This week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is hosted by the lovely Michelle, who has chosen the following scripture:
"that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be
able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and
depth and height - to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge." Eph 3:17-19
Michelle has challenged us to make a box or use an image that has a box. I have chosen to recycle a Muffin container.

SSIC Torn
I hope you have had a good week - the weekend always flies by quicker than any other days - but with the weekend comes the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge.
This weeks challenge is hosted by the lovely Peggysue,
"The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom."
Matthew 27:51
Peggysue has challenged us to use torn paper technique (just tear paper with your fingers and use it somehow on your card, but it must be torn, not cut)
I have stamped a Tim Holtz image onto kraft card and cut it out using the A2 Matting Basics A Nestabilities, that has been layered onto the A2 Fancy Postage Edges Nestabilities. The Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur
The sentiment is from a retired Layers of Color set designed by NinaB Designs
My torn strip has been sponged and added down the left hand side of the card - I love using tearing on cards and should do it more often!
Thank you to our sponsor
This card is for the following images:
Crafts and Me - Anything goes
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

SSIC Shining
It is time for this week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge and this week I am honoured to be the hostess. We are really blessed to see so many of you playing along and love to read your comments and encouragement - thank you!
The scripture I have chosen is:
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psa 119:105
and my challenge is to create a card/project in soft pastel palette - black or white can be used as a neutral.
I have create dtwo cards for this weeks challenge, the first is using a free digital image and Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles along with the Fancy Tags Three - the divine bling is Nestabling from Want2Scrap and the paper is from My Mind's Eye™
My second card has been created using a scripture from our sponsor, Inspired Stamps. I was thrilled to see one of the sets I received from Antionette had the very scripture for this weeks devotional and I could not resist using it!
I have also used Spellbinders Floral Oval, all Dies on both cards have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine.
A Seam Binding bow and a gorgeous bling corner designed by NinaB Designs for Want2scrap.
The lamp is an imageby Darkroom Door....it is the first time I have inked it and definitely will not be the last!!
This card is for the following challenges:
Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge - Something New (bling) - both cards
Fairy Fun Fridays - Anything with Flowers - card 1
Fussy and Fancy - Punches / Dies - both cards
Charisma Cardz - Shabby chic

Little Claire's - Spring
Rogue Redhead Designs - Spring Fashion Colours
This verse of scripture always speaks to me of how specific God is - he is a light to our path - to show us where we are going, the big picture, His Word is also a lamp unto our feet, to light the very next steps we take! He lights our way in the dark, to prevent us stumbling over obstacles or falling down cliffs, or even just wandering off the path onto things that would lead us into danger or even turn us away from God's path for our lives.
The light unto our path speaks to us not only of God lighting our way so that we can walk safely and see any dangers ahead, but it clearly symbolises the Word of God being our guide. As we study it and take 'onboard' it's teachings, will clearly see the path, avoiding all of the pits and obstacles, missing those distractions or byways, that can be so cleverly disguised and would lead us astray. God's Word is a light unto our path - a guide for us to heed.
The concept of a lamp, to me, is something that is close by, even held in the hand to bring light directly onto something close by. A light is more general and sheds light on everything around us - on His works and all that we do. It seems that God has all aspects covered - but there are no surprises there!
I pray the Light of the World will continue to shine on us, in us and through us!
Thank you to our sponsor Inspired Stamps

SSIC Layers
This weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is hosted by the lovely Miesje - who has chosen :
"If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him?” Romans 8:31b-32
Miesje has challenged us to create a card or project that uses everything! The opposite of a CAS – toss on the embellishments and/or different papers, textures.
This challenge worked perfectly for me as I wanted to create a special Sympathy card for a dear friend who lost her husband and I wanted to fill it with all of the embellishments that she loves (and I do too) and have it overflowing with ambiance and love.
KandCompany paper, lace, pearls, Layers of Color Art Stamps, Spellbinders Paper Arts Dies, Mulberry Roses, Seam Binding - all of those divine things we love to use.
Lots of details - anything but CAS and one of my favourite styles of cards !
This card is for the following challenges:
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - Fancy Folds
Fussy and Fancy - Anything but a Square/Rectangle
Hotshot Crafts - Ribbon
Our Craft Lounge - Spring
Simply Create Too - Spring
Stampin' For The Weekend - Anything Goes

SSIC LOC The Birds of the Air
It is time for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge, this week I am honoured to be sharing the devotional
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
And am bringing the scripture from Mathew:
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Mat 6:25-34
One thing in life is clear - there is plenty to worry about, Jesus tells us clearly in v25, that we are not to worry, infact He specifically lists things we are not to worry about - He knows us so well!
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? (v25)
There are many areas we tend to worry about and Jesus answers them - it seems to be the most natural thing to do - worry about where we will live, what we will eat, what job we will have, infact we worry about what we don't have and if we have any wealth we worry about losing it - We could add our own list of concerns...aging, accidents, approval of friends and peers, war, terrorism, death and in some cases even life. There’s no end to the list of things we can worry about.....
Worrying pulls us in many different directions - it causes us to fear. How can we have hope when our hearts are full of fear, no matter what direction we turn, it confronts us. Our minds become consumed and we are pulled in every direction, literally worrying ourselves sick! Worry has never solved a problem! The truth is that worrying doesn’t ADD to our lives - it takes away from our lives- it takes away, eating into hours - but can also consume us for weeks, months and in some case years. Can you think of one good thing worry has added to your life? Worrying is futile.
Worry stops us from trusting God. In reality there is no point worrying about those things that are out of our hands - nothing we can do can change them and we need to trust God with them. Although worrying has physical effects, Jesus is dwelling on the spiritual side of the issue. As Christians we should be living a life of trusting God - not like those people who are not in relationship with God...who carry around the weight of the world on their shoulders.
The rest of God’s creation does not worry, but God provides for them. Will he not do the same for us? Look at the birds of the air - they sing regardless of circumstances - have you ever seen a bird worry? God provides their every need.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereofMat 6:25-34
Trust God to provide for us as He has promised - by seeking first His kingdom you eliminate the need to worry. The only place you will find security, peace, love and joy in this world is when you are seeking FIRST God’s Kingdom!
I have used Layers of Color Backyard Birds, Glad Tidings clear art stamp sets, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three, Layered Poinsettia and the Grand Calibur for Die Cutting. The DP is Stampin' Up.

SSIC LOC The Lord Bless You
This weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ is brought to us by the wonderful Traci Major.
This weeks Scripture is:
"Give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." ESV
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Traci has challenged us to create a card or project that depicts gratitude...it can be an image of something you are grateful for, a scripture that evokes your gratitude, or it can be a card made especially for a person you would like to thank this time of year!!
I have used am image from one of the Layers of Color New Release clear art stamp sets
This sentiment is one of my favourites - it is such a blessing to have it as a stamp - there are so many occasions I can think of to use it. It has been cut out using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur and the Labels Fourteen Nestibilitie and Labels Ten
The butterfly is from another Layers of Color New Release set, the Fairy Wishes clear art stamp set, it has been cut out and popped up on foam tape.
I love this scripture and am grateful for the blessing of God that He pours out so freely. So often we forget to express our gratitude, not intentionally, but just get caught up in life and all that comes with it in our lives...I often think about the ten lepers that were healed - I am sure they were all excited and so happy, but only one returned to say thank you Lord.....
I pray that each of us will be mindful of all He is and all He does for us - forget NOT His benefits!
This card is for the following challenges:
2 Sisters - Anything Goes
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle - Thank you (Thanksgiving)
Challenge Up Your Life - Friendship
Fussy and Fancy - be thankful and feature a sentiment
Inspire Me Fridays - always anything goes Something Old, Something New (Old DP, new image)

SSIC LOC Rose Resist
I love Sunday's and one of the reasons is that it is time for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge this week is brought to us by MariLynn - who has chosen:
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind
2 Timothy 1:7
MariLynn has challenged is to try something that you might have been AFRAID to try before now, examples... a new technique, a new color combo, a new style (CAS if you are a Layered stamper, or reversed) so a one layer card is where this challenge has taken me - not my thing usually...
It has definitely been made easier by using the Layers of Color Vintage Roses art stamp set and the Crayon Resist technique - I have had a lot of fun with this technique and love the way it looks with soft colours - Rangers Scattered Straw and Tattered Rose.
The divine roses are some I acquired at the Craft and Quilt Fair - it comes in rows of six - I trimmed one row off and adhered it to the card, adding pearls as a final touch.
This card is for the following challenges:
365 Cards - Vintage plus Yellow
Challenge Up Your Life - No patterned paper
Designed 2 Delight - Anything Goes
Card Makin' Mamas - pink
C.R.A.F.T. - Resist Technique
Craft Us Crazy - Anything goes in August
