Wedding Day

My card today and a Wedding card and had to have a romantic feel - what better style than Shabby Chic to get the romantic feel on a project.

I have used some retired images from Layers of Color - they are still among my favourite images...the addition of a paper rose adds to the feel  - especially with the touch of pink in the center.

Embossing and sponging - two of my favourite techniques on a card, next comes lace and bling.

The image is stamped onto a Labels Four Spellbinders® Nestabilities® and layered on to pick card cut using the larger size in this die and the Grand Calibur® Machine, for a framed effect!

SSIC Cool Colours

This weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is brought to us by the lovely MariLynn who has chosen:
'He made the moon to mark the seasons', Psalm 104:19

MariLynn's challenge is With the change of seasons this week, make a card/project showing something related to the new season.

While spring is on it's way for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, here 'Down Under' things are changing and Autumn/Fall is on it's way - so I have used COOL colours, along with one of NinaB Designs New Licensed Dies for Spellbinders Paper Arts, called Sewing Elements, along with the Spellbinders Labels Four and Fancy Tags Three.  I love trying different Dies together, there are so many combinations - the possibilities are endless.

The Paper is My Mind's Eye™ - Lost and Found Collection and the gorgeous bling swirl is from Want2 Scrap.  The sentiment is from the retired Layers of Color Set Sentimental Banners

This card is for the following challenges:

LOC Framed Rose

What better image to use for Valentines Day than a rose - we all love them don't we, whether on paper or IRL - roses are divine!!

The Cottage Rose cling art stamp by Layers of Color is a pleasure to colour and create with!  I stamped it onto white card stock and coloured it with SU Chalks. I have tried to keep the shades more muted for a softer look.

I then popped it onto a frame that I have recycled using a negative of the Spellbinders Labels Four and Cuttlebug Vintage Corners.  It was quite by accident that it formed this frame - but I was not going to pass it up!  LOL!  All Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur.  Pearls have been added to complete the frame - simple elegance was the way to go with this card!

This is for the following challenges:
One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
Delightful Challenges - Distressed/Vintage
4 Crafty Chicks - Summer in January
Charisma Cardz - Clean and Simple (CAS)
Crop Stop - Distressed, Vintage or Shabby Chic
 Shelly's Images - Anything Goes

SSIC LOC Sweet Song

Sunday comes around so quickly and with it comes the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - a perfect way to start the week!  This week we are blessed to have one of our Guest Designers sharing the devotional Teresa has chosen...

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord
Colossians 3:16

Teresa has challenged us to use music in some form. Sheet music, music notes, instruments, or singing

I could not resist the Layers of Color Honeysweet art stamp set - how divine are these bees, along with The Love Chapter art stamp set.

I sponged the Layers of Color Vintage Medallion art stencil onto a page from an old hymnal using Tim Holtz Distressing Ink - Scattered Straw

Hand ruffled Seam Binding and a flower from the Flowering Gems art stamp set are the finishing touches.

You can see the details and dimension in this photo, along with the perfect sentiment from the Psalms - perfect for this challenge - the Psalms are known as the Song of David.
This card is for the following challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges - Monochromatic
Marks Finest Papers - Distressed Card
Clearly Inspired - things with wings
Charisma Cardz – Distressing

LOC Happy Days - Card 1

Thank you for stopping by today - I always love to see you and thought I would show you one of the cards I am going to be teaching at my Card Design Class at the LSS next week.

I try and bring different styles of card each time, creating one Fancy Fold and then one quick and easy - that way of we get excited and carried away with the first one, the next one is easy to finish at home - so far we have done pretty well with time!

I have used Layers of Color art stamp sets - my LSS, Scrap n Stuff is the first store in Australia to be carrying Layers of Color and it is literally flying off the shelves - the classes are full and creativity flowing!

I have used the Flutterescent and Butterfly Collector art stamp sets, stamping them, cutting out and popping them up.

The word 'Happy' and 'day' comes from the Happy Wishes art stamp set, it has been stamped and cut out with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur and the Labels 4 Nestibilitie.  This has been cut in half and had 'day' added separately.

This sentiment is also from the Flutterescent art stamp set and the butterfly from the Butterfly Collector.

The second card is the easy card and I will show you that tomorrow - I don't want to bore you with an UBER long post!  LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:
Crafty Emma - Anything But Square
Our Creative Corner - Your Style
Secret Crafter - Embossing
Sugar Creek Hollow - Tic Tac Toe - Embossing, DieCut, Flowers
Bloggers Challenge - Things with Wings
Sew Many Cards - Dry Embossing
The Outlawz POM - Things with Wings

LOC Bouquet of Thanks

I don't know about you, but I can never have too many Thank You cards and it was easy to make one with the Layers of Color Merci Bouquet art stamp set!

I have cut it out using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur and a Labels 4 Nesitbilitie.

I cut a bigger size Labels 4 and popped up the image on foam tape, creating a frame.  The Kaiser pearls and ribbon flower have been added,

The sentiment is from the new release Sent With Love art stamp set, illustrated by Nina Brackett.  It is popped up onto the recycled crochet lace and finished off with a row of pearls.

This card is for the following challenges;

SSIC It's Peggy Sue's Birthday!!

Today it is Peggysue's birthday, and we at Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges are throwing her a virtual birthday party, each of us is going to bring something special - some of Peggysue's favourite things infact!  You will see what I am bringing further down this post....but in the meantime.....

Often floral cards are inspired by my DH's photography - and as I am bringing something YUMBLY to the party I thought I would show you something with BOLD colours - using Layers of Color art stamp set Merci Bouquet.  I have used some gorgeous textured DP that Laura sent me in a RAK - it is a shame you cannot feel the texture here - I am very much a 'hands on and inky fingered' type person and this appeals to me greatly!

I am inspired by this lovely photo taken by my DH - he is a photographer and often his photos are of our flowers and backyard, or local scenes - you can see some of these here.

So naturally, I am bringing CHOCOLATES and not just any chocolates - calorie fee chocolates!!  Is there such a thing - well yes, and here they are!!

They look yummy don't they, but don't be fooled, they are calories free because they are candles and can you believe that someone actually tried to bite them - arghhhh!  While I was taking the photo I asked my DD1 if she knew which one had the bite marks and before I knew it, she bit this one - what is with that!!?!?  She says she was helping me.....hell-o-o-o!!!

Now, I did offer to being drinks, but just as well Kathy had that covered - look what happens to them in our house...LOL!  Just as well really, as I believe Peggysue drinks Diet Pepsi!!

If you arrived here from Randi's Blog, then you're in the right place! If not, please start this short hop at SSCC blogIf you happen to get lost along the way, the blog hop order is:
♫ Happy Birthday to you Peggysue - hope your day is 'SWEET' lovely! ♫  Corny I know - but I could not help myself!  LOL!  Don't forget to stop by and wish Peggysue a Happy Birthday!  The next stop on the Hop is the very lovely Kristine

Thanks for coming by today and for your fabulous comments, you are always so kind!!  God bless you!!

Midnight Madness - Literally!!

This past week has been a whirlwind for me - very exciting, but a whirlwind. Today I feel like I have been chasing my tail...lots of cards started at various stages, but hard to get one finished...but I have got the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge finished...This is one of my favourite challenges (okay, they are all favourites) and I would have been so disappointed to have missed the deadline!!

I have used a scripture and Nestie that my friend Kathy (aka Wattle) has sent me, I just love that Labels 4 Nestie!!) and combined it with flowers from the lovely Abby's Candy, plus that gorgeous butterfly which came in a RAK from one of my Twisted Sisters, Peggy (aka Marilyn Prestonn) and the Vintage Corner which was also from one of my Twisted Sisters Judy Kell - where would I be without my friends - well, one thing is for sure - this card would be pretty boring! LOL!

I have added a punched border, WHICH IS MINE!! LOL!, Ribbon and bling and sponging complete this soft and feminine card!! I have realised that I have done no stamping on it...but there is still one amazing mess to clean up before the kids get home!!

It is all very exciting for me today...I received a box of stamps from Layers of Colour and I can hardly wait to get them inky....I have actually done a few more things for the Design Team, which have been added to my gallery on their site, so I will be uploading them here a bit later today - all going well! I hope you come back to check them out...or pop over to Layers of Colour - and don't forget to check out my Blog Candy, there is a link on my sidebar!

Thank you for stopping by and for your encouraging comments, especially over my exciting news. I do appreciate your support and love to read your comments, they mean a lot to me!! Hopefully this will not be my only post today...I have a few things waiting to be posted - you had better grab a coffee for your next visit! LOL! God bless you!
