Butterfly Kisses

I am back with another quick and easy card to share with you, using Webster's Pages and a negative Die from Spellbinders Paper Arts.

The patterned paper with the circle cut out is a negative Die from the Splendid Circles Die that has been embossed using the Spellbinders M-bossabilities - Garden Delight, I have used the B plate.  I love it that the M-bossabilities are double sided - so much variety!!

The bling around the circle is from Want2Scrap - I am addicted to the bling they have - it adds so much to a card and so easily!  The sentiment is from the Butterfly Kisses set designed by NinaB Designs for The Craft's Meow.

The Border is from the Spellbinders Ironworks Accents Die and the sentiment has been cut out using the Spellbinders Grommets Tags.  All dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.

NinaB Designs - Exciting News

It is a very exciting day for me - finally I get to share something that I have had to keep quiet for what seems like an eternity - I am both thrilled and honoured to be part of the NinaB Designs Dream Team.

and what a Team it is, these ladies are amazingly talented, please make sure you pop over and visit each member of the 'Dream Team', but put on your seat belt - you are in for quite a ride!

Lea Lawson * Linda Lucas  (that's me) * Mona Pendleton *

It is such a pleasure to be working with Nina, who I originally met on the Layers of Color Design Team.  I love her work and it is exciting to have the pleasure of working with Nina's creations

I have used the Butterfly Kisses set illustrated by NinaB Designs,  for The Craft's Meow

This set is adorable, inspired by Nina's girls.  It reminds me of my childhood - who doesn't love blowing Dandelion Flowers, or 'fairies' as we used to call them.  I have used the Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles Die as a frame for this card, cutting it with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur

The image has been stamped twice with Tsukineko Versafine Sepia Ink, cutting out the wings of the second image, colouring them with Scattered Straw Distressing Ink and popping them up with foam tape.  I have added some bling from Want2Scrap - and I have to say I am loving this stuff - another addiction coming on.....

The butterfly is also from the Butterfly Kisses set and has been stamped twice, cut out and popped up on a Seam Binding bow, on layers of  Seam Binding and lace.

Buttons, Mulberry Roses and pearls finish this card off.....

I am sure you are a great fan of Nina's too - this lady is so gifted, designing stamps for a number of companies, a newly Licensed Designer for Spellbinders and also designs for Want2Scrap - all the things we LOVE!!

Thank you for stopping by today to share my exciting news, I hope you are inspired and join in this wonderful journey we are just beginning.  To add to my excitement, I have another two BIG announcements to share with you over the next two weeks - but all in good time! LOL!
God bless you

Cute! Cute! Cute!

With New Zealand as my homeland, how could I resist this darling little hedgehog by Penny Black, especially when I won this set over a year ago in Pauline C's gorgeous Blog Candy.

After a very 'full on' week I decided to do some colouring as therapy.... using Stampin' Up Chalks/Pastels and a Blender Pen

Spellbinders Classic Circles LG and Lacey Circle Dies have been but with my Grand Calibur (love that Die Cutting Machine)

The sentiment is from a Clear Stamp set picked up at BigW and has been but using the Spellbinders  Grommet Tags Die.

The Embossing Folder is from Stampin' Up! and the flowers are some lace from my stash

Lots of dimension and summery-ness (LOL)

SSIC Happy Birthday

It is Sunday evening here in the Southern Hemisphere and that means it is time for this weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - I know we all say it each week - but doesn't it come around so quickly!

This week the scripture is brought to us by MariLynn who has chosen:

For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:1

In honor of Christ's birthdayMariLynn has challenged us to make a birthday card

This birthday card was created for my DS who turned 17 a week ago.  I decided it was time to tidy my desk and get ready for anything new that may arrive around, say, 25 December (LOL) and the best way to do this is to use the things that are already on it - see - multitasking!

This sentiment from the Layers of Color Sweet Silhouettes clear art stamp set was perfect for this occasion and was even better as I had precut it with the Spellbinders Grommet Tags Die, illustrated by Nina Brackett.  I use the Spellbinders Grand Calibur for all of the cutting I so - it is fabulous and I am totally addicted and not needing a cure! LOL!

I also used some Tim Holtz supplies - the divine embossing folder is perfect, symbolic of time and my DS growing up (too fast I might add) and the Umbrella Man - has been run off for me by a friend - so 'so-o-o' need this Die - it all came together so easily for a more CAS card - I have done a few of these now - a bit skeery for me! LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:
Wee memories - Anything goes
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Simply Create Too - Embossing
Totally Papercrafts – Anything but Christmas
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Card + sentiment
Ruby's Rainbow - monochrome
Crimbo Crackers -  Embossing
Stamps R Us - Emboss It
Make it Monday - Anything Goes

SSIC LOC The Birds of the Air

It is time for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge, this week I am honoured to be sharing the devotional

And am bringing the scripture from Mathew:

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Mat 6:25-34

One thing in life is clear - there is plenty to worry about, Jesus tells us clearly in v25, that we are not to worry, infact He specifically lists things we are not to worry about - He knows us so well!

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? (v25)

There are many areas we tend to worry about and Jesus answers them - it seems to be the most natural thing to do - worry about where we will live, what we will eat, what job we will have, infact we worry about what we don't have and if we have any wealth we worry about losing it - We could add our own list of concerns...aging, accidents, approval of friends and peers, war, terrorism, death and in some cases even life. There’s no end to the list of things we can worry about.....

Worrying pulls us in many different directions - it causes us to fear. How can we have hope when our hearts are full of fear, no matter what direction we turn, it confronts us. Our minds become consumed and we are pulled in every direction, literally worrying ourselves sick! Worry has never solved a problem! The truth is that worrying doesn’t ADD to our lives - it takes away from our lives- it takes away, eating into hours - but can also consume us for weeks, months and in some case years. Can you think of one good thing worry has added to your life? Worrying is futile.

Worry stops us from trusting God. In reality there is no point worrying about those things that are out of our hands - nothing we can do can change them and we need to trust God with them. Although worrying has physical effects, Jesus is dwelling on the spiritual side of the issue. As Christians we should be living a life of trusting God - not like those people who are not in relationship with God...who carry around the weight of the world on their shoulders.

The rest of God’s creation does not worry, but God provides for them. Will he not do the same for us? Look at the birds of the air - they sing regardless of circumstances - have you ever seen a bird worry? God provides their every need.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereofMat 6:25-34

Trust God to provide for us as He has promised - by seeking first His kingdom you eliminate the need to worry. The only place you will find security, peace, love and joy in this world is when you are seeking FIRST God’s Kingdom!

I have used Layers of Color Backyard Birds, Glad Tidings clear art stamp sets, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three, Layered Poinsettia and the Grand Calibur for Die Cutting.  The DP is Stampin' Up.
