

I know, Magnolia's are not normally my style, but when it comes to making a card for a child - well - what can I say!?  I also gave a card making lesson to my MIL's friend and she had purchased this Magnolia and wanted a colouring and card making lesson.

I have coloured Tilda with SU Chalks and a Blender Pen

Adding some flowers and some leaves - thanks to Martha Stewart.

A handmade flower is perfect for the base of the easel card, along with some smaller flowers, lace and pearls.  All DP has been embossed with the SU Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder - a favourite of mine - it is not hard to see why is it!?
This card is for the following Challenges:
Anything Goes - Make Your Own Embellishment - Flower
Clear It Out - Flowers, Flowers and More Flowers
PartyTime Tuesday - Anything Goes + Handmade Flower
The Stamping Boutique - Handmade Flowers
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Paper Playtime - Anything Goes
Stamps R Us - Spring
GingerLoft - DieCuts or Punches
Scrappy Frogs - Flowers and Lace
Allsorts - Blooming Blossoms
Crafty Calendar - April Showers Bring Forth May Flowers
Crafty Emma - Children
Creative Inspirations - Mothers Day/Mum
Our Creative Corner - Handmade Flower, Ribbon (lace) and Bling
By the Cute and Girl - Cute and Girly

This weeks scripture has a very clear message - keep it simple!  So often we analyse and look at theology,  trying to find deeper meaning to scripture and spiritual things, when God tells us in His Word that whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.

It would seem that in our search for the 'meaning of life' and deeper spiritual things, we lose the simplicity of the Love of God.  Jesus always kept it simple, yes there are deeper truths in the Word of God, treasures for us to discover, but the message of the Bible in its entirety is simple and we need to have childlike faith, keeping it simple and accepting it simply.

You can see Miesje's devotional on over at the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge.

Make sure you stop by the Design Team Blogs and see that gorgeous 'works of the heart' they have created for you!!

Thank you for your comments and all of the support you give me - you make blogging such an amazing place to be!!  Your encouragement is such a blessing for me  - it makes my day! I am recovering well, my eye is great but it takes time to fine tune and adjust.  I am able to create (thankfully) but my computer time is till limited due to glare and of course my other eye is desperately in need of surgery - not long now and I will be back with better vision than EVA!!   Sadly, I have not been able to get to all of the cards you have been entering into the challenge - but I will be there shortly.  Thank you for your prayers and the lovely comments you have been leaving me - I  am so blessed by each of you!! God bless you!

A Bird in the Hand

Hello everyone, I thought I would do a quick post before heading off to bed - it is only 11:30pm and an early night for me - gee, I hope I am not awake at 5am!! LOL!

I made this card for two special challenges and they are a bit inter-related for me - this first in the Twisted Sister Challenge to make a get well or an encouragement card and the second was to honour this week's Featured Stamper over on SCS, who is none other than my dear Twisted Sistah and very dear friend, Pat Smethers.

I have not chosen any particular card to case, but just some 'Pat-isms' have been added to my card!! You can see Pat's amazing gallery herePat - I know how you feel about these little Tilda's and I could not resist making one in honour of you!! (The Lolly Man and I think it is only fitting! LOL!) I have used a number of punches in honour of the hundred's of photo corners and flowers you have punched for me, what a labour of love!!

I have added the gorgeous lace that my Mum sent me - it is from my Great Grandmothers collection, which now resides with my Mum....thanks Mum!!  By the way, my Mum is known as SuperNan over at SCS and has been stamping for around 7 months now - if you get a moment I know she would love it if you sent a little 'luv' her way!

For the Twisted Sisters Challenge for last Friday, I decided to make a card  for encouragement - this little image just 'lifts my heart' holding that adorable little bird in her hand (I love birds!)    Each Square has been individually paper peirced and the swirl has had shimmer added, with the flower mounted on foam tape, for dimension and of course that gorgeous little 'bling thing' added!

I am linking this to:
Simple Doodles - Inspire Others - Anything Goes
Magical Crafts - Animal Mania
I have to say I was not too sure about this card and had to ask my DH if it was okay, apparently it is - I would love to hear what you think!  Thank you for your lovely comments - you are always so kind - you know I love seeing that you have visited!  God bless you!

Under the Weather

Last Friday was the Twisted Sister Challenge and yes, you guessed it - I am late!  Our lovely Twisted Sister Phyllis (aka Tater) has challenged us to make a card and have rain on it somewhere - not so easy Tater!!

I remembered I had this image from my friend Melinda (aka Melinda 80) who is affectionately known as the 'Queen of Magnolia's' by those who know her!!  Thanks Mel for these images, it has been ages since I coloured one but I have had so much fun doing it!

Now, I have to say that Tater is known for her dislike of PINK - so just for you my friend I have not used pink at all, a touch of red, but no pink - I am hoping this helps me with the being late factor!!

Tilda is coloured with SU Chalks and a Blender Pen, cut out and popped up on foam dots on some DP which has been distressed and layered onto navy CS.  The main DP is part of a RAK from another Twister Sister - Darla Ryan has been distressed and attached to white CS.  I have added some gorgeous green ribbon (also from Melinda) and some double stitched ribbon.

This photo shows you the dimension more clearly and also the paper piercing of the light argyle, which happened as I needed something to balance the image!  The cloud is also a Magnolia image and has had Kindy Glitz added as has the raindrops.  The sentiment is also popped up on a foam dot with light chalking.

So girls - I am sorry I am late - is this when I QUIETLY mention that I am behind with the last two weeks challenges - oops - hopefully I will catch up!!

Thank for visiting with me today, I hope you are enjoying time with friends and family while remembering what Easter is all about.   Thank you for your lovely comments - you know I love to see that you have been!!  God bless you!

Love is in the Air

Hello everyone.  I have been trying to get this card finished for a few days now and you know how it is, something always comes up (like midnight!! LOL!)  that keeps me from finishing it - but today I just let everything else slide and completed it!  It has been ages since I have made a Magnolia card, I am just slipping into the Magnolia Down Under Challenge and MojoMonday.

The MojoMonday sketch was perfect to use with Tilda, I love all of the layers involved.  The Magnolia Down Under Challenge are asking us to use our stamps differently - this Tilda had a Merry Christmas banner, so I used heart brads over the banner and now it would be great as a Valentine card or to send someone and let them know they are loved.

Tilda has been coloured with Chalks (no surprises there, you know I LOVE my chalks) using a blender pen and popped up onto the DP with foam dots.  All edges on the card have been sponged (of course! LOL)  The beautiful lace is part of a RAK I was sent from my friend Maxine (aka Kiwime) and fits perfectly with this themed card.  I finished off with black gems.

So there you have it - I an thinking that this would be one of my favourite colour combinations, it always seems to work so well, no matter what the card!

I am also linking this card to the ABC Challenge where L is for  layering.
Everybody Art Challenge - favourite colour combo.
Roses on Paper - favourite medium - Chalks & Distressing Ink

Thanks for coming by and for your encouraging comments - you know I love to see that you have called in!  It is Saturday afternoon here and HOT - we are all 'chilling out' inside with the air conditioner on...much nicer! LOL!  I hope you are having a great day and manage to 'chill out' too!  God bless you!

For Shania!!

It is sheer joy to be able to make this card for our dear little friend and neighbour Shania who turns 4 tomorrow.  Some of you have heard me share Shania's story - she has had 4 Open Heart surgeries already in her little life and has sewn herself securley into the hearts of each member of our family!!  This is the first birthday she has had where she hasn't had a surgery - so is a big event!!

I haven't done a Magnolia for a while and this one is perfect as she is having  a 'Fairy Party', not to mention that Shania's Mum, Nat loves Magnolias!  I used the Our Creative Corner Sketch  for inspiration.  It also qualifies for the Creative Card Crew Challenge which is about Celebration AND for the Flutter by Wednesday which is only requiring a butterfly this week!

I have chalked the image and added Kindy Glitz on the wings to give them that extra sparke.  The edges have been sponged and lace has been added along the left edge of the image.  Both the DP and the panel have been embossed and sponged and layered onto black CS.  Nail bling has been added , along with a sentiment and flower,  The sentiment is from PTI, the final touch is the added butterflies, with Nail Bling added.

Thank you for stopping by and for the very kind comments you leave - I look forward to seeing that you have been!  It is raining here and the kids first day back at school after a three week break - I am trying to catch up with a few things.....I hope your day is both relaxing and productive!!  God bless you!
