Wonderful

How adorable is this teacup - so cute!  I am sure it would come as no surprise to you to learn it is a Spellbinder Paper Arts Die.

The Nested Tea Cups Shapeabilities® have been designed for Spellbinders by my dear friend  Laura Kirste Campbell.  It has been sponged using Scattered Straw Distress Ink, while still in the Die.

The saucer is from the Floral Doily Motifs Shapeabilities® and the placement from the Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities, the pearls are from Want2Scrap.  The thick stripped ribbon is recycled.

The gorgeous faux lace is from the Spellbinders Damask Accents Shapeabilities®, also designed by  Laura Kirste Campbell.  All of my Dies have been cut using the Grand Calibur - I love the way you can cut so many Dies at the one time - you have to love that!

The sentiment is from the Penny Black set Social Butterfly - would it surprise you to know that Laura Kirste Campbell designed this too!  As you can tell, I am her number one fan!!

LOC NR Eggshell Blues

I have been having some fun with the Layers of Color Nestlings cling art stamp - isn't it fabulous!  I am sure you know that birds Nests are so 'in' right now, but in reality - when are they not!!

I have stamped the Nestling on white card stock and cut it out with the Spellbinders Classic Oval, layering it onto some DP from Pink Paislee,  this has been cut out using the Labels Twenty One    Nestibilitie and the Spellbinders Grand Calibur - I just love this machine - it cuts so crisp and embosses so deeply!!

The corner dies are from the Floral Doily Accents Dies - I have cut this one in half and slipped it in behind the Classic Oval Die.

You can see the layers and dimension in this photo - I love layers - I hardly make a card without them!!  I think this card has a masculine feel to it....

UFO Sighting....

I am happy to report that I have completed one more UFO (unfinished Object) and the pile is getting smaller - that has to be a good thing - right!?! LOL!

This card is created using that gorgeous Stampin' Up Hydrangea - it is such a divine flower, I have one growing at home, I love the old fashioned feel it has.

I inked the image with Tsukineko Versafine, inking the leaves in Spanish Moss - it is easy to use this technique on this image as it is quite a large one.  It has been layered onto a Spellbinders Floral Doily Motif, I love this DieCut and even more so because it has been designed by the wonderful Nina Brackett - that lady is amazingly talented!!  I have cut it out using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur -  I do love this DieCut machine - it cuts and embosses so easily - where were we before Spellbinders - they have changed Papercraft forever!! LOL!

The DP has been embossed with a Tim Holtz Flourish Embossing Folder and a Tim Holtz Flourish has been added - anything Tim Holtz is wonderful - right!?

Finishing off with some vintage lace
This card is for the following challenges;

Demin and Lace

I have had some extra playtime ( wahoo!!) and managed to ink up this gorgeous hydrangea that I was given for my birthday by my good friend and SU Demo Ann.

Hydrangeas are such a lovely vintage type flower and I instantly fell in love with this set when I saw it.

I used Tsukineko Versafine Ink in Majestic Blue and Spanish Moss - gorgeous to use, I applied the Blue ink to the flower head and then lighly added the green around the leaves - not precision but effective and oh so quick!!

The image has been cut out and embossed using the Classic Oval Nestibilitie and the Spellbinders Grand Calibur - what a fabulous tool - every DieCut comes out with crisp edges and the embossed edge - is etched deeply - I love it!

The DP is White Core Card Stock that has been run through the Cuttlebug with the Tim Holtz Flourishes Embossing Folder (YUMBLY!) and lightly sanded to show the fabulous blue underneath - yet another product I love!  LOL!

The lace is from my stash, along with the button!!  This quick and easy card has taken on a very 'Shabby Chic' flavour - I am happy with that!!

MMSC94 Ballerina Blues

Happy Tuesday!  It just seems like Tuesdays come and go so quickly these days - but we all love the fact that it is time for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.  I think sketch challenges are among my favourite and you cannot go past Priscilla's sketches for something to inspire you!

For me, this weeks sketch was a little different -= and I love that!  The variety just keeps the brain ticking - and I know I DEFINITELY need that!  LOL!  I have used the gorgeous Ballerina Resting from "priscillastyles" Stores.  She is divine - infact I used her last week and just had to use her again!!

U have coloured her with Prismacolor Pencils and  Odourless Mineral Spirits, adding some tulle under her dress - a major fete seeing as I decided to do that AFTER I had popped her up with foam tape - but here there is a will, there is a way!! LOL!

I made the flowers and added a LARGE pearl (thanks Gunn) fo the centre.

I have also coloured it with some of the gorgeous Spray Glimmer Mist from Lindy's Stamp Gang - our monthly sponsor.  This product is amazing and sadly, I have yet to capture it enough on the cards to show it off at it's best!  There are also touches on the dress - it is divine IRL!!  You are going to have to take my word on that!

SSIC Fragrant Rose

Hello and happy Sunday!   With Sunday comes many things and one of them is the - Stampin' Sister in Christ Challenge, which is  is brought to us this week by the very lovely Chris.

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. Isaiah 40:7

Chris has challenged us to use stamped flowers on your creation...(dp, embossing or paper flowers do not count as a stamped flower)

The image I have used is part of a RAK from my friend Gunn - I have held onto this for sometime and am glad I did - it is perfect for this week challenge.  It has been coloured with SU Chalks and a Blender Pen then cut out, popped up on foam tape and layered into a Floral Doily Nestibilitie that has been cut out with my Grand Calibur.

You can see the dimension in this photo.  I like to use thinner foam tape to give some dimension but not have it too high/

The sheet music is from an old Hymnal and the crochet lace and bow finish the card off - in my opinion!  LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:
Stampin for the Weekend - Spring
Craft Us Crazy - Anything that Reminds You of Nature
Cute Card Thursday - Signs of Spring
Delightful Challenges - Welcome Spring
Paper Play - Shabby Chic/ Vintage
Scrapbook Sisters - Spring
Simply Create - The Power of Flowers

Die Cut Dreams - Spring Garden Scene
By the Cute and Girly - Springtime

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. Isaiah 40:7

There is not much assurity in this day and age that something will last forever - everything is disposable and only made to last a certain time.  the aim of manufacturers is no longer to give us a product that will last a lifetime, but instead to provide a product that will last for a few years and then be replaced with a newer more expensive model.

Sadly, even marriage is not looked at the same - it is no longer a 'til death do us part' commitment but a commitment that people make until it doesn't work for them anymore - is has become disposable and then onto the next one!

God's Word however is not disposable and does not come with an use by date, but it endures forever - it stands the test of time and remains the same - no tarnishing or erosion - no corruption of any kind.  God's Word it true and pure and His promises are there for us today, the same as they were there for our ancestors in days gone by.  How amazing is this.

I have to wonder if this concept is one that gets harder for people to grasp, with the way society has changed - the understanding of everlasting is not one that is seen or taught - how much more important is it then that we share Gods Word with our children and their children - that they can know and understand that God is a God of His Word !

Make sure you stop by the Design Team Blogs and see that gorgeous 'works of the heart' they have created for you!!  There is even more inspiration to see with our three new Design Team Sistah's
