LOC Take Flight

Hello everyone - we went onto Daylight Savings time last night and my body doesn't know if it is coming or going - but one thing I do know is that I was able to create a card for this weeks Inspiration Challenge over on SCS

Naturally I used the Layers of Color sets Flutterescent and Butterfly Collector Clear Art Stamps, they are just perfect - here is my inspiration

I lightly chalked the images onto a Top Note Die - I ran off HEAPS of these using my friend Ann's Die Cut - thanks Ann - you are going to see these babies on everything - when I ran out of white cardstock I used the back of Christmas cards - infact I think that is what this is - no peeking! LOL!

Some Kindy Glitz is added for that shimmer I just LOVE and some lace and half pearls added to the side - quick and easy - you have to love that!!

This is also for the follwing Challenges:
Alphabet Challenge - W is for Wings
Character Cafe - Recipe - Orange, ribbon (I used lace), 2 embellishments (small and large pearls)
Totally Papercrafts Challenge - The Great Outdoors

While we are talking about inspiration I thought I would show you a little bit of what inspired me - our garden - I will be showing more over the next few posts - spring is here and we are loving it!!

I will be back later today with the Stamping Sisters in Christ Challenge.  Tomorrow I will be giving you a Sneak Peek of the New Release Stamps from Layers of Colour - there will be a New Release Party on October 11 - you are going to want to br there!!

Thank you for visiting with me today - I appreciate you taking the time, I love to see that you have been!  God bless you!

LOC In my Heart

I am so loving scrapbooking at the moment, funny how we go on runs and I am loving this one....I was so inspired by the Inspiration Challenge on SCS, you can see what inspired me here and had to bring out the Layers of Colour images, which I LOVE using with Scrapbooking.

The DP with the circle cut out is leftover from the page I did for my DH's birthday, I saved it from our Scrapbooking Class (thanks Ann), which worked well for this layout!  My DD1 is not a 'girly girl' but definitely feminine, so my challenge was to use flowers but no to go 'frilly' and horrify her - what do you think!?!  I used a page from one of the old Hymnals that I was given by 'our friend Jack' and distressed it with a light touch of sponging, this was layered onto a small piece of DP that has had an adorable fence added, using the Martha Stewart Fence Punch (thanks Pat)and some of the fabulous wood grain from McMahon Five Designs.

The flourish is from a pack I picked up from 'Hot Dollar' I painted it with Tattered Angela Glimmer Mist in Sand - painting it is less messy when I am being lazy (LOL) and sponged the edges with Distressing Ink and added a Chickadee from the Layeres of Color art stamp set Backyard Birds.  The Chickadee and all other images, have been coloured with Chalks and had Kindy Glitz added, it is popped up onto foam dots to sit on the swirl.

This sweet little sparrow has also been popped up on foam dots and layered onto the DP and music.

The layered flowers have been sponged with Distressing Ink and attached to the DP, I have added butterflies from the Butterfly Collector art stamp set and popped their wings up with foam tape, which is not as high as the dots.  The sentiment is from Autumn Leaves, I love the ticketed look and am going to be adding sentiments to my layouts more - I just love Ingvild'sBlog and have been inspired by her art - FABULOUS!!

This sentiment is also from the Butterfly Collector set, I have sponged around the edges.

Phew - there you go!  Thank you for making your way down to the end of this longer post, but I wanted to show you all of the details - I did try to keep the chatter down though - do you know how hard that is for me!! LOL!

I am also linking this to the following challenges:
Pile It On - Flowers
Cute Card Thursday - All you Need is Love

Stampin' Sisters In Christ - God Loves You - I would love this layout to be a reminder to my DD1 of her heart for God at this tender age and His love for her, as she grows up and finds her way in life, it is my hope that as she looks back to her childhood, she would be reminded of her faith, our faith and the Love God has for her, that it never changes and is new every morning...and that it is real for her each day and will always remain - 'in her heart!'

Thanks you for looking and for your fabulous comments - I love seeing that you have been - you make my day and make me smile!  Love it!  Weekends go past too fast, I hope you are enjoying yours, it is Valentine's Day here and WET - perfect!  Happy Valentine's Day to you all - make sure you tell those you love how important they are to you - if they are nearby, give them a big hug - don't be shy!  LOL!  God bless you!

LOC Birdsong Box

This weeks Twisted Sister Challenge was to make a box - not something I do too often. I have actually had this box sitting around for a while and have not been happy with the way it looked (B-O-R-I-N-G!) so decided that it was time to do something about it. I was also inspired by this weeks Inspiration Challenge on SCS, by this canvas:

I added lace around the lower edges of the lid and then a strip of ribbon and a bow. The layered Kaiser flowers have been sponged around the edges and popped up on foam dots to give them a bit of dimension, they are held together by a large brad.

The MS Branches have been added under the flowers and one of the Layers of Color bird from the Royal Birds art stamp set sponged and popped up on top of the box. Now I am happy with this box and am even happier to have it out of the UFO (unfinished objects) pile!!

I am linking this to the Our Creative Corner Challenge where it is all about 3D.

Thank you for looking and for your encouraging comments - you always make my day! I love knowing that you have been.  Now to find a use for this box - I realise now why I don't make too many of these things...LOL!  I am sure I will find something - even use it as a gift box - what do you think!?  God Bless You! ,

Bashful Butterfly

I am so late with this card for the Twisted Sister Challenge that it is  nearly due for next week - LOL!  But they are very forgiving gals...this week we are to use Bashful Blue, Sage Shadow and Very Vanilla - well, not being a SU girl I used the closest I had - so I hope this is close enough - at the very least it will keep me at the 'back of the Bus' which seems to be my permanent place of residence - but I am not complaining, as least I have never been sent to the ROOF, not like others who shall remain nameless! LOL!

The butterfly is from the Layers of Color art stamp set  Flutterescent, which has been chalked and had Kindy Glitz lightly added for a touch of shimmer.  I have used some peices of DP that have been gathering on my desk, sponging the edges and using the SU Eyelet Border Punch along the edges of the centre panel.  The butterfly is popped up on foam dots on a scalloped circle which is also on foam dots.  The sentiment is from SU.

.It is also for a number of other challenges:

Featured Stamper on SCS - Anne (aka  Ardodd) I have cased this card
Inspiration Challenge on SCS - I have cased this Border Clock
Crazy 4 Challenges - Polka Dot Fun - they are in the punched Border
Stampin' for the Weekend - New Beginnings - butterflies are symbolic of new beginnings and new life...Our Creative Corner - Our version of CAS - c'mon - no lace, no torn corners and linited Bling - give me a break! LOL!
Stampin' Sisters in Christ - is all about New Creations - this card is suitable for someone who has just begin their new life in their Christian walk!  I know I will be making another card for this one...

Phew - exhausting just linking all of these! LOL!   I may be back later today to show you something I have created...I have never really considered myself an 'off the page' person but am starting to venture out - and just on the quiet - I am loving what I am trying...but don't tell anyone - I don't need another addition! LOL!

Here is a little Sneak Peek....shhhh

Thanks for coming by and for all of your lovely comments - I always look forward to your visits - you know I would hate to miss you!  God bless you all

EDIT:  I just want to add that my DH has decided to get up early and get some photos of the sunrise...and my DD2 is going with him - so I had better get to bed and post this 'off the page' piece tomorrow morning - I would love you to come back and have a look!  {{{hugs}}}

Vintage Paris

I have felt like I am chasing my tail all day but somehow I have managed to catch up and even get the Inspiration Challenge on SCS done.  I love this site and was inspired by one of the small images that Stef chose -the one on the right!

This is a one layer card - very strange for me.  I started with patterned DP and stamped the Eiffel Tower in Distressing ink, followed that with embossing the floral image across it in bronze.  I then stamped the word 'Paris' and stamped off some french script onto it along with a couple of birds - it is very faint!!

The edge of the DP is torn and sponged with a strip of gold embossing underneath the torn edge...I finished off with a SU Die Cut Corner and three black half gems and some sponging in blue disressting ink.  This would have to be one of the quickest cards I have ever made and so different - I am not sure if I will get used to only one layer!!

Thank you for visiting and for the comments you leave - you are always so encouraging!!  I love knowing you have been!  It is Monday night here and everyone is winding down, I might even get some more crafting done - wahoo!  I hope you are having a great day!  God bless you!
