How many sleeps is it until Christmas - it is getting less by the day! LOL!  I am loving creating Christmas Cards with the newest release Layers of Color art stamps

The Christmas Blessings art stamp set is one that is very popular - but no surprises there with gorgeous images like this one

It co-ordinates with Spellbinders Labels 18, which makes it so much easier to create a lovely card very quickly.  Naturally it was but out using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur - my cutting tool of preference!!

Some Christmas Sparkle has been added to the dove with 3D Kindy Glitz - and some light shading on the script to add a more vintage feel

Lace, Liquid Pearls and dimension and it is complete!!

LOC Dear Friend

I had to pop back with a second post to show you something different - well for me anyway!

This cute little deer was part of a Blog Candy I won a year ago and it has sat on my desk looking for a home - it is printed on actetate and  I was not sure how to use it, so decided on adhering it to the Spellbinders S5-025 Label Seventeen and using the Die as a mask for sponging with Scattered Straw Distressing Ink.  Little Roses from Wild Orchid Roses, along with Kaiser Half Pearls create a frame along the lower edge of the Die.

until I was cleaning up my desk and decided to use it with the Layers of Color Sent With Love art stamp set  - so cute and definitely a touch of whimsical

I was also motivated my the challenges over at Cards Magazine to create cards using at least three different border punches! I have used the Stampin' Up Eyelet Border Punch (from the top to the bottom) Floral Doily Accent Shapeabilitie from Spellbinders and the Picket Fence by Martha Stewart for my three border punches.

This card is also for the following challenges:
Crafts and Me - flowers
Digistamps 4 Joy - anything goes
Inky Impressions - punches or dies
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Critter Sketch - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes
Ooh La La Creations - Punches/Dies
There's Magic in the Air - Punches and Cuts (at least 3 die cuts or any type of punches)

LOC New Baby

I have been busy working away on a New Release that is coming up - be warned - you are going to LOVE IT!!  In the meantime I have something so-o-o cute to show you....

I could not resist using these darling little chicks from the Layers of Color Rise & Shine art stamp set to create a baby card.

They have been stamped with Distressing Ink and coloured with SU Chalks using a Blender Pen.

The sentiment from the Layers of Color Happy Wishes art stamp set has been stamped directly onto the DP from Stampin Up - this is from my ever growing pile of off cuts.

Adding a punched border using the Martha Stewart Picket Fence punch and layering some hand dyed Seam Binding onto it.  This finished it off beautifully and made the card pop....it never ceases to amaze me how one small thing can add so much to a card...

This card is for the following challenges:
Partytime Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Tip Top Tuesday - Wrap It Up with Ribbon
KB Cute Monday - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Always Anything Goes
2 Sisters - Anything Goes
All Sorts - Things with Wings
Our Creative Corner - Beautiful Baby

For my Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge today I have the privilege of using an image from our sponsor, from the My Favourite Things Pure Innocence Images, but before I get too carried away, today's challenge is being hosted by my dear friend and Stampin' Sistah, the aptly named Grace.

"The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver, the heart of the wicked is worth little. The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of understanding."
  Proverbs 10:20-21

Grace has challenged us to create a card/ project that encourages and use a touch of silver.

I have used the Blooming Good Day image

and added a daisy, some leaves, pearl and seam binding bow.

A punched butterfly (thanks Gunn)

MMSC68 PSDT Shady Rest

This is double the fun for me, here is a card I have made for the "priscillastyles" Design Team and I have played along using the  Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - how much fun is that!?!?

I have used Priscilla's image 'Flowering Tree' and had so much fun colouring it.  I started with my Chalks but then went to my Prismacolour Pencils and they made all of the difference to the depth of colour - I am loving those Prisma's!!  Only one problem with them - I wasn't looking what I was doing and nearly drank the Odourless Mineral Spirits by mistake - true!!  I had it to my lips and then realised - skeery!!

I have also made this for a number of the challenges over at the Crafter's Digital Art Centre - for Colour Challenge, Corners and Distressing - I am on a roll!!  LOL!  How do you like this corner embellishment - I picked them up at KMART one day on sale - something like 50 cents for 8of them - laughing!!  The Martha Stewart Fence Punch just had to be used on this card - how could it not!!

Distressing - I L-O-V-E to distress, cards that is!  LOL!  This photo shows the dimension that is happening here!

Thank you for looking and for the lovely comments you leave me - you make blogging such a fun place to be - I am so honoured to be part of the "priscillastyles" Design Team and hope to bring you lots of inspiration using Priscilla's creative images.

This is for the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge - Anything Goes
Practical Scrappers - Lace Cardstock - Lacy Punched Leaf Edge
Cowgirl's Sunday Stampen Challenge - Summer Time Feeling
Crafts and Me Challenge - Petals & Pearls
Stampin' for the Weekend - Anything Goes

It is Saturday morning for me and it is deceptively sunny through the window - if we walk out the front of the house, there is now on our beautiful mountain - The Brindabella's - they are breathtaking!! Amazingly enough, as I am typing this post we have had a phone call and my DH, DS and DD! are up in the air in a helicopter now - our neighbour is a pilot and was doing a test flight - so he got to take some passengers - how cool!!  I hope you have a great weekend and get to do some things you enjoy - and maybe even some crafting!!  God bless you!

LOC In Flight

I am so happy to be able to play along with the Play Date Cafe again this week - I am loving the inspiration that there is over there - I used to find inspiration sketches so challenging - but now I just love them!

Something a little different this time - I have used the Layers of Color Butterfly Collector Clear Art Stamps to do a little bit of Emboss Resist with

I forgot how much I loves this technique until I saw a Tutorial Video on StampTV with GinaK the other week and Resist it is....using Distressing Inks...Tim Holt's Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain - I love the natural and earthy feel that is happening here!!  The butterflies are embossed with White Embossing Powder!

The black border is made using the Martha Stewart punch and I have added layered flowers - the material ones are individually cut from a piece of lace I had lying around, I spent ages cutting each one out individually - aren't they divine!!  Black gems have been added to the butterflies wings.

This was very quick and easy - I am going to be using this technique a lot more - it is so easy and so effective!

This card is also for the following challenges!;
Rosie-D's Challenges - All Creatures Great and Small
By the Cute and Girly - Animal Antics

LOC Urban Angel

It is Saturday morning here and EARLY and before my day gets underway too much I wanted to share this card with you!!

I was in the mood for some fun and created this card with the Layers of Color Art Stencil- I love the quirky feel it has.  The background is created using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on the Victorian Corner Art Stencils...it almost has  a graffiti feel to it....

This fun loving giraffe is from the Polka Dot Parade Clear Art Stamps - how adorable is he!?!  He is coloured with chalks and popped up on foam dots.  The wings are from the Beloved Wings set - they have also been chalked and had Kindy Glitz added!

This cute little snail is also from the Polka Dot Parade Clear Art Stamps - he is way too adorable not to use.  I love the irony here of the giraffe on roller skates and the snail plodding along...perhaps I should have given the snail the wings!!  LOL

You can see more of my projects in my Layers of Color Gallery, while you are there make sure you check out the other Design Team galleries there is so much inspiration waiting to be discovered.  You are invited to join us on our SNR Group where there is lots of fun and chatter (No surprises there I know! LOC Birdsong Box

This weeks Twisted Sister Challenge was to make a box - not something I do too often. I have actually had this box sitting around for a while and have not been happy with the way it looked (B-O-R-I-N-G!) so decided that it was time to do something about it. I was also inspired by this weeks Inspiration Challenge on SCS, by this canvas:

I added lace around the lower edges of the lid and then a strip of ribbon and a bow. The layered Kaiser flowers have been sponged around the edges and popped up on foam dots to give them a bit of dimension, they are held together by a large brad.

The MS Branches have been added under the flowers and one of the Layers of Color bird from the Royal Birds art stamp set sponged and popped up on top of the box. Now I am happy with this box and am even happier to have it out of the UFO (unfinished objects) pile!!

I am linking this to the Our Creative Corner Challenge where it is all about 3D.

Thank you for looking and for your encouraging comments - you always make my day! I love knowing that you have been.  Now to find a use for this box - I realise now why I don't make too many of these things...LOL!  I am sure I will find something - even use it as a gift box - what do you think!?  God Bless You! ,

Oh So Cool!!

It has been a long time since I got to play on the Inspiration Challenge over on SCS...I loved this snowman scene. How cute is this SU image, I have been looking forward to inking it up and today is the day!!

I used Water Colour Pens along with a Blender Pen to get this look. I ran some ink from the pends onto a white plate and picked it up with the Blender Pen, I also used liquid pearls for the fur trim, I didn't have anything else that would 'puff up' although it looks good IRL, it has caught a bit of glare from the camera.

I also added gold highlights on the middle snowman's scarf and hat - you can see them if you look carefully! I used the MS Border Punch that I received in the mail on Friday from Pat Smethers (I am loving it Pat!) and lightly inked the edge in white craft ink and then added a slight touch of Kindy Glitz...trying to create the look of light snow - well - I did try!! LOL! I popped the fence up on dimensionals!

The Snowflake is from a RAK I received from Suleika (aka Roxystamper) months ago, I adhered this on a dimensional, added Kindy Glitz and a jewel for effect. The photo corners are also from Pat Smethers, in a previous RAK and the ribbon is from another Twisted Sister Helen (aka misshelenstamps)BUT the little black bling are mine!!!

Thank you for dropping in, I do appreciate the comments you leave - they make my day!! God bless you!

Pur-r-r-fect Group Photo

It is time again for Mothermark's Tea Party and this week we are grounded.....except me that is as I am have to fly to get there!!! As you can see it is all about cats this week, and chefs and POT LUCK - we all bring a dish to share - skeery!! Well Dar-r-r-lings as an animal lover I am thrilled to have such adorable creatures amongst us....I managed to sneak this Group Photo out of the Party so those of you who aren't able to attend can see what is going on - what a gorgeous crowd of gals - can you pick 'who is who' - I am not sure but I think that Peggy is there trying to disguise herself as Tigger, Mothermark is there too - now dar-r-r-lings, which one could she possibly be - I think I caught a glimpse of Marilynn!?! What about Dawn and that fire carrying cat of hers, really Dar-r-r-lings - have you ever heard of such a thing....the things people do to get noticed - you wouldn't catch someone of my 'breeding' doing that - LOL!!

...Ooops, there seems to have been a mishap with my little Kitty on the wall...oh no - she has knocked over her cup of tea...or...is she being pulled from behind by Darla who is at her first Tea Party, surely not..Darla is so sweet....no I think it might be Shirley whose C-O-O-L cats with their shade,s thought they had stolen the show, but honestly Dar-r-r-lings, their heads had swelled so BIG that we couldn't fit them in the photo...poor babies, but what is a girl to do!!! I am not really sure who would do something so terrible...I do know they may have their 'noses out of joint' by the gorgeous CAT sticker that was sent to me in a RAK from by Twisted Sister Judy Kell - how adorable it is ( I think it may have been for my DD's - opps!! Sorree!! LOL!) As you can see each of these 'Tea Party' Babes has signed this card with a special little footprint, could be worth BIG $$'s in years to come...but for now it certainly qualifies for the Our Creative Corner Challenge and the CCEEC - how exciting Dar-r-r-lings...it is party central here!!!

Also made this card for the 2RedBananas Sketch Challenge this week....I have seen from the photo that I didn't define the corners as I had intended...but have done since the photo...so hopefully it will still sneak into that challenge Dar-r-r-lings - that would be purr-r-r-fect!!!

Well, I am off to mingle and see exactly what POT LUCK means in America - I am thinking on this occasion it might mean it is POT LUCK if you get anything!!! LOL! Thanks for visiting, I would love you to leave a comment so I know you have been - I would hate to miss you!! God bless you!!
