LOC Birthday Girl

I have a birthday card to share with you today - we all need more of these on hand!

I have used some DCWV DP - from the Whimsical Stack, along with some scraps from the McKenna DP from KandCompany.

The image is from the Sweet Silhouettes clear art stamp set illustrated by Nina Brackett for Layers of Color

The sentiment, also from the Sweet Silhouettes set is embossed using Tsukineko Versamark and SU White Embossing Powder.

I have used the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant and Foliage Dies, they have been cut using the Grand Calibur.

This card is for the following challenges:
Sweet Stamps - Roses
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Celebrations
Karens Doodles - Celebrate
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes
My Craft Spot - Girly Girl Project
Stamps R Us - Anything Goes

Now for a little 'insider information' LOL! As you may have read by now, Layers of Color is no longer manufacturing their stamps or selling them online. The owner and artist, Laura Kirste Campbell is now a full-time product designer for major craft industry companies. You can find out the details here. But, despite this bitter sweet transition, more new and unique Layers of Color style stamp designs designed by Laura will soon be available worldwide this Spring! A more detailed announcement is coming soon...and I cannot wait!!

Can you handle a little bit more excitement - Nina Brackett will also be illustrating for this company - so it is WIN:WIN!!
Thank you for visiting today - I always appreciate the time it has taken you to come and leave a comment - I read each one and you know I love to see you! God bless you!

LOC Thinking of You

I just love my Spellbinders Dies - there is such a variety and we all know how much they add to our cards....what did we do before this addiction.....LOL!

I especially love these Spellbinders Nested Tea Cups illustrated by Laura Kirste Campbell

I have cut them out using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur, I love the crisp cut it gives and the deep embossing.

I used the Dies as a mask for sponging with Distressing Ink once they had been cut out...it is always such an effective technique.  The Bee is from the Honeysweet clear art stamp set and has been cut out with the wings popped up on foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Layers of Color Sentimental Banners clear art stamp set and cut out with the co-ordinating Spellbinders Ribbon Banners Die.

The saucer is from the Spellbinders Floral Doily Accent Die and is partially stamped with the Honeysweet clear art stamp set - the same one the bee comes from.

This card is for the following challenges:
One Stitch At A Time - Anything Goes
The Crafty Pad - The Letter "B" (bee)
Crafty Emma - Lots of Layers
Hiding in my Craft Room - Super Scraps Saturday - use up those scraps

Now for a little 'insider information' LOL!  As you may have read by now, Layers of Color is no longer manufacturing their stamps or selling them online.  The owner and artist, Laura Kirste Campbell is now a full-time product designer for major craft industry companies.  You can find out the details here.  But, despite this bitter sweet transition, more new and unique Layers of Color style stamp designs designed by Laura will soon be available worldwide this Spring!  A more detailed announcement is coming soon...and I cannot wait!!

Cute! Cute! Cute!

With New Zealand as my homeland, how could I resist this darling little hedgehog by Penny Black, especially when I won this set over a year ago in Pauline C's gorgeous Blog Candy.

After a very 'full on' week I decided to do some colouring as therapy.... using Stampin' Up Chalks/Pastels and a Blender Pen

Spellbinders Classic Circles LG and Lacey Circle Dies have been but with my Grand Calibur (love that Die Cutting Machine)

The sentiment is from a Clear Stamp set picked up at BigW and has been but using the Spellbinders  Grommet Tags Die.

Tag You're It

I have been making a few quick cards over the past weeks and they don't get much quicker than this

The typewriter is on a tag already (see, I did say easy) and I added the tag to some DP after distressing around the edges

Adding a sentiment from the Sent With Love set illustrated by NinaB Designs for The Crafts Meow.

I cut the word TAG from the topper on the packet of tags (there are ten in a pack) and added it along with a recycled button

Finishing off with some vintage lace and black gems.  I am happy that even with lace the cards keep it's masculine feel

Scripted Love

I am here with a quick post tonight, yes it is Tuesday night here for me.  Our teenagers started a new school year and  all three are at new schools - it is going to take us a few days to get some sort of routine happening as right now we have NONE! LOL

I am sharing with you a card I made recently at a Stampin' Up! Workshop hosted by my friend Chriss and run my SU Demonstrator and friend Ann...I always love to go to anything that involves Ann - she is so inspiring.

We used a number of techniques, ones that I love using and created an Easel Card - one of my favourite style cards - they always have that instant WOW factor for me!

We used one of the punches as a Photo Corner - I love the vintage look it took on...

I could not help myself and some of the ladies know that I just had to add lace, pearls, flowers and of course some gorgeous ribbon....and you know I had to sneak in some gorgeous embossing in the background.

SSIC Sharing the Love

It is lovely to see you today, it is Sunday here in Australia and time for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge.  Our hostess this week is everybody friend MariLynn De Groot, who has chosen:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

MariLynn's challenge to us for this week is to make a card/project that is related to love. It could be a heart, the word "love" or just something that you love using on your projects

There are so many ways we can tackle this challenge - for me I had not use the Layers of Color images I love, this darling Cherub from the Angelic clear art stamp set being among the sweetest.  The background DP is recycled (and I LOVE that) from a Prima packet - too good to throw away - I am sure you would agree with me on that!

Seam Binding and Mulberry Roses - LOVE those too

Vintage Lace and a sentiment from the Layer of Color The Love Chapter clear art stamp set - one easy card.  My second card is totally different but still full of the things I love....

The gorgeous Spellbinders Decorative Dress Form Dies, illustrated by both Laura Kirste Campbell and Nina Brackett.  My Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur.

The layers, tags and other Dies have all come from a pile of supplies on my desk, some leftovers and others recycled...some added pearls and a gorgeous lace flower...

along with images from the Layers of Color Touch of Elegance and The Love Chapter clear art stamp sets - along with a Border from the Spellbinders Classic Scallop Die.

These cards are for the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - February Anything Goes
Di's Digis Designs - Valentines
Hiding in my Craft Room - Colour use Pink, Red and White (card 1)
My Sheri Crafts - Love is in the Air
One Stop Craft - For the One I Love
Our Creative Corner -  Love is in the Air
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle - Die Cut or Punches (card 2)
Sweet Stampin - The one I love
Crafty Ann's - Love is in the Air
Delicious Doodles –  All Loved Up
Mami Doodles - For a Loved One (card 1)

Thank you to this week sponsor Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
