Recycled Thinking of You

Hi there thanks so much for stopping by. I am sharing a 'dreaded man card' with a slight mixed media influence today.  So many people find then hard to create but I have found an easy way!! I have used an image had saved from TYPO - their shopping bags are fabulous and I love reusing them - especially for masculine cards - this one makes me laugh and I stantly knew what the sentiment was going to be. I might add at this point - I have quite a number of these bags and look forward to using the images in different ways - they are very kool! ;)

The  background has been kept simple, using a maroon card base with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Creative Photo Corners Gold added to the right hand corners.  A Strip of patterned paper has been popped up onto slightly larger white card stock and adhered to the left side of the card base.

The image has had colour added around the outer areas using using Chameleon Pens.  I have used a White Gel Pen on the Skeleton to add extra highlights. This has been sponged around the edges using Imagine Memento Ink in Rhubarb Stalk and popped up onto the card front using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.

The sentiment has been computer generated and popped up onto slightly larger black card stock and adhered to the top portion of the skull - an obvious choice - don't you think!?  Splatters of white have been added using Imagine irRESISTibles Pico Embellisher in Wedding Dress.

Restored Notice Board

Hello there Blog Friends - I hope you have had a lovely and relaxing weekend. For those of us in the Southern Hemisphere - it is the last week of summer....funnily enough, tonight we had rain and thunder - love that!

My husband picked up a Notice board that was in need of fixing - it had a few little things that needed fixing but not too bad for $4.00 and I LOVE to recycle!!

It quickly became a joint project with the Hot Glue Gun being the hero - DH glued down the backing that has become unattached - don't you love the Hot Glue Gun!!!

I had some lovely vintage buttons that were perfect for the crossover sections.  The 'shank' at the back of each button was removed - once again the Hot Glue Gun to the rescue when attaching the buttons.

Some twine braid was also added, typically AFTER the buttons has set, so it was tucked under the buttons and glued down - as you can see the buttons add a lovely touch and are definitely a focal point!.

I hope you are inspired to recycle/upcycle things before rushing off to get an updated one - it can be so much fun!

Thank you for your comments and all of the support you give me - you make blogging such an amazing place to be!! Your encouragement is such a blessing for me - it makes my day! God bless you!
