LOC Happy Days - Card 2

I am back today to show you the second card for my Card Design Class at my LSS Scrap n Stuff, next week!

This card is the quick card of the set - I usually try to make one more complex and one simple one - it does not come much easier then this!

The Basic Grey DP has been embossed with the Stylised Flowers Embossing Folder.

I have stamped the Backyard Bird image with two Distressing Inks - Spiced Marmalade and Walnut Stain and cut it out using Spellbinders Classic Circle and Lacey Circles Nestibilities.

Finishing off with a row of thin ribbon and lace, along with some half pearls.  Nice and easy!

This card is for the following challenges:
My Time to Craft - Here comes Summer
Oldie But a Goodie - Must Use Stamp at least 6 Months Old
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Pile It On - Going Around in Circles
Secret Crafter - Embossing

MMSC110 Hip Chick

I have had a lot of fun with this weeks Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge!

How do you like this cool image from KennyK Collections - who just happens to be this momths sponsor - we asre having so much fun with these images.

I just happen to love the 70's - so just had to do down the hippy/retro path - with the colours and DP from Bella.

The swirls are from the Spellbinders Doodle Part DieCut and work well with Priscillas sketch and of course there has to be bling - the bigger the better!  LOL!

Paisley embossing - a perfect retro touch - although personally paisley is never out of fashion - I love the stuff!  LOL!

LOC Happy Days - Card 1

Thank you for stopping by today - I always love to see you and thought I would show you one of the cards I am going to be teaching at my Card Design Class at the LSS next week.

I try and bring different styles of card each time, creating one Fancy Fold and then one quick and easy - that way of we get excited and carried away with the first one, the next one is easy to finish at home - so far we have done pretty well with time!

I have used Layers of Color art stamp sets - my LSS, Scrap n Stuff is the first store in Australia to be carrying Layers of Color and it is literally flying off the shelves - the classes are full and creativity flowing!

I have used the Flutterescent and Butterfly Collector art stamp sets, stamping them, cutting out and popping them up.

The word 'Happy' and 'day' comes from the Happy Wishes art stamp set, it has been stamped and cut out with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur and the Labels 4 Nestibilitie.  This has been cut in half and had 'day' added separately.

This sentiment is also from the Flutterescent art stamp set and the butterfly from the Butterfly Collector.

The second card is the easy card and I will show you that tomorrow - I don't want to bore you with an UBER long post!  LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:
Crafty Emma - Anything But Square
Our Creative Corner - Your Style
Secret Crafter - Embossing
Sugar Creek Hollow - Tic Tac Toe - Embossing, DieCut, Flowers
Bloggers Challenge - Things with Wings
Sew Many Cards - Dry Embossing

You can see more of my projects in my Layers of Color Gallery, while you are there make sure you check out the other Design Team galleries there is so much inspiration waiting to be discovered, we are thrilled that Layers of Color is a Spellbinders Preferred Product Partner.

Who Said Stampin' is Boring!!

Today I hosted a SU Workshop run by my friend Ann - she is an incredible teacher and I never come away from time with Ann without learning something and being inspired!

Today we had a lot of fun - I am not sure if there is more laughter or stamping at these events - you can see the photos further down the post to see what we got up to today....

Our Make and Take was created using the SU Nature Walk set - my DH got me this set for Mother's Day and it was great to use it for the first time (shhhh!)  Don't you love collage - Ann is so good at it, I have admired her cards and loved creating this one!!

We stamped, sponged, coloured and spritzed - and this is the end result - what do you think!?!

Ann also showed us more uses for our Chalks/Pastels - something I use everyday - I love them used with Versamark

and created some handmade flowers - you will see those on some projects in the future....

On the lighter side of things we took a break for some 'planking'......

that was inspired by these photos of my Mum

What a gal - I learnt everything I know from her! LOL!  This woman raised 4 children and 14 Foster children - never a dull moment I can tell you!  Thanks Mum for the laugh today - this was the last thing I expected when I opened an email - it made me laugh out loud - YOU ROCK MUM! LOL!

We finished off a fun time with sweet Pavlova and coffee - and lots of fabulous company - a recipe for a perfect day!

I would like to thanks the wonderful ladies who came today, you all helped me get a new set of Chalks/Pastels - and I am very grateful - not to mention the Embossing Folders and Stamps that I am adding to my collection because of SU's amazing deal and my wonderful friends!!

This card is for the following challenges:
Bloggers Challenge - Things with Wings - bird, bees
Poodles Parlour - Come Fly with Me
Sew Many Cards - Dry Embossing
Stampin' For the Weekend - My Favourite Things - vintage, sponging, embossing
Scrapbook Sisters - Anything Goes
Everybody Art Challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting with me today - I love to see that you have been - you always make my day!!  It is Saturday night here and I am chilling out - literally, as it is very cold here at nights - and preparing for Sunday.....I think it will be an early night tonight - well, that is my intention anyway!!  LOL!  God bless you!

LOC FAF You Guide Me

Faith Art Friday comes around so quickly, those of you who know me, would know that Faith Art is a passion of mine - I am honoured to be able to host this post at Layers of Color - thank you Laura for the opportunities you give me - it is an honour!

'If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there Your hand will guide me, and Your strength will support me.'
Psalm 139:9-10

How wonderful to have the assurance that we do not walk this journey on our own, God's word tells us that.....

'Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.'
John 16:13

God's guidance is not for 'special occassions' or for specific situations.....
'And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Isa 58:11

It is not something that we can boast about or take any credit for - rather.....

'The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.'
Psalm 25:9

God is eternal and will guide us in both life and death....

'For this God is our God forever and ever: he will be our guide unto death.'
Psalm 48:14

What better response is there, than to echo the words of the Psalmist....

'For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.'
Psalm 31:3
May this be the cry of our hearts!
I have used the Backyard Birds, Nature Walk, Royal Birds and Merci Bouquet art stamp sets to create this project!  This is a page from my Vintage Paper Bag Album - my favourite kind of project.  I have decided that this would be a great place to keep some of my Faith Art - you can expect to see more album pages in the future!

Sparkle

I am back with another quick card - there have been a lot of those lately, I am creating these inbetween the New Release projects I am creating - I am looking forward to being able to show you some of those soon!!

This card is created using a Hero Arts image that has very kindly been lent to me by my dear friend Denise.  I do love chandeliers - they are so ambient and bring such a wonderful feel, although they can be considered Retro, they will always be elegant and timeless - and you have to love that!!

I have used some Pink Paislee patterned paper offcuts that have been gathering on my desk

Added an older Stampin' Up sentiment from the Warm Words set, some pleated DP and this divine trim, also from a RAK - thank you to my friends - you are all so good to me and help make my cards interesting!!

I have added a border strip using the Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents, this has been cut with the Spellbinders grand Calibur.

Don't you just love to see those bits and pieces we collect on our desks, come together as something pretty - it makes my day when I know I am doing something to save the planet!  LOL!
