Layered Flight

Today's card is created using an image designed by the amazingly talented Laura Kirste Campbell for Penny Black.

The image is coloured lightly using SU Chalks/Pastels and a Blender Pen

and layered onto Spellbinders Dies - the lower layers are small medallions from the Parisian Motifs, that have been tucked behind a Classic Oval, then a  Floral Ovals added and finishing off with the coordinating Die - Labels Twenty.

It makes is so much quicker and easier using so many Dies on a card when you can cut them all at the one tome using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.
Finishing off with some gorgeous Want2Scrap bling designed by NinaB Designs - this is one of my favourites - no card seems to be complete without it these days! LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:

SSIC Torn

I hope you have had a good week - the weekend always flies by quicker than any other days - but with the weekend comes the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge.

This weeks challenge is hosted by the lovely Peggysue,

"The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom."
Matthew 27:51

Peggysue has challenged us to use torn paper technique (just tear paper with your fingers and use it somehow on your card, but it must be torn, not cut)

I have stamped a Tim Holtz image onto kraft card and cut it out using the A2 Matting Basics A Nestabilities, that has been layered onto the A2 Fancy Postage Edges Nestabilities.  The Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur

The sentiment is from a retired Layers of Color set designed by NinaB Designs

My torn strip has been sponged and added down the left hand side of the card - I love using tearing on cards and should do it more often!

Your Recovery

It seems it never rains it pours - I have just seen that this draft post has been published when it is not complete - arghhhhh!  Thankfully I am back online at home - no more McDonald's Cappuccino's for a little while (LOL) Our line has been fixed and our faulty modem has been replaced - hopefully Blogger will behave...

I have had to top up my cards at the Shop that sells them - so quick cards are needed.....and they are wanting sentiments, something that I don't always add, I am now having to be a bit more specific....I hope I remember when I am creating! LOL!

My Spellbinders Paper Arts Dies make it so easy - love the Floral Ovals - always a 'go to' Die.  My image is a free digi and has been layered into blue card.

The lace flower has been cut from a strip of lace and added under a stamped flower that I have had lying around....

The addition of a Seam Binding bow and some gorgeous Want2Scrap Pearls - love them - I hope this card makes the recipient feel a lot better!!

This card is for the following challenges:

SB Paris

I am sharing a very quick post with you today, as the Internet is down for a few days due to problems that need a Technician – and we all know that could take some time.....arghhhh!  Thankfully our kids College is right next to McDonalds and they have free Wi-Fi and a cappuccino.

My card is created using the Spellbinders Licensed Dies designed by Samantha Walker – if you missed my Step by Step Tutorial using Samantha’s Dies, you can see it here.  For this card I used the French Frills – I love this Eiffel Tower.

I have cut the card using the Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight Nestabilities from Gold textured card  (you can see the shimmer in the photo above) – then rubbed it with ColorBox Espresso ink.  A  Spellbinders Labels Eight Nestabilities has been cut and sanded, then layered onto it, followed by a Spellbinders Classic Ovals that has been sponged with ColorBox Curry Ink , using the Die as a mask.  All if my Dies have been cut at once using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur – I love the fact that you can cut so many Dies at the one time!!

The Eiffel Tower is adhered.  The sentiment has been cut using the Classic Ovals Nestabilities and sponged with ColorBox Curry Ink while still in the Die.

The Want2Scrap Swirls Finesse add the finishing touches to the card.

Thank you for stopping by today, I do miss being able to check in during the day and visit you on your Blogs or facebook, but am grateful to be able to make the most of the free Wi-Fi available.  Just incase you are wondering, I have not spent as long as you may think at McDonald – I have pretyped this and used the good old ‘cut and paste’ function – have to love that! LOL!  I will be back to visit you when I can – hopefully from the comfort of my home soon!!

Old Truck

Today I am sharing a card created with the Darkroom Door Old Truck Photo Stamp - these are amazing and so wonderful to colour.

I am needing to make quite a few Father's Day cards for the Shop that sells my cards - they like to have them well in advance - so the rush is on!

I stamped the image using Tsukineko Versafine - Onyx Black and coloured it using the ink that had soaked my daubers - how easy is that!  I know I should wash them often, but hey - 'if it ain't broke - don't fix it!' LOL!

I added a couple of strips of scrap paper lying around - one of them being torn corrugated card

A Father's Day sentiment and some brads finish off this card - nice and easy!!

This card is for the following challenges:
Great Impressions - "Show us your best stay in the lines coloring"
The Perfect Sentiment - anything goes
Waste Not Wednesday - always "use your forgotten stuff" (corrugated card)

Yet to Be

Another quick card from me today - the school holidays are coming to an end here and we have family visiting too - so we are trying to squeeze in everything that we can - so my posts and shorter and not quite as frequent, but that will change later in the week.

In the meantime I am sharing this card I created using a Crafty Secrets image, Websters Pages paper and some recycled lace.

I have also added one of the smaller Dies from the Spellbinders Parisian Motifs Shapeabilities - the die has been cut in half and added along the right side of the image.  Along with a KaiserCraft flower and some white flowers I recycled.

As usual, my Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur.

Vintage Roses

Today I am sharing a card I created some time ago, for Mother's Day (obviously).  I have been busy creating but am unable to show you just yet as they are for some Guest Designers spots I am excited to be doing - one in August and the other September.

I have created my own Designer Paper using the retired Vintage Roses set by Laura Kirste Campbell - I love the romantic 'Shabby' feel of these roses.  I have stamped onto an exsisting piece of pale patterned paper and lightly coloured the images with SU Chalks/Pastels

The addition of Want2Scrap Bling was perfect - who doesn't love roses and pearls - and these pearls are divine - Swirls Finesse - love them!

The sentiment is also a retired Set - Sent with Love by Laura Kirste Campbell.

One easy card as you can see, but fun to make - just ask the ladies from my Card Design Classes - they did a wonderful job!

This card is for the following challenges:
LEJ Designs  - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp and Show... - Anything Goes
Whoopsi Daisy Use Up Your Stash (paper)
