LOC Beautiful Babe

Altering things is so much fun, especially when it is for the arrival of a baby....

I have created my own DP by using the gorgeous little flower from the Layers of Color Merci Bouquet clear art stamp set and lightly colouring using Stampin' Up Chalks and a Blender Pen

Layering up one of the butterflies from the Butterfly Collector clear art stamp set and adding a gorgeous Mulberry Rose to the centre.

The wings have been popped up with some foam tape - I love the dimension this gives.

Gorgeous roses, lace and pearls - all divine and could not be resisted for this framed Album

The photo is the frame is of the darling baby this gift is for - Tia Joy.  When her parents sent us this card, I know it had to be the centrepiece for something sweet....

SSIC True to You

It is Sunday and time for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - and we all love that don't we! It is my honour to be hosting this weeks challenge and have chosen:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8

My challenge is to create a card/project true to your style - show us who you really are!

It should come as no surprise that I love vintage, it would have to be my signature style, although I am loving a touch of shabby vintage as well - such a pretty style.  But for this challenge, I have created a vintage card - sing some divine paper from an old Dressmaking Book, that I was given by a friend - it makes the most perfect DP.

I have used the Spellbinders Decorative Dress Forms Die, the stand is created using the Spellbinders Elegant Posts Die, cutting both Dies with the Grand Calibur.

The sentiment is from the Layers of Color Sweet Silhouettes clear art stamp set and has been cut with the Spellbinders Classic Circles Die LG.

One thing I am sure of - our minds are always full...of one thing or another - we would all have a different answer if I asked you 'what was on your mind today?'  Our answer would depend on those things we fill our mind with, our hope and dreams, those things that both consume our minds and feed the 'inner man'.

In this day and age, it is becoming increasing harder to think only on the above things, we are constantly bombarded by the negative influences that confront us in everyday life through the many forms of media that is at our fingertips today.  We may try to justify the things that go through our minds that are anything but true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report; virtuous, and praiseworthy - I believe Paul himself would have a battle on his hands.....

In this verse the Greek word for 'think'  means 'to keep on thinking.'  It is not enough to think about these things once and move onto the next thing - our minds need to be continually filled, they should be part of our everyday  spiritual diet .  The more we think of these things, the sooner it becomes a way of life for us and we in turn LIVE what we believe - becoming more like Christ to those who are searching for Him.

This card is for the following challenges:
BasicGrey - Favourite Things (Dies)
Craft Your Days Away - Distressing
Drunken Stampers - Use Something New (DP)
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle - Anything Goes
Card Makin' Mamas - Something Old
Truly Scrumptious - something forgotten
The Stamping Boutique - Die Cuts

LOC Birthday Butterflies

I seem to be forever trying to clear my desk, but never seem to get there.  I do have to add though, the process can be some of my most creative time, using those bits and pieces left over from other cards to create something new - I love that feeling!

I have used a Stampin' Up! Embossing Folder as a frame

Adding some Webster's Pages DP (can't waste that now could I?!) and  a butterfly from the Layers of Color Butterfly Collector clear art stamp set

The sentiment is from the Layers of Color Sentimental Banners clear art stamp set and has been but out with the Spellbinders Ribbon Banners Dies using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur - but you knew that...didn't you!? LOL!

You can see more of my projects in my Layers of Color Gallery, while you are there make sure you check out the other Design Team galleries there is so much inspiration waiting to be discovered, we are thrilled that Layers of Color is a Spellbinders Preferred Product Partner

Australia Day

Happy Australia Day to all of those in Australia and living elsewhere - it is such a great day to celebrate, we live in such a blessed land and have so much to be grateful for.

I could not resist sharing this layout I have recently completed, the photo was taken on Australia Day two years ago

Our family we attended the Big Breakfast held in the city and had a fabulous time....I thought the Websters Pages DP was perfect for the occasion - and just quietly, it made creating this layout so easy.

Adding Spellbinders Classic Scallops Edgeability, this has been cut with my Grand Calibur, I have also added some cute braid and ric ric added to highlight the chipboard sentiment.  I have just' reconnnected' with chipboard and have used it for the circle, covering it with some Stampin' Up DP - from my endless pile of leftovers

3D flowers, crochet lace and more ric rac - don't you love the citrus colour - so summery!

Rubons are perfect for layouts - and is the finishing touch for this layout.

This layout is for the following challenges:

LOC Fairy Box

Today I have a Gift Box to show you - I love to 'mix it up' - to tell you the truth I never thought of myself as an 'Off the Page' girl, but call it 'Altered Art' and you have my full attention! LOL!

I have used the Layers of Color Fairy Wishes clear clear art stamp set, illustrated by Nina Brackett.

The wings have been stamped twice and popped up with foam tape - some sponging added using Tsukineko Versafine Inks - my all time favourite Ink and the mandatory sparkle - where would a fairy be without it!

On the edges of the Gift Box I have used the Layers of Color Belle Brocade Art Stencil

Tulle is always such a pretty touch, feminine with none of the added 'fru fru' (don't you just love that word! LOL)  The rose is from Wild Orchid....and the sentiments from Layers of Color.

This weeks challenge is brought to you by Kris, who has chosen

Proverbs 3:3-4

Kris has challenged us to make a heart stand out in your card/project

I have used the divine Fleur Heart from Layers of Color using Tsukineko Sepia Versafine Ink - this was one of the first stamps that caught my eye when I discovered Layers of Color - I love it just as much today.

along with the Merci Bouquet and Christmas Blessings to create a Shabby Hand Stamped background.

The sentiment from the Fairy Wishes Clear art stamp set has been popped up on foam tape in the middle - I love the effect this gives....along with the added shabbiness of the gorgeous trim

DRD Chookless Hoolie

I am loving having some time to create come long overdue layouts and am even happier to use this DP I created at a Scrapbooking night held my friend Ann many many months ago.

The photo is of my older brother, Laurie, who just made an EPIC ride across Australia to be with us for Christmas, on his motorbike and then had to make the trip all the way back - something like 3912 kms each way!!!  How could I resist using the Darkroom Door Motorcycle Photo Image stamp - it is the first time I have used it.  I coloured it using Distressing Ink and Daubers - a great technique for colouring any image.

The Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets Die by Donna Salazar have been cut out with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur and  just had to be used on this layout, along with the Tim Holtz Embossing Folder - all symbolic!

This is a special layout for me - it was so wonderful having Laurie here for  nearly two weeks - we had not seen him for 11 years, infact the last time was at my Father's funeral - it was also the first time in thirty years I have had a family member here for Christmas - so well worth scrapbooking!!

It is a pleasure to be linking this to the Scrapbooking Haven Anything Goes Cyber Crop that is happening now over at the Scrapbooking Haven site - it is my first time playing along with one of these - I am hoping to be inspired to create more.....you can check it out here, you might even want to join in!

This layout is also for the following challenges:
Bloggers - Elements of Time
Crop Stop - Distressed, Vintage or Shabby Chic
Shelly's Images - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting with me - you know I love to see you!  It is Saturday night here and we are enjoying a very quiet night - my daughters have gone to stay with our friends at the beach for three nights, so it is just my husband, son and me.  We made the most of smaller numbers and went out for dinner tonight, a rare treat!!  The boys are settled in watching a rerun of 'Back to the Future - Part Two' and I making the most of the opportunity and crafting - hopefully!   I hope you have a great weekend and get some creative time for yourself - there is nothing like it!!  God bless you!
