Spellbinders Mother's Day Roses Tutorial

Hello friends - thanks so much for stopping by!! Today I am sharing a tutorial for Spellbinders using one of the dies from the Flower Garden Collection by Sharyn Johnson Sowell to create a Mother's Day Card.  Lots of layering to create this card front - I love the feminine feel that comes with it - roses have a way of doing that!  You can see how easily it is created by following along with the tutorial.

'What grows in your garden? Bring wonderful botanical elements into your projects with the Flower Garden Collection by Sharyn Sowell.' - Spellbinders

1. Cut/emboss four (4) of the Strip using white card stock.
2. Trim the border at the top - leaving a little for adhesive on three (3) of the panels.
3. Start at the bottom and adhere the layers with double sided tape on the narrow strip at the top of each panel - making sure to overlap the border from the next panel over the thin strip each time.

4. Adhere the panels to slightly larger green card stock, rounding the bottom two corners.
5. Pop up onto one pink cut/embossed Frame from the Floral Photo Frame Etched Dies using 3D Foam Squares.
6. Glue a row of small pink fabric roses, with narrow white velvet ribbon above.
7. Arrange a sentiment from stickers, adhere to pink card stock and trim.
8. Pop the sentiment up onto the card front using small white foam squares.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mums/Moms, Mother-in-Laws, Step mums/moms, Supermums/moms, Mother-type people, Spiritual Mum/Moms and everyone with a mothering heart - after all 'family is not determined by blood, but by heart!'   I hope you have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders Products:
Other:  Pink, Green and white card stock; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: E-Z Adhesive Runner, 3D Foam Squares; Small White 3D Foam Squares; Strip of small pink fabric roses; Authentique Paper: sticker sentiments; narrow white velvet ribbon; corner rounder

Recycled Yellow Rose for Friendship

Hello friends, I hope you are enjoying your weekend - ours is coming to a close, but it has been lovely and I am happy to say our temperatures are warming up too - although last night was a minus 6C Degrees - brrr!!  A yellow rose is for friendship - my husband gave me a bunch of yellow roses soon after we first met and I have always loved them - so could not resist this beautiful Roses by Anna Griffin Inc.

The card front has been embossed using Spellbinders Em-bossing Fold'ers Grid 4.25 x 5.5 in Single Sided using the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine - 6" - even on patterned paper it is so effective.  The heart doily is from my stash, part of a RAK from years ago and the sentiment from a free set with the Australian Simply Cards publication.

The yellow rose as been adhered to the paper doily using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Permanent Runner.  The card front has been popped up onto a pre-cut card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares, finishing off with Celebrations Sweet Dreams Embellishments - Sequins randomly being adhered to the card front.

Dear Friend

Hello friends, I have a nostalgic card to share with you today - using one of the Spellbinders Christmas Dies differently - I love to find more than one way to use a Die or any product for that matter,

My card base has been cut using the Spellbinders  A-2 Matting Basics A Card Creator Etched Dies And The Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine - 6" Platform.  The A2 Filigree Delight designed for Spellbinders by Licensed Designer Becca Feeken has been cut/embossed using black card stock and adhered to the card base using liquid glue.

The Reindeer from the Shapeabilities Reindeer And Sleigh Etched Dies has had a little makeover and become a deer - just by removing the antlers - love that!!  It has been adhered to recycled corrugated card (from the outside of a coffee cup) using liquid glue.  This has all been layered onto the card base.

A Kaisercraft pre-cut doily has been trimmed and popped under the corrugated card and a Mulberry Paper Rose added. Finishing with a row of beautiful white roses and a Want2Scrap Swirls Finesse.  The sentiment is from a retired set from Layers of Color.

Upcycled Birthday Roses

Hello friends, today I am slipping in a little bit of recycling - these beautiful roses are too beautiful to sit in a drawer unseen and makes a very pretty feature for a card.

I have cut out the roses using the Spellbinders Pierced Rectangles Die and lightly sanded the edges to add a distressed look - a favourite with me,

The smallest Die from the Die D-Lites Corners & Accents One has been adhered to the left hand corrners using liquid glue.  This has then been popped up onto the Amazing Paper Grace A2 Filigree Delight Card Creator - this has been backed using white card stock to highlight the beautigul filigree details. The layered rcycled image has been popped up using  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares and a computer generated sentiment adhered to the lower right hand corner of the imageFinishing off with Want2Scrap pink pearls.  Nice and easy and so worth recycling - don't you think!

Layered Roses and Horsehair

Hello friends, thank so much for stopping by and welcome to my new followers - I hope you are inspired when you visit!  I have been working hard getting ready for the Australian Mixed Media Roadshow which starts in Perth on 13 July, from there we are in Sydney and finishing in Noosa.  As you can imagine it is going to be amazing - I am hoping to post regularly from there and share photos and updates....but until then - today's card...

...I have embossed cardstock using the Spellbinders Horsehair Embossing Folder by Licensed Designer Tammy Tutterow.  The texture on this folder is fabulous and so versatile, I have sponged lightly over it using Imagine Crafts Memento Ink in Teal Zeal and a Sponge Dauber.

The Altenew Flower was a free set with the Australian Simply Cards #94 - I love this set and am having a lot of fun 'mastering' it.  I have used Imagine Crafts Inks for the rose.  This has been popped up onto a white Fleur de Elegance Die-cut.  White lace has been added, along with a double seam binding bow and recycled button. Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner and 3D Foam Squares have been used on this card. The beautiful bling is from from Want2Scrap.

Spellbinders Paper Roses Tutorial

Hello Spellbinders fans, I am sharing a Step by Step Tutorial on the Spellbinders Blog using some of my favourite Dies - it makes it so-o-o easy.  I have been a little time challenged lately with some BIG Spellbinders Workshops happening and others to prepare for - not to mention our darling new grandson - who at 11 weeks is nothing but adorable and my biggest distraction! LOL!

Needless to say my creative time has been a little less but I can't resist my Spellbinders Dies for too long - and today I am sharing a pretty card that is so simple to create and still very elegant - you have to love that don't you - lets face it - we all have 'real life' moments that take us away from our Studios/Craft Rooms....

Spellbinders Products:
Cross Promotional Partners:

1. Cut/emboss one (1) Fleur de Elegance #3 (#1 being the smallest) in Whirl White cardstock

NOTE: It is advised to use repositional tape to hold the dies securely

4. Trim to size (4¼ x 5½”) and adhere to slightly larger white card base using Crafty Foam Tape
5. Adhere Fleur de Elegance using Crafty Foam Tape
