Some People Feel the Rain

Hello friends - thanks so much for stopping by - it is always lovely to know that you have been.  Today I am sharing a piece I have created something  little out of the norm for me (or is it!?!)

I have used a stamped image I was given a long time ago and stamped a Close to My Heart Sentiment (borrowed from a friend) using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black.  I have sponged the background using Memento Inks in Desert Sand, Summer Sky and a light touch of Espresso Truffle. The sponged background has been splashed with stamp cleaner to get this effect - I usually use water, but am loving the depth of the 'spritz' using Stamp cleaner.

I am not sure if I am going to turn this into a card, journal or add it to a canvas - or even a layout  - but there is lots of time for that - what do you think?

This project is linked to the following challenges:
WordArt Wednesdays - Anything Goes

Dog-gone!!

Hello friends - today I have a fun card to share with you - a little change of pace, but that is a good thing - isn't it!?  I have had a lot of fun with this card - who can resist this adorable puppy....

I have had a lot of fun with this card - who can resist that adorable puppy....I have stamped him onto white card stock using Imagine Memento in Tuxedo Black and coloured him using Chameleon Pens.

The cactus is from the Spellbinders Cacti Wild & Free by Debi Adams Stamp & Die Set and has been sponged using white ink to add some texture.  The puppy has been popped up next to the Cactus using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The background has been created using Imagine Inks and the white splatters have been added using a white Sharpie pen.

The sentiment has been computer generated and glued to the torn corrugated cardboard across the lower portion of the card - as you can see - this is a very easy card - but one I am sure we all need to send at one time or another - or is that just me!? Wink:wink!

This card is for the following challenges:

It's a Man Thing

Hello friends, we are warm and cosy inside - the same cannot be said for the weather outside - an Antarctic blast is expected this weekend and it is building up daily.....what better weather to stay inside and create!! My card today was created for a masculine birthday

The image from Hot off the Press 'Masculine Collage' has been stamped using Imagine Crafts Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and coloured using Memento Markers and an Aqua Pen.

The image has been hand-cut and layered onto a Spellbinders Decorative Labels One that has been cut/embossed, the die used as a stencil before removing the Die-cut, the inside being sponged using Delicata Golden Glitz and a Sponge Dauber.  The cog image has been stamped prior to die cutting.  The layered Die has then been attached to the pre-cut card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  The sentiment has been stamped using VersaFine Vintage Sepia.  Finishing off with random splatters of white and grey paint.

This card has been linked to:

Hearts and Roses Bezel

Hello Blog Friends - I have been working on a number of different projects - one thing I love to create is these gorgeous Bezels using all sorts of embellishments and Ice Resin.

Each Bezel is unique and 'shines' in it's own right.  I do make them to sell and am doing this through Treasure Trove Canberra on facebook.  Please feel free to pop over and browse, there are many unique pieces, including furnishings.  My husband upcycles furniture and it sells quickly - some pieces in 20 minutes - nothing stays there too long!!

I have added special touches with the goal of adding warm and interest.  The Ice Resin is jewelry quality and is the most amazing stuff - I love the way glitter seems to float' in it.

Thank you for your comments and all of the support you give me - you make blogging such an amazing place to be!! Your encouragement is such a blessing for me - it makes my day! God bless you!

Steampunked Frame

Hello everyone - it is lovely to see you - as always!  For those of you who may remember my UFO pile in my last post (you can see it here)- I am happy to show you one of the cards I have created using one of the UFOs - unfinished objects that is!  LOL!

I used this wonderful SteamPunk Frame from Delicious Doodles - I won it and 4 other divine digis in the Raise the Bar Challenge - I hae been waiting for an opportunity to use it!

I printed the image twice and cut out the cogs, inking them, popping them  up onto the original image on foam tape for that added dimension.  Corrugated card and old gold brads blend beautifully.

The hardware is from my stash and works so well with the feel of the card!

Bakers Twine is a new FAVOURITE of mine (believe me the list is long!!)  I had a little piece in my stash and am using it at every opportunity.

The sentiment and image are from Darkroom Door - a set my DH gave me for Christmas - I don't use it enough, but I am sure it will see the light of day more often after this card!

One last photo to show you the dimension - I am very happy with my first attempt at SteamPunk - a style I am going to explore more - any advice would be most welcome!

This card is for the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles - Anything Goes
Fashionista Friday - Earth Day - Recycle, Reuse or Renew - Corrugated card
Simply Create - Time to Rock the Metal
Shelly's Images - Show Us What You Got
Creative Craft World - Recycle Something - Corrugated card
Alys Sunday Challenge - Bakers Twine
I Did It Creations - I image, 2 Papers, 3 Embellishments
Sparkle's Forum - Anything Goes

Thanks you for visiting with me today - I hope you are enjoying the Easter break - here in Australia it is ANZAC Day, which is a public holiday both here and New Zealand.  Today we remember the ANZAC soldiers and pray for those still serving overseas

It is five day weekend for most people here.....plenty of time for those who have overindulged in treats to recover! LOL!
God bless you!

LOC Rosy Hue

Who among us doesn't love roses!?!  They are my favourite flowers - how could I not love the Layers of Color Vintage Rose art stamp set - it is divine!!

I have been on a run of making card that are quick and easy - as I need to build up my supplies for the Boutiques where I sell them - I felt a slight panic when I saw how low they are getting - so out came the Vintage Rose art stamp set.

I inked it with ink pads, adding the pink to the centre of the image and dabbing green around the edges - it is not an exact form of colouring but I do like the way it turns out - works very well with vintage or shabby chic!

The ribbon is from a divine birthday RAK that I received as I was creating this card - don't you just love the postal system - it made my birthday last over a month!  LOL!  It is totally gorgeous and I will try and find out where it is from.  The dyed Seam Binding was also part of the RAK - delish!!  The brad has been threaded through a pearl slider/buckle to make it more feminine - what do you think!

The sentiment is from the Layers of Color Sent With Love art stamp set, I love this sentiment - it is a great feeling to get a card 'just because....'  The divine Rose Embossing is a RAK from my Mum, who ran some through her Cuttlebug for me - I love this Embossing Folder and have discovered it was a Limited Edition - so I cannot get it now - if you see it somewhere - please let me know - I would appreciate that so much!

LOC CP Embroidered Flight

I have created this card using Layers of Color Embroidered Butterfly cling art stamp - I just love butterflies - as we all do and cannot go past the Layers of Color butterflies - they just come to life the minute they are stamped - what more could we want!?!?

I have used a music sheet from an old Hymnal - I love using these sheets on pages - they hold their own charm an add an instant vintage touch - perfect for me!

The Embroidered Butterfly has been coloured with SU Chalks and a Blender Pen and had 3D Kindy Glitz added for texture and that touch of shimmer!

The semi circle is part of a plastic doily - I am not sure where it came from (LOL) and the flowers are from the Layers of Color Flowering Gems art stamp set.

I have finished off with this divine lace, part of my stash and some pearls I have added to make a swirl.

This card is for the following challenges:

MMSC65 All Lit Up & Party Animal

Who doesn't love Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge time - not me!!!  Each week we love to the inspiration you bring us and this past week has been no exception - you are all amazing!!  This week I have had the privilege of playing with one of the digi's from our weekly sponsor our very own Priscilla, of "priscillastyles" Store

Don't you love this image - my Mum has a lamp like this in her house and it is fabulous so I was excited to see Priscilla draw one.  I used a mix of Chalks and Prismacolors to get the right shade of yellow - I am not really a yellow person but it just seemed to go with this image for me!

I used DP from DCWV One Upon a TIme' Stack and added a strip of CS embossed with the D'Vine Swirls Embossing Folder - I always love the movement this folder gives to a card!   The image is cut out and popped up on foam dots, onto some white CS that has been distressed and had some paper piercing added to the corners!  I added three small circles to the top and bottom - to look like scallops!!

How did you go with the circle - I was glad to have this SU one on hand and cut some acetate out and tapped it to the back of the circle - it worked well! PHEW!!  A layered flower and some nail bling is added as final touches.

You know I wasn't going to resist one of Michelle Perkett's images don't you - how is this adorable puppy - way too irresistible for me!  I printed it twice and cut out one image, colouring it with SU Chalks and popping it up on foam dots!

I used light grey around some of the edges and added some glitter around the tag - hard to see I know!  Kaiser flowers have been added to the top and the bottom and attached with white brads,

The sentiment circle is from an older Stampin' Up set (thank you Melinda!!) and is popped up on foam dots!  You can see the dimension here....

So there you have it - now it is your turn!!  Here is this weeks sketch...it's "YOUR PICK" Make it fancy, clean and simple, or somewhere in-between. Remember to click on the sneak peek button on the side bar for the following weeks sketch each Friday.
