LOC Birdsong Box

This weeks Twisted Sister Challenge was to make a box - not something I do too often. I have actually had this box sitting around for a while and have not been happy with the way it looked (B-O-R-I-N-G!) so decided that it was time to do something about it. I was also inspired by this weeks Inspiration Challenge on SCS, by this canvas:

I added lace around the lower edges of the lid and then a strip of ribbon and a bow. The layered Kaiser flowers have been sponged around the edges and popped up on foam dots to give them a bit of dimension, they are held together by a large brad.

The MS Branches have been added under the flowers and one of the Layers of Color bird from the Royal Birds art stamp set sponged and popped up on top of the box. Now I am happy with this box and am even happier to have it out of the UFO (unfinished objects) pile!!

I am linking this to the Our Creative Corner Challenge where it is all about 3D.

Thank you for looking and for your encouraging comments - you always make my day! I love knowing that you have been.  Now to find a use for this box - I realise now why I don't make too many of these things...LOL!  I am sure I will find something - even use it as a gift box - what do you think!?  God Bless You! ,

  1. That is one stunning box, my sister! Anyone receiving a gift in it would be doubly blessed!!

Well done on going 3-D - not something I do a lot of either :-)

  2. Linda this is lovely, the papers are gorgeous and I love the turquoise. Maybe you will inspire me to tackle my box of "off the page" projects I've bought with all those good intentions of actually completing them!

  3. Beautiful box Linda....I love the dimension on the top and of course the lace:) The color choices are so pretty too....reminds of spring.

  4. Oh so happy you linked this gorgeous box to the OCCC :)!!! I love how you decorated it!!! It's not boring anymore - LOL!!!

Have a great weekend!!! Hugs ~S~

  5. This would make a lovely gift box, Linda. I love getting those UFO's taken care of, too! The bird looks so pretty on the top.

  6. Gorgeous artful container, Linda! Beautiful colors and brimming over with joy!

  7. Wow Linda, I wouldn't have guessed that you don't make these often, it's STUNNING girl! Love the layers, colors and that bird is fantastic!
