"A bird does not sing because it has the answer
It sings because it has a song"
-Maya Angelo'

I have always love the sentiment by Maya Angelo and could not resist the Fiskar stamp set when I saw it,  I have stamped the image using IMAGINECrafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye Ink in Espresso Truffle.  I have also used a Unity stamp as the main image, this too has been stamped using IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye Ink in Espresso Truffle.  The card base and patterned paper has been cut using the A2 Curved Matting Basics A Spellbinders® Nestabilities® Card Creator Die.  All Dies  have been cut using the Grand Calibur® Machine.

The main paper has been embossed using the Doily Art Celebra'tions™ 3D embossing folder.  The doily has been inked using IMAGINECrafts®/Tsukineko® Memento Luxe™ Mixed Media Pigment Ink in Rose Bud and a Sponge Dauber.  Seam binding has been added, along with a double Seam Binding bow, topped with bling.  I have also used  Scrapbook by Adhesives by 3L - 3D Foam Squares for dimension ,and E-Z Runner on this card.

Good morning Blog Friends - it is Saturday here and we are enjoying the weekend - I have a quick post for you today as I am still fine tuning for being part of the Art is You Australian Mixed Media Roadshow - how exciting is that - I still have to pinch myself!!

Butterflies never seem to be too far away from my cards, but I cannot help myself - and seriously - who does not love butterflies!!  This one is from a pack my daughter gave me - the last one too, they make it so easy to create something pretty.

The butterfly has been layered onto the Labels Twenty Spellbinders® Nestabilities® which has been cut/embossed using the the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.  The Die has been used as a Stencil and sponged using  Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko Delicata in Golden Glitz.

The sentiment is from  Penny Black Inc. and has been adhered to the Fancy Tags Two Spellbinders® Shapeabilities®  The Nestabling is from Want2ScrapScrapbook by Adhesives by 3L - 3D Foam Squares and E-Z Runner have been used on these cards.

Lacey Bird

I am excited to be finally able to share a card with you using one of the new Penny Black images illustrated by my dear friend and ever so talented Laura Kirste Campbell - those of you who LOVED Layers of Color and have been missing Laura's artistic flair, will be happy to know she is back and ROCKING the images.

I love this Lacey Bird and the fact that it Co-ordinates with the Spellbinders Labels Twenty Nestabilities is such a plus.

The image has been cut out using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine  and coloured with SU Chalks/Pastels and my new secret weapon - the Tsukineko fantastix - I love these for colouring, they make it so easy - and we love that don't we!

The wing has been partially cut around and popped up onto a foam dot to give dimension but not bulk - to make it easier for posting. The shimmer is added with 3D Kindy Glitz - i love the texture this gives - it adds another dimension to the card.

This card is for the following challenges:

It's a Man Thing

I am back and on a mission - to use what is on my desk - and believe me, it is quite a challenge as things gather and seem to multiply over night - do you know that feeling?  I am sure YOU are not like that! LOL!

I have created these quick masculinbe cards using some remnants of paper from Webster's Pages, I was inspired by Nina Brackett and the way she is using her scraps so creatively, she created something similar to these cards, so I had to CASE her.

I have also used the Spellbinders Ribbon Banners along with the co-ordinating retired Layers of Color Sentimental Banners clear art stamp set, also illustrated by Nina Brackett.

The Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine

Finishing off with a little bit of black bling from Want2Scrap - it does not get much easier than this!

This card is for the following challenges:

Australia Day

Happy Australia Day to all of those in Australia and living elsewhere - it is such a great day to celebrate, we live in such a blessed land and have so much to be grateful for.

I could not resist sharing this layout I have recently completed, the photo was taken on Australia Day two years ago

Our family we attended the Big Breakfast held in the city and had a fabulous time....I thought the Websters Pages DP was perfect for the occasion - and just quietly, it made creating this layout so easy.

Adding Spellbinders Classic Scallops Edgeability, this has been cut with my Grand Calibur, I have also added some cute braid and ric ric added to highlight the chipboard sentiment.  I have just' reconnnected' with chipboard and have used it for the circle, covering it with some Stampin' Up DP - from my endless pile of leftovers

3D flowers, crochet lace and more ric rac - don't you love the citrus colour - so summery!

LOC You're a Masterpiece

I have been wanting to create some layouts for a while now - stocked up on some Webster's Pages (YUMBLY) and had photos printed - and here is the first one - hopefully of many!!

The DP is from the Your Life. Beautiful range and is so lovely I was hesitant to cover it too much.  I am teaching this layout at my local LSS and have found that it is best to keep it simple - so it is perfect!

But I could not resist adding the divine Layers of Color Beloved Wings art stamp set and the gorgeous Crown from the Regal Wings art stamp set - they just seem to go hand in hand!

The butterflies are the Embroidered Butterfly cling art stamp, the gorgeous lace is part of a very special RAK I received. I have also used the Spellbinders Grand Calibur for the Floral Doily Motif DieCut.  I have used gold paper and sponged it with StazOn to give it a metallic look.  Finishing off with the Tim Holtz Flourish, that has been embossed with the Textiles Embossing Folder.

This layout is for the following projects:
Art Impressions Stamp Challenge - Distressing
Crafty Purple Frog - Pearls and Swirls
Just For Fun - Anything Goes
Paper Play - Anything But a Card
Divas by Design - DieCuts/Punches
Flutterby Wednesdays - Must Include Fairy/Angel or Butterfly - Open Challenge
