Tutu Sweet

How adorable is this gorgeous image from Penny Black®, Inc. It certainly lives up to it's name - Tutu Sweet

This was one of the cards we created cat Card Design Class - the main emphasis being on colouring that adorable Tutu to get some depth happening - I used IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Markers in Angel Pink and Rose Bud.

I have also used the wonderful A2 Filigree Delight Spellbinders® Nestabilities® Card Creator Dies, designed by Licensed Designer Becca Feeken.   These have been cut and embossed using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.  Before the Die is removed, it has been used as a Stencil, sponging the inside with IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® VersaMagic™ Chalk Pigment Ink in Pixie Dust.  The pearls are from Want2Scrap©

Stamp the Penny Black® Inc. - flower gallery image using Memento Markers - Pear Tart, Bamboo Shoot, Summer Sky, Dandelion

Pop the coloured image onto the sponged Labels Twenty-Nine Nestabilities using foam squares.  Add a strip of patterned paper that has been cut using the A2 Curved Borders One Spellbinders™ Borderabilities®, followed by Seam Binding along the top of this piece.  Add the layered image a Seam binding bow with a Mulberry Rose.  Finishing off with a Want2Scrap© - Swirls Finesse

AIR March Tutorial

I am having a lot of fun playing with all sorts of products from Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko.
For my first AIR (Artist in Residence) Tutorial for March I have created something very different for me.

I have used the new All Purpose Ink to colour on canvas - it is so easy to get a great look and it is permanent - you have to love that!!

Preferred Promotional Partners:
Other:  Acrylic Block, Iron, Lace x2, Lace Flowers x2, buttons x4, white cotton for attaching buttons and lace.

I started by using StazOn Jet Back to stamp the newly released Penny Black® Inc
trailing beauty cling stamp onto the Canvas

Using a separate Fantastix - Brush Tip for each colour, start by adding yellow to the flowers.  The Fantastix holds a lot of paint and applies to easily- you will not need to be dipping it into the All Purpose Ink  too often.

Repeat the process for each colour.  It is not recommended to wash the Fantastix, I have added a sticker to the ones I have used and am keeping them specifically for the All Purpose Ink they have been used for.

Once you have finished colouring, wait until the paint is dry and iron with a DRY iron to set the paint.  It is that easy!

Now to add those touches that make it our own....I have added lace handles, securing them by hand sewing a button that has been layered onto a lace flower.

My flowers have been cut from a remnant of lace - I sat for some time carefully separating them - well worth it I think!  They add a pretty and soft touch under the buttons from my stash.

I hope you are inspired to 'think outside the square' and try something different - the possibilities are endless, especially used with other Tsukineko inks and products.

Rose Tree

This fabulous stamp set by Penny Black makes the easiest cards

I have inked the image using Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko Versafine - Spanish Moss - I love this ink, it is like stamping with silk.  The image is then cut out using the Spellbinders Labels Thirty Nestabilities®

Added some Mulberry Roses to the branches...and some thick RicRac from my stash.  The sentiment is also stamped in Spanish Moss, cut using Spellbinders Standard Circles SML and popped up on to a pink circle for dimension.  All Dies are cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.
