PSDT Gift Bags

It is  a quick post from me today as I have spent the last two days looking after a table at the local Shopping Centre with my DH's photographs and my cards while he does the Santa photos - today is our last day (just quietly, I am relieved as we are there 8 hours - arghhh!) LOL!  I am heading out the door as soon as I have shown you these.....

....adorable gift bags that I created using the newest images from "priscillastyles" Store.  I am loving both the gift bag that my friend Ann, the SU Demo showed us at our Scrapbooking night and the gorgeous new image's from Priscilla.

I love this Heart Wreath image - it can be used for so many occasions.....especially with Valentines Day on the horizon - can you believe I am mention Valentine's Day when Christmas is not here yet!!??

You can see the depth of this bag - it has two pockets - and is perfect for a gift card or itunes card - I have also created a tag for inside ....

This one is more cutesy, it is called Be Mine Kitty and just called to be girlie.....how adorable is this kitten....it was so much fun to colour.  This digi comes with the option of having the sentiment 'Be Mine' or no sentiment on the heart, so is very versatile.

After colouring, I cut her out and popped her up on foam tape- the sentiment is a RubOn from Kaiser....

These little bags are easy to make, I have shown them over at CDAC and have been asked to do a tutorial, I will work on one over the Christmas break and show it here too - but be warned - they are also addictive - I made 3 the next night and am sure to be making more....I have some vintage ones planned, I cant wait to make those.

These bags are for the following challenges:
Craft Away Your Days - Punch It Out - both bags
Little Red Wagon - RubOns - bag 2
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes - both bags
Card Makin' Mama's - Anything Goes - both bags
Sugar Sweet Paper Treats - Anything Goes - both bags
Cutie Sunday - Everthing But No Christmas - both bags

I will be back soon with a post showing you the bag I made at Scrapbooking with Ann, plus another gorgeous project we made on the same night - but in the meantime I better not keep Santa waiting....LOL!

Thank you for visiting today and for all of the lovely comments you leave me - I always love to see that you have been - imagine if we could visit in person - what fun!  I do hope that you are enjoying the preparation for Christmas - I love this time of the year !  God bless you all

LOC Christmas Pages

Wow - Christmas is coming fast - are you ready!?!?  Our Scrapbooking Group had our final get together for this year and decided we would make a Calendar for Ann who is our SU Demo and inspiring teacher.  We all created the artwork for one page - I was asked to do two, which if you know me at all, you would know is not problem at all - inspite of being asked the night before!  LOL!

I loved doing December - Christmas - what else but the Layers of Color Reindeer Waltz art stamp set!  I love this reindeer and was happy to have it and every other image used here, stamped and sitting on my desk - in the ''one day I will get to that..." pile - I am sure I am not the only one with one of those!! LOL

I was inspired by my talented friend Gunn, whose Christmas Tags are amazing - I saw the way she had embossed acetate and tried it - I love the effect it has over the reindeer - thanks Gunn

The Pocket Watch is a Spellbinders DieCut that has been embossed and inked with Distressing Inks - I love this DieCut and need to use it more!!  The sentiments are from Stampin' Up.

The next project is for a summery month - the one it was used for I am not sure as I was too busy trying to get two new projects finished - Ann can you help me here!?!  I will show you my other projects in my next post....

I used the wonderful image from Stampin' Up for the background, lightly colouring the ornate frame with SU Chalks and adding that touch of Kindy Glitz that just seems to bring images to life.

They have also been coloured with SU Chalks and a Blender Pen, Kindy Glitz added and some small pearls to finish off!  The DP is from K&Company's McKenna Collection - this was the first stack of DP's that I ever purchased and is still a favourite!

I would like to take this opportunity to say 'THANK YOU ANN for being such a wonderful inspiration and Mentor to me.  I met Ann at some local Markets and spent a lot of time at her stall watching and learning.  I am honoured to call Ann my friend and love the way she evolves with her artwork on a daily basis and loves to take everyone she can on the creative journey that we all love to be on - thank you Ann - you are such an inspiration - I {{{heart}}} you!!!

LOC SSIC Friendship is Precious

This weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is brought to us by our very sweet sister Patti - Patti has chosen the scripture:
Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. ~Ephesians 4:29 NLT"

.

Patti's challenge is "A Way with Words". Create a card or project that will compliment, encourage, or cheer someone in need of uplifting.

I have used the gorgeous Victorian Frame cling art stamp from Layers of Color - I love how elegant it can be!

Feminine was the way to go here - pink and green being the obvious choice!  The frame is coloured with SU Chalks and a Blender Pen.  The Victorian Frame coordinates with Spellbinders Labels 14 - I love the fact that Layers of Color is now a preferred company with Spellbinders - it makes card making a dream!

This gorgeous flower comes from one of the first Blog Candies I won - and it is one of my last ones - arghhh!  LOL!   My DP is some retired SU DP and a favourite of mine, a strip of lace has been added and some pearls attached for a finishing touch.

Words - they are such a powerful force - as the Word of God says they have the power of life and death.  How often so we use them without thinking - I know I have been guilty of that on many occasions and can identify with the words from James as he  talks about bridling the tongue.  It was hard for me, who was always quick with a response, that could often put people in their place, to bridle my tongue and not open my mouth to do irreparable damage - how do I do this???

Every early on in my Christian life I  prayed the prayer

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Today my goal is to find the good and to encourage, to being hope when there is despair, peace for a troubled heart, to being comfort for those hurting...to bring life with my words!
Thank you to this weeks Sponsor

LOC One Reindeer...Two Reindeer..

It is Saturday morning here and finally sunny with a breeze - hopefully some of the flood waters around the regions will be able to subside a bit!  The east coast of Australia is literally underwater to varying degrees and will be making the most of this much needed break weather wise.

Thank you to those of you who have been sending messages and praying for me over this last week and my surprise visit to hospital!  I am happy to report I woke up feeling HUMAN again today - so that has got to be good LOL!  The infection in my leg is looking better and slowly disappearing - so thank you all, you have added such a lovely touch to my otherwise challenging week!!!

As Christmas approaches who can resist the Layers of Color Reindeer Waltz art stamps.  These gorgeous reindeer do all the work with Christmas cards and I am going to show you why!

My DP is made my swiping the Distressing Ink Pad across the embossing folder before adding the card stock and then running the it through the Cuttlebug - don;t you  just love the effect!  My SU Demo and friend Ann showed me how and I have not looked back....I am swiping anything that moves!  LOL!

The reindeer  is embossed with SU Silver Embossing Powder - it highlights all of the wonderful details.  It is then cut out with and Ovals Nestie and backed with the Spellbinders Large Scalloped Oval Die Cut.  This is then mounted onto the embossed CS with foam tape, for dimension.

I have finished off with some Vintage Corners by Cuttlebug and a lovely Satin Bow and a decorative brad - nice and easy and so effective!\

My next card is created using the Reindeer Waltz art stamp  this time it has been stamped with Red Distressing Ink straight into the white card stock!

I used a Fiskar Small Circle Punch to 'ticket' the corners and have sponged around the image to age it slightly.

The snowflake has had some bling added - naturally!  I thought I would show you a close up of the reindeer so you can see the detailed filigree work - isnt it divine!

These cards are for the following Challenges:
Delightful Challenges - Embossing - card 1

LOC PaperArtsy

Hello everyone - things have been a bit slow on my blog this week as I have been under the weather (so to speak) and ended up spending Wednesday in the hospital being pumped full on antibiotics to get rid of a nasty infection - so it is not that I didn't want to be here - YOU KNOW I DID!  LOL!

I am sharing this card made with the Layers of Color Star Flower Frame cling art stamp.  It has been fabulous having these gorgeous frames that coordinate with Spellbinders - you will see here Labels 16.

I felt like creating something fun and a little bit funky for a change - purple is very different for me and I am loving it combined with yellow.

The fabulous flower is also Layers of Colour from the Flowering Gem art stamp set - it has been coloured with SU Chalks and had some of my favourite Kindy Glitz added...it often amazes me that I am not really a 'blingy' person but when I am creating... well, you can see for yourself!!  LOL!

I have also used the Textiles Embossing Folder and some Basic Grey DP along with the fabulous purple feather that was gathering dust in my stash!

This card if for the following challenges:

SSIC LOC A Touch of Red

Sunday comes around so quickly and with it comes the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - this weeks challenge is brought to us by the lovely Rebekka who has chosen the verse:

'Come now and let us reason together," Says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.'
  Isaiah 1:18

Rebekkah has brought us a Color Challenge this week - "White with a splash of Red"  This is so not my comfort zone but I had fun doing it and am happy with the outcome!

This is very different for me  - I am still desperately trying to get not only my desk clear but work through those bits and pieces that gather in 'places' - you know how it is!!  LOL!!  I had the Spellbinders Lacy Circles already cut and added a RubOn that was part of a RAK - I am thinking it is from Stampin' Up.

The background is white card stock embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.

I have added a strip of pleated gingham DP and added a gorgeous flower from Wild Orchid Flowers
 - these are divine!!

A Vintage Comer has been added - I love the white on white with the added texture!!  This was a very quick card!!

What a wonderful scripture - God reassures us that although we all know what our sins are like, He will make them as white as snow!  For some of us this concept is harder to grasp - we know the state of our hearts and what lies within - how incredible is it to understand that God  takes our sins, discoloured and abhorrent as they are to Him and turns them white as snow - this is the manner of Love He displays to us!!

This scripture contains the essence of the Salvation message - it tells us of the power of the Blood of Jesus, shed for you and me. It is nothing we could do that could buy a drop of the Blood of Jesus that was shed for our salvation and washes our sins as white as snow!!

It is very easy, as we approach Christmas to celebrate the birth of our Saviour, forgetting that He did not remain in the Manger, but fulfilled His destiny - to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!! As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, I pray that we will remember that....

WISE MEN STILL SEEK HIM!!

Thank you to our sponsor this week

The prize is a $15.00 Gift Certificate to the CDS Store!

Gunns'n Roses

How do you like this image - isn't it divine!  I received it in a RAK from my very dear Midnight Madness Design Team Member and friend, Gunn - it has been sitting on my desk for ages waiting for some colour to hit it!!

I saw this image used on one of Gunn's cards and fell in love with it, so it was a extra blessing when I saw it was included amongst the other items in the RAK!!  Thank you Gunn - I hope I did it justice!!

I played with the idea of cutting the rose and popping it up but decided to colour it and try to add dimension that way - I used SU Chalks and a Blender Pen - I love the depth that you can achieve with this method.  The collage background has had light touches of chalks added!

The DP is from the box of offcuts and is DCWV La Creme - it is a favourite of mine, although I don't seem to get to it enough - I added a tag from one of my new Spellbinders Fancy Labels - I LOVE this set!!  Some braid was threaded through and the finishing touches of those gorgeous copper Kaiser half pearls - how can you go wrong.  !?!?

This card is for the following Challenges:
Some Odd Girl - Girlie
Creative Belli Challenge - 'R' Embellishments
My Time to Craft - Vintage
Crafty Little Place - Anything Goes

LOC Faith Art Friday - Heaven

It is Faith Art Friday at Layers of Color

My card this week was inspired by the anniversary of the day our friends 13 year old son, Paul, passed away - unexpectedly, without seemingly any reason - this is the fourth anniversary. Paul's passing touched each and every life in the small school community that he was part of, along with our three children

I wanted the card to symbolise the beauty of Heaven, to capture the majesty of God  and to remind our friends of the days to come....

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea no longer is.
And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, having been prepared as a bride, having been adorned for her Husband. '

The embossed heart is symbolic of the heart of God
'And I heard a great voice out of Heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God with men!
And He will tabernacle with them, and they will be His people,
and God Himself will be with them as their God.'

The wings represent our hearts being lifted up by God.  They speak of shelter.

'And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
And death shall be no longer, nor mourning, nor outcry,
nor will there be pain any more; for the first things passed away.
And the One sitting on the throne said, Behold! I make all things new.
And He says to me, Write, because these Words are faithful and true.'

The Old Hymn reminds me that there will be singing and rejoicing  in Heaven, the Throne of God will be surrounded with worship for our God!!  I chose these words specifically for our dear friends, to remind them that one sweet day, they will be reunited with their precious son - how beautiful are these words from the book of Revelation

'And He said to me, It is done!
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending.
To the one thirsting, I will freely give of the fountain of the Water of Life.
The one overcoming will inherit all things,
and I will be God to him, and he will be the son to Me.'
  Revelation 21:1-7

God's Word brings health to our flesh and life to our bones!!
Worthy is the Lamb!!

This card is for the following challenges:
Tip Top Tuesday - Anything Goes
Paper Cutz - Anything Goes
Tuesday Throwdown - Embellish It
Moving Along with the Times - For Someone Special
Southern Girls - It's Heating Up - heat embossed
