Baby Girl

Hello friends, welcome and thanks so much for stopping by.  I have a Baby card to share with you today.   Baby cards seem to be one of the cards that people keep - they are a gift in themselves and are often a keepsake that becomes a treasure - a great opportunity to 'layer up' a card and add those extra touches that we often omit to use.

The card front has been cut using patterned paper from my stash and layered into a slightly larger pink card base using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L E- Adhesive Runner Ultra.  The next layer has been cut/embossed using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Hannah Elise Layering Frame Small Etched Dies Chantilly Paper Lace Collection by Becca Feeken using both the  Filigree Frame and the Outer Layer; using the Platinum Die Cutting Machine and white card stock. This has been popped up onto the card front using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L  3D Foam Squares in the centre and around the edges of the frame.  Next cut/emboss the Inner Frame Layer using light pink card stock.  Pop up the pink Inner Frame across the centre of the Filigree Frame.  Adhere the sentiment sticker to the centre of the small oval and the feet sticker above on the larger filigree layer (as shown in the photo)

Thin pink Satin ribbon had been added around the middle of the card front and secured using a triple bow.  The flowers have been sponged using Imagine Memento Luxe Ink in Rose Bud, layered and glued to the knot of the bow.  A Want2Scrap pearl from the 250 Count White Pearls has been adhered to the centre of the flower and small pearls onto the filigree frame.

Baby Blue

Hello friends, welcome and thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope your week is going smoothly - it is a Public Holiday here in Australia, we commemorate ANZAC Day - Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. Today marks the 104th anniversary of the landing of ANZAC Soldiers, Sailors, Medical personnel and animals on Gallipoli, Services are held where thousands gather to pay their respect and honour these brave souls.

I have a Baby card to share with you today using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Layered Bundle of Joy Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken. The Outline Arch and the Stork dies have been cut/embossed together using white card stock.  The Bag has been cut/embossed using patterned paper and sponged before removing from the Die.  Next it has been glued onto the original die.

The card front has been cut/embossed using Authentique Paper and layered into slightly larger white card stock;  and onto a slightly larger pre-cut A-Frame Blue card base.using double sided tape.  A row of scalloped white lace had been glued across the lower portion of the card front and the Die cut frame/image popped up into the centre of the card front, just above the row of lace using Scrapbook Adhesives BY 3L 3D Foam Squares.

The sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Vintage Elegance Becca Feeken Giving Occasions Stamp and Die Set has been stamped using Imagine Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black.  This has been trimmed and a 'dove tail' added on the right end and sponged using Summer Sky Ink.  Next it has been layered across the framed image using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  A double white Seam Binding bow has been glued to the left side of the Scalloped Lace and three small Little Birdie Crafts flowers glued to the knot of the bow.

Spellbinders Happy 21st Tutorial

Hello friends - welcome and thanks so much for visiting.  Today I am excited to be sharing a tutorial for Spellbinders using Dies from the Amazing Paper Grace® Collection, including the newly released - Shadowbox Collection! How beautiful are these Dies - and not as hard as they look to assemble - which is great don't you think!  I have combined three different sets of Dies from the Collection and wanted to show you how versatile they are - as you will see as you follow along.

'Shadowbox Collection by Becca Feeken is a series of etched dies that help create beautiful shadow boxes and beyond. It has it all, from adjustable shadow boxes to layered scenery to accent embellishment, that will help make wonderful creations. These sets can be used alone, within the collection and some match with her 3D Card etched die sets in the 3D Vignette Collection.'- Spellbinders

1. Trim the outside of the negative die from the Callista Rectangle Shadowbox Frame Etched Dies leaving a border of approx 2cm.

2. Apply Crafty Foam Tape around all of the edges.

3. Cut/emboss one Card Creator French Flair Etched Dies using grey/blue patterned paper.

4. Glue to floral patterned paper measuring 5" x 7".

5. Peel backing tape off the Foam tape and adhere onto the layered card font.

6. Cut/emboss four (4) Corners from the Callista Rectangle Shadowbox Frame using pink card, glue to each corner.

7. Cut/emboss four (4) Top pieces, from the Callista Rectangle Shadowbox Frame and pink card stock, glue one to each side.

8. Cut/emboss one Oval from the Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame Etched Dies using the medium oval and the slatted oval and white card stock.

9. Cut/emboss one pink oval from the Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame Etched Dies using the medium oval only.

10. Glue the white Oval onto the pink oval.

11.Cut/emboss the required numbers from the Filigree Numbers Etched Dies using the cutting edge only. One set in pink and one using patterned paper.

12. Layer the patterned numbers onto the pink, slightly offsetting to create a shadow.

13. Pop up the layered numbers onto the layered Lisette Oval using 3D Foam Squares.

14. Adhere onto the centre of the card front using double sided tape.

15. Cut/emboss the 'Happy' sentiment from the Oh Happy Day Elegant 3D Vignettes using both white and pink card stock.

16. Layer the  white die cut sentiment onto the pink, slightly offsetting to create a shadow.

17. Glue onto the card front above the layered Lissette Oval.

18. Adhere a thick strip of sheer ribbon around the lower portion of the card front , securing at the front using strong tape.

19. Glue a double sheer bow to the left side of the ribbon and a lace flower to the knot of the bow.

20. Add a large white pearl to the centre of the lace flower and medium white pearls around the filigree frame as shown in the main photo.

Spellbinders Increasing in Value Tutorial

Hello friends, thanks so much for stopping by.   I am sharing a tutprial for Spellbinders on my Blog today -it is a special one too.  I have scheduled this post as I have popped across to New Zealand for my Mum's 80th birthday, which was Saturday just gone.  It is a family gathering with siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins and their family and dear friends - going to be quite something - and this is the card I created for her....

'This Curled Grace Oval etched die set is part of the Vintage Elegance Collection which is the latest design from Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken. This line perfectly goes with Becca's style of elegant, classic and just so stunning.' - Spellbinders

1. Fold 30cm x 10cm white cardstock in half, score.
2. Cut/emboss using Curled Grace Oval using the Outer Border; making sure to place the scored fold inside the cutting edge to form the card base

3. Cut/emboss one Curled Grace Oval using both the Outer Border and the Inlaid Curls #5 #6. Adhere the gold card front to the card base using double sided tape.

4. Cut/emboss patterned paper using Curled Grace Oval Inner Border #4, pop up onto the layered card base using 3D Foam Squares.

5.Stamp the sentiment from the Special Birthday Sentiments Stamps onto white card stock using Black Ink.
6.Cut/emboss using Standard Circles #4 using black card stock and white card stock using #3; pop up onto layered card base using 3D Foam Squares.
7. Adhere Nestabling around the black circle.
8. Glue the flowers across the top of the Curled Grace Oval, above the sentiment circles.

9. Cut/emboss one Ribbon Slide using gold card stock, thread the green seam binding through the Ribbon Slide and adhere around the card front using a 3D Foam Square in the centre of the slide for dimension – securing both ends of the seam binding on the inside front using strong tape.

10. Glue a double Seam Binding bow to the left of the ribbon slide.
11.Cut/emboss the numbers from the Special Moments Collection using gold card stock and glue to white card stock - trim to fit on the Ribbon Slide.
12.Remove the shank from a recycled gold button and glue to the centre of the bow.

Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace Shadowbox Tutorial

Hello friends - thanks so much for visiting.  Today I am excited to be sharing a card I created using some of the new Shadow Box Collection by Becca Feeken.   For the beginner these dies may look a little confusing at first, hopefully this tutorial will clarify how they work.  This tutorial is photo heavy but it is the easiest way to show you all of the steps.  There is a link to Becca's Video Tutorial at the end of the Tutorial.

'Within each set is 5 dies - 4 make up the adjustable frames and the tiny one is a hinge/corner piece. The 4 adjustable frame pieces come in two designs - they mirror each other so ensure you use matching ones.' - Spellbinders

1. Cut 4 strips of card stock 3" (the width of the dies) x  6".  Using the 3/4 inch set  and cut two of each Shadowbox Dies using white card stock .  

2. Aligning the dies - spot the little corners? Becca refers to these as 'bump outs'. Align that 'bump out' with the corner of your card, Here's the dies positioned and taped to the lengths of card. This will create two sides of the frame so you'll need to do this twice.

3. Run through your die cutting machine, no need to emboss. Remove the dies, repeat until you have four (4) pieces - two of each design.

4. Next, use a score board or if you haven't got one, a ruler and a scoring tool. Notice the die has already imprinted lines top and bottom? You are scoring so those lines join up. All four (4) pieces scored.  You get faster as you do more!

5. Affix a strong tape to each the wide side of each panel

6. Now fold along all those score lines, remove your tape and fix each side down.

7. You will then have 4 frame pieces, two look straight and two mitred. The mitred ones have sticking out tabs. Those tabs tuck inside to give extra reinforcement.
8. Also cut 4 little hinge pieces, again no need to emboss. Now to join all the frame pieces.

9. Alternate mitred with straight pieces.  Fold the little hinges in half, apply glue and slot into the end of each frame piece. Take your time so the line in the hinge aligns with the top of your frame piece. You'll then find you can slot each frame piece in at right angles.

NOTE: make sure you have all the fronts of your frame pieces in a line when assembling, it is so easy to get this wrong! 

10. I have also used an optional method with hinge pieces - as well as the above and adhered to

 on the outside to hold the corners, they not only look fabulous but add extra strength to the Shadowbox.

11. Once all pieces are glued , gently push your frame into the corner of your Scorpal to make sure it is aligned - it is a very sturdy frame - an amazing design. 

12. Attach a back piece of card and that is the first stage completed.

13. Cut one piece of  Kraft card stock to measure 11.5cm x 11.5cm (the same as the centre of the Shadowbox.  

14. Cut/emboss the tree in the centre using both the insert and the outer edge.  Pop up into the frame using 3D Foam Squares.

15. Cut/emboss the Deer in the centre of white card stock measuring 11.5cm x 11.5 cm using both the inset and the outer edge.

16. Lightly sponge the Deer inset using ink and sponge daubers.  Pop up into the frame using 3D Foam Squares.

17. Cut/emboss the Sentiment layer in the centre of cream card stock measurng 11.5cm x 11.5 cm also using 3D Foam Squares.

18. Cut/emboss two complete sets of Cinch and Go IV  flowers, sponge the centre of each die cut using Rhubarb Stalk Ink and a sponge dauber.

19. Shape the petals using a foam mat and stylus, layer the smallest three into a flower, using glue - offsetting the leaves .  Repeat using the larger three die cuts.

20. Cut/emboss three sets of leaves using green card stock.  Shape using a foam mat and stylus.  

21.Adhere three leaves to both flowers using glue.

22. Cut/emboss one Vintage Starburst Valance and Gatefold Etched Dies using cream card stock, trim the top of the die cut so the bottom of the curve sits above the inserts.

23. Cut the Vintage Starburst Valance and Gatefold Etched Die down the centre, glue each half to the top of the frame as shown in the main photo.

24. Glue a strip of vintage lace across the bottom of the frame, trim any excess off each side.

25. Glue seven (7) small yellow pearls to the centre of each flower, next glue one large flower to each corner and a small flower beside it.

26. Cut/emboss one Shadow Box Ribbon Threader using cream card stock and the Ladder Outer - straight outer and the scalloped inner dies. Trim to size.

27. Thread the seam binding through the Ribbon Threader and secure at the back with double sided tape.

28. Glue to the top of the Shadow Box,
