Australia Day our Way!

Happy Australia Day

to all of you in Australia !  Over the past weeks, we have been privileged to see the great 'Australian mateship' in this country, with the horrendous flooding in Queensland and the devastating flooding that is still occurring in Victoria!!  It is with such a sense of pride that we see 10's of 1000s of volunteers living up to help those in need - no longer strangers, but mates!!!  This is Australia - these are Australians and this is what we do - and we LOVE it!

This year our family did something different for Australia Day - we coordinated Kids Activities at our local Market Place

In this day and age when everyone's focus in more inward and so much communication done via the Internet, it was time for us to come face to face with our neighbours....those who live in our area

Setting up only took minutes...

and then the fun started

Careful colouring by my DD2 - she was a great helper,
specialising in applying faux tattoos - so popular with all ages!

Free Australian flags, tattoos, colouring and lollies

were enjoyed by many

Flying the Australian Flag....just had to be done...

by the young...

and the fabulous....

the smell of YUMBLY food filled the Shopping Centre

Tons of free fun and hopefully exhausted children.....LOL

A little atmosphere and of course plenty of parking!  LOL!

What a great day.  It was such a blessing to us to be able to put back into the community - to smile at strangers and give out freebies to the children, chat with adults and help being back that sense of community, that we all need to feel!!  We have two more says of fun - wahoo!

I heard a little rumour - Easter Bunny is said to be making an appearance at the same Centre this Easter - bringing a week of fun and activities with him - what fun and what a privilege!!

Thank for sharing in our day!!
Happy Australia Day - and it was!!
