Distressed to the Max

I thought I would show you a couple of cards I made for the Limited Supply Challenge on SCS  where we are on a time limit - 15 minutes or less (which would come under the catagory of a MIRACLE for me).  We are also to use at least ONE item that you received "new" for the holidays and finally to limit the theme to an annual event with all this happening these cards also fit the Ways to Use It Challenge where we are to use TIME as part of the theme for our cards - it could include a clock face image, a calendar, a countdown...anything that will work with the theme of time.
This is also for the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential Challenge
which is about going CRAZY with calendars - as I have said I have recycled an older calendar for these cards....hope that counts - what do you think - I think I am using 'artistic licence' with the 'Hidden Potential' part of the challenge! LOL!!?!?

Both of my cards have been made from an old calendar I was given a few years ago, so that covers the 'time' factor - I have recycled the images.  My new item is the pearls - I had just run out and had to get more, so am just scrapping in there and the annual event is birthdays.  A sentiment just didn't work on the cards so I added 'Wishing you a Happy Birthday' on the inside of the cards.. .

This card has the edges distressed, ribbon added along with a rose and some pearls.  I used a Fiskar Border Punch on the lower edge of the DP and added a small pearl to the centre of each scallop!

The edges have also been distressed on this image, which has been cut into three and layered onto some green DP.  Double stitched ribbon was added, along with a Prima flower and pearls.

Both cards were finished in under 15 minutes (each) this is the closest I come to CAS - they feel very bare to me, although I am happy with both of them!  It is good to make quick and easy sometimes - it doesn't happen that often for me! LOL!

Thanks for coming by and for your encouraging comments - you always encourage and inspire me, i love seeing that you have been.  I hope you are enjoying the holidays and making sure you 'live out loud!'  God bless you!

  6. Great cards, Linda! I think you were successful for all of the challenges. The rose is so pretty, a little fancier than the second card.
