Friends and Handmade Paper

Hello friends - thanks so much for dropping in.  It is Sunday evening here in the Nations Capital and we are now officially on Daylight Savings - I do love the extra hour of daylight in the evenings, although I know others don't! 

I have a very CAS (Clean and Simple) card to share with you today, using a stamped sentiment I was sent some time ago by my dear friend Maxine.  I have used handmade paper to compliment it - I love the texture the handmade paper adds. The two papers have been adhered down the centre using  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: E-Z Adhesive Runner Ultra.

A 'Stamp' has been cut from Graphic 45 paper and glued to the top right of the card front.  I have added some random postmarks using a stamp from my stash and Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, making sure one of the is across the 'faux stamp'.

Along with strips from two different Washi Tapes - it is amazing how much difference they make - sometimes it is the 'little things!'  The card front has been cut/embossed using the second largest die from the Spellbinders 5 x 7 Matting Basics A Card Creator Etched Dies and the Platinum Die Cutting Machine and popped up onto a slightly larger pre-cut orange card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Little Dude Layout

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.  Today I am sharing a layout with you and the star of the layout is my beautiful grandson - who happens to turn three TODAY!  What a wonderful three years it has been - my heart has never been so full, my eyes overflowed so much and my neck had such loving arms around it!  But back to the layout...I had a pile of over fifty photos and have managed to work through quite a few of them.

The photos have been trimmed and layered onto patterned paper that has been popped onto the 12x12 background at an angle.  Spellbinders Shapeabilities Sunburst Etched Dies by Seth Apter has been cut/embossed and the two largest Dies have been glued onto the lower right corner of the layered photos. Die D-Lites Gears Etched Dies have been cut/embossed in gold card stock and layered into the Sunburst Dies. A large red button has been glued to the centre of the Dies.

Gears have been layered onto the top of the photos along with three red buttons.  The sentiment stickers are used to create the sentiment above the photos and the other part of the sentiment is from Cosmo Cricket.  

The ants are Rub Ons, as is the sentiment on the photo.  The Washi Tape is from my stash.White Paint Pen has been used to add a hand drawn border

Hello friends, it is Monday evening in the Northern Hemisphere and I have to say it has been a very casual kind of day - thankfully!  I have got a lot of deadlines met - which is always a relief and even managed to babysit our grandson this evening - which is always a pleasure.  I hope Monday has been kind to you!

I have a very simply and east card to share with you today. I came across this embossing folder on one of the Craft Buy Swap and Sell Groups on facebook - Ecstasy Crafts 5x7 Dazzling Sunburst and I just had to have it - there is something about it that just makes me smile.  

I used Chameleon Art Pens on the folder to add the golden glow - Mellow Yellow to be precise,  The butterfly embellishment is from my stash, the Washi Tape by none other than Donna Salazar and the sentiment computer generated.  I have also added sequins from my stash.

The embossed layer has been popped up onto a precut card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares and there you have it - I told you it was quick and easy!!

Spellbinders Robo Star Tutorial

Hello friend - I am sharing a tutorial for Spellbinders today - I have up-cycled a door hanger for our grandson, Noah, who is 18 months old and although still a baby he is growing so fast so it needed to be suitable for the little boy he is quickly becoming every day - Spellbinders Robo Star by Licensed Designer Seth Apter (of The Altered Page) are perfect - for any age - and any project.

Spellbinders Products:

• S3-230 Shapeabilities Seth Apter Robo Star Etched Dies
• SCP-001 Celebrations Sea Spray Paper
• PE-100 Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine - 6" Platform
• Other : Imagine Crafts: Memento Ink inTeal Zeal, Sponge Daubers; patterned paper; Kindy Glitz; Washi Tape

1. Cut/emboss one (1) Robo Star #1 #2 #3 (#1 being the smallest) using Sea Spray cardstock.

2. Using scissors, cut the star from the cardstock - you only need to do this in the one place.

3. Arrange the Diecut Robo Stars onto the door hanger that has been precovered using patterned paper.

3. Adhere the Robo Stars using liquid glue.

4. Draw around both the inside and outside of each star using a black Sharpie or similar

5. Add name stickers across the large Robo Star.

6. Adhere Washi Tape around the hanger' and where the patterned paper joins.

7. Apply a coat of sealant.

Spellbinders Basic Scrapbooking with Dies Tutorial

My Spellbinders tutorial today is very quick and easy - sharing how to start using Dies on your layouts/scrapbook pages - nothing too hard but definitely effective! Scrapbooking is such a wonderful way to be the 'Memory Keeper' in the family, recording those precious times for the generations to look back on.  There are so many wonderful Scrapbookers around - it can be daunting for those of us starting out...

Spellbinders Products:

• SCD-012 Celebra'tions Pireced Rectangles
• SCP-013 Whirl White
• PL-001 Platinum Die Cutting and Embossing Machine

Other: Liquid Glue; button; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: E-Z Adhesive Runner, 3D Foam Squares; Sanding Block; Washi Tape; Cosmo Cricket: Alpha Stickers; Corrugated Cardboard; May Arts Ribbon - Sheer ribbon; 2 x 4"x6" photos (portrait); 12 x 12 Patterned paper.

1. Cut/emboss the photos using Pierced Rectangles #5 #6 (#1 being the smallest) using the Platinum Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.
NOTE:  Make sure you use Respositional Tape - or Washi Tape to hold the Dies in place so the spacing is even.

2. Using a Sanding Block and circular motion, lightly sand around the pierced edges, you can see this adds the impression of another layer and makes the photos a little nostalgic - or distressed.
3 Cut patterned paper approx 10" x 6", adhere to patterned paper.  Attach a strip corrugated cardstock across the base of the blue paper using double sided tape.
4. Layer the distressed photos onto a panel of patterned paper, angling each one towards the outside edge.
5. Adhere double sheer bow to where the photos join, adhere a button and heart using liquid glue.
6. Randomly add Washi Tape to the corners of the layout - making each piece a different length and making sure you tear not cut the tape.
7. Add the sentiment stickers above the lower portions of Washi Tape.
8. Add various size buttons using liquid glue, finishing with name and date.

It is as simple as that - and the results are sure to make you more than happy with your layouts - Spellbinders has so many different Dies that help display your memories so beautifully.

Enjoy Life Layout

Hello friends - today I have a layout to share with you - and yes, it is of my adorable grandson, Noah who turned one last month - time has flown by so quickly!  When he was born, I decided to create a Scrapbook of him - rather than a Baby Book and I have been working really hard behind the scenes to fill it - typically, this one has more pages than any of my others...LOL!

I have used Spellbinders 5x7 Em-bossing Folder Maze by Seth Apter of The Altered Page which has been inked and had the photo mounted on it using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  I have also used A stamp from Unity Stamp Company, Kaisercraft rubon, Washi Tape, letters from Authentique Paper, chipboard sentiment from Quick Quotes, along with bits and pieces from my stash.

Spellbinders Simple but Stunning Dies Tutorial

Hello Spellbinders Fans! It is Linda here sharing a Step by Step Tutorial using some of the basic Labels and Core Dies - I do love how effective it is to create beautiful details using one of the basic labels and having it be 'the star!'   Let me show you how easy it is!

Spellbinders Products:

• S4-114 Standard Circles 

          S4-565 Labels Forty  

• PL-001 Platinum Die Cutting and Embossing Machine

Other:

• Imagine Crafts®/Tsukineko®: Memento™ Dye Ink in Nautical Blue
• Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®: E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips and 3D Foam Squares
• Want2Scrap©: Nestabling Heart Circles Pink Rhinestones
• Pink Twine
• Crochet Flower
• Washi Tape
• Sentiment from Hero Arts

Instructions:

1. Cut two (2) Labels Forty Die #6 and one (1) Die #4 (the smallest sized die is #1) using Cotton Candy with the Grand Calibur machine.

2. Score one of the Labels Forty Die Cut #6 (#1 being the smallest) at ½" and fold forward.

3. Place adhesive on the scored area with double sided tape and with the other Labels Forty Nine Die Cut #6, align together to create one shape. Press the adhered area to secure.

4. Cut/emboss one (1) of Labels 40 Die #5 (#1 being the smallest) in patterned paper
5. Cut the Die-cut across the center, turning top half over.  Tape with double sided tape across the join.
6. Sand the embossed edge using a Sanding Block.
7. Attach Washi Tape across the join, trimming the edges.
8. Pop up onto the card base using 3D Foam Squares/

9. Stamp the sentiment using Blue Ink
10. Cut/emboss using Standard Circles LG Die.
11. Pop up onto layered cardbase using 3D Foam Squares
12. Adhere Bling Circle

13 Adhere the crochet Flower using liquid glue.
