SBH Teisha Layout

I thought it was time I shared a layout with you, I created this one when I was a Guest Designer for The Scrapbooking Haven in February.

I could not resist this photo of the newest member of our tribe - Teisha, that was taken by my DH, who just happens to be a photographer.

The DP is from Echo Park and some of the flowers are Prisma

Chipboard letters - don't you love it when things you have sitting around on your desk come together on a project!

I have cut two of the Tim Holtz Birdcage and created an open door, adhering this over a picture of a bird, from a card....I love the way it looks like she is eyeing up the bird, cause in real life, she would be! LOL!

This layout is for the dollowing challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks - Anything but a card
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything made with paper goes
Paper Play - Something old, something new
S J Papercrafts - Flowers plus include red or pink
Scrapbook Sisters - Spring Flowers
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Scrapalicious - anything goes

It is Friday afternoon and very wet here in Canberra...although I am grateful we are not one of those who have been affected by the flooding, so many places have been either evacuated or are on alert!

We did have our own little drama, our paving filled up with water and came right up under the windows.  , it ended up needing a visit from the SES, who were wonderful and helped ease the situation very quickly!

These wonderful guys are great and have helped so many people who stand to lose so much!

they were in and out so quickly...and headed off three houses down the street - a busy day in our little street!

Thank you for visiting today - I always appreciate the time it has taken you to come and leave a comment - I read each one and you know I love to see you! I hope you are having a great day and finding a little 'you' time!' God bless you!

Scrapbooking Havens Guest Designer - The Story of Rinaldo

I am excited to be one of the Guest Designers over at Scrapbooking Haven this month

I was inspired by Amy's January Sketch and could not wait to play along with the February Challenge - it was the kick start I needed!

Amy sent me some gorgeous DP to play with divine lace, ribbon and flowers - yes I know, it is a tough job but someone has to do it! LOL!

My layout is a masculine one, so I was careful not to add too much lace and any flowers - but this is the only one - the other projects you will see during the month of February will be 'fully loaded!' LOL!

I have used Stampin' Up! Rubons and old vintage buttons from my stash

adding a border using the Layers of Color Belle Brocade art stencil

You can see some of the lace trim that is available at The Scrapbooking Haven, neatly tucked away behind the photo, I love the effect this has added and still stayed masculine!

Bold patterned paper is fun to create with - you can see the gorgeous range that Amy has at Scrapbooking Haven.

You can see one of my other layouts here - I am sure you will be inspired by the February Sketch while you are there!

This project is for the following challenges:

Partytime Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Shopping Our Stash - People Who Need People
Crafty Boots - Something Inspired by a Song Title (Love Story)

Australia Day

Happy Australia Day to all of those in Australia and living elsewhere - it is such a great day to celebrate, we live in such a blessed land and have so much to be grateful for.

I could not resist sharing this layout I have recently completed, the photo was taken on Australia Day two years ago

Our family we attended the Big Breakfast held in the city and had a fabulous time....I thought the Websters Pages DP was perfect for the occasion - and just quietly, it made creating this layout so easy.

Adding Spellbinders Classic Scallops Edgeability, this has been cut with my Grand Calibur, I have also added some cute braid and ric ric added to highlight the chipboard sentiment.  I have just' reconnnected' with chipboard and have used it for the circle, covering it with some Stampin' Up DP - from my endless pile of leftovers

3D flowers, crochet lace and more ric rac - don't you love the citrus colour - so summery!

Rubons are perfect for layouts - and is the finishing touch for this layout.

This layout is for the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Sweet Stamps - Love
Cupcake Craft - All You Need Is Love
Hooked on Crafts - Something Bright
Incy Wincy Designs - Anything BUT a Card
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes

DRD Chookless Hoolie

I am loving having some time to create come long overdue layouts and am even happier to use this DP I created at a Scrapbooking night held my friend Ann many many months ago.

The photo is of my older brother, Laurie, who just made an EPIC ride across Australia to be with us for Christmas, on his motorbike and then had to make the trip all the way back - something like 3912 kms each way!!!  How could I resist using the Darkroom Door Motorcycle Photo Image stamp - it is the first time I have used it.  I coloured it using Distressing Ink and Daubers - a great technique for colouring any image.

The Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets Die by Donna Salazar have been cut out with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur and  just had to be used on this layout, along with the Tim Holtz Embossing Folder - all symbolic!

This is a special layout for me - it was so wonderful having Laurie here for  nearly two weeks - we had not seen him for 11 years, infact the last time was at my Father's funeral - it was also the first time in thirty years I have had a family member here for Christmas - so well worth scrapbooking!!

It is a pleasure to be linking this to the Scrapbooking Haven Anything Goes Cyber Crop that is happening now over at the Scrapbooking Haven site - it is my first time playing along with one of these - I am hoping to be inspired to create more.....you can check it out here, you might even want to join in!

This layout is also for the following challenges:
Bloggers - Elements of Time
Crop Stop - Distressed, Vintage or Shabby Chic
Shelly's Images - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting with me - you know I love to see you!  It is Saturday night here and we are enjoying a very quiet night - my daughters have gone to stay with our friends at the beach for three nights, so it is just my husband, son and me.  We made the most of smaller numbers and went out for dinner tonight, a rare treat!!  The boys are settled in watching a rerun of 'Back to the Future - Part Two' and I making the most of the opportunity and crafting - hopefully!   I hope you have a great weekend and get some creative time for yourself - there is nothing like it!!  God bless you!

LOC Spread Your Wings

I was inspired by a wonderful sketch at a fabulous site I discovered while 'surfing Blogs'....The Scrapbooking Haven - and it is Australian - that excites me!

I have played along with this months challenge, the sketch made it so quick to create a layout

This gorgeous flower is handmade by my dear friend Maxine Diffey, and has been layered into a butterfly from the Layers of Color Flutterescent clear art stamp set - one of my all time favourite stamp sets.

The border has been embossed using Tsukineko Gold Embossing Power and a lace stamp from the Layers of Color Artful Endearments clear art stamp set.  The luscious pearls are from my friend Gunn - I love the size of them

The two gorgeous green ribbons are part of a RAK for the lovely Melisa Waldorf - she has the most amazing things and blessed me on my birthday last year - thank you Melisa - I am savouring them all!

The Classic Scallop Edgeabilitie is designed by Nina Brackett for Spellbinders and has been cut using my ever faithful Grand Calibur.

LOC One Moment in Time Layout

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! As I type this 2011 has passed and it is now 2012, I hope for each of you it is a wonderful year!!

It is such a pleasure to capture special moments with your camera and yet another to be able to add to the story it tells with a layout

This is one of those times - this photo was taken when the family gathered together when my beautiful Nana went 'home'  It was taken at her house with my Mother, her younger sister, my auntie Jacqui and my aunt and Uncle Rhondda and Tony.  Little did we know that Jacqui would also be gone in the next six months - making this photo even more special

- fitting the title - 'One Moment in Time', that has been popped up on the Spellbinders Elegant Posts Die.  This and all Dies have been cut with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur Cutting Machine

These flowers are from the Layers of Color Floweret cling art stamp set

and the Merci Bouquet clear art stamp set

The Flower is from the Spellbinders Blossom Spiral One Die - such beautiful flowers to create.  The centre is a recycled button.  Both the Clock and the Silhouette are both from RAKS I have received from friends

Finished off with some beautiful red pearls.

Charlie - To Know Him is to Love Him

Hello and thank you for visiting with me today, I have a quick post to share with you, I have been enjoying some scrapbooking, something I love to do but seems to get very low on the list at times.

I printed twenty photos and sorted the papers to go with them and haven't touched them since - until now.  This layout is of one of our dogs - how could I resist this face?

I used the Spellbinders Banner Basic One as a feature for his name - and am loving the way it turned out.  The Dies have been used as masks, with Distressing Inks before popping the card out of them...and there is sponging...as always!  It goes without saying that I have used the Spellbinders Grand Calibur for Die Cutting - but I have said it anyway! LOL!

The sentiment is a RubOn from Kaiser and seemed so perfect - especially if you knew this dog - to 'know him is to love him!

I also used some divine Websters Pages DP, along with Stampin' Up DP from my stash, cutting out the dogs and popping them up on foam tape, slipping in some corrugated cardboard for texture.

I am working on another layout, that is very special to me and will be sharing it in the next few days!

This layout is for the following challenges:
Anything Goes Challenge - The Colour Blue + 1 other colour
Bearly Mine - Anything Goes
Everybody-Art-Challenge - Anything Goes
Partytime Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes
Ooh La La Creations - Anything BUT a Card
Creative Inspirations Paint - Anything Goes
Sparkles Forum - Anything BUT a Christmas Card
Allsorts - Brown and Blue
Marks Finest Papers - Anything goes
Wee memories - Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by today - I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas, we are enjoying the company of my BIG BROTHER who rode his motorbike across Australia to see us - the journey was EPIC and not without it's challenges - the excitement was  HUGE when he arrived, we have not seen him for eleven years and I am soaking up every minute.  Laurie is a talented musician and his music is filling our home and our hearts - it is wonderful, even moreso when I see him and our youngest sitting there jamming on their guitars or keyboard, their singing is music to my ears - moving me to tears at times - my kids laugh and say that I cry at everything! LOL!  At least these are tears of JOY!

LOC You're a Masterpiece

I have been wanting to create some layouts for a while now - stocked up on some Webster's Pages (YUMBLY) and had photos printed - and here is the first one - hopefully of many!!

The DP is from the Your Life. Beautiful range and is so lovely I was hesitant to cover it too much.  I am teaching this layout at my local LSS and have found that it is best to keep it simple - so it is perfect!

But I could not resist adding the divine Layers of Color Beloved Wings art stamp set and the gorgeous Crown from the Regal Wings art stamp set - they just seem to go hand in hand!

The butterflies are the Embroidered Butterfly cling art stamp, the gorgeous lace is part of a very special RAK I received. I have also used the Spellbinders Grand Calibur for the Floral Doily Motif DieCut.  I have used gold paper and sponged it with StazOn to give it a metallic look.  Finishing off with the Tim Holtz Flourish, that has been embossed with the Textiles Embossing Folder.

This layout is for the following projects:
Art Impressions Stamp Challenge - Distressing
Crafty Purple Frog - Pearls and Swirls
Just For Fun - Anything Goes
Paper Play - Anything But a Card
Divas by Design - DieCuts/Punches
Flutterby Wednesdays - Must Include Fairy/Angel or Butterfly - Open Challenge
Paper Shelter Challenge - Anything Goes
Truly Scrumptous - Things with Wings
Class Act Insider - Vintage
Fairy Fun Fridays - Pearls and Swirls
