SSIC LOC Little One

Today's Stampin' Sisters in Christ is hosted by the lovely Chris Olsen (aka Glowbug)  I have the  privilege of being on a couple of Design Teams with Chris - she is on so many, I can't keep up with her!! LOL!  Chris has chosen this beautiful scripture from the book of Psalms:

'For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am  fearfully and wonderfully made: I know that full well.' Psalm 139:13

Chris has challenged us to create a card or project that is knit together (stitched- faux or real) - straight away I knew I would be making a Baby Card and what better image to use than this adorable 'Flower Child' set from Layers of Color- this scripture always makes me think of babies and the total wonder of them all, how beautifully God knitted us together, every fibre of our being - He is 'quite the Craftsman' and was not limited in any way or form!

I cannot hear this scripture without remembering the time that God gave to to me so clearly, I was lying in a  hospsital bed in the process of miscarring our first child, a boy, Tyler Aaron. Our hearts were crying out to God asking Him to save this precious baby and I felt a real calm come over me and this scripture came clearly to me.  It goes onto say that He knows the number of our days - I knew that God's hand was on us - no matter what the outcome.

Sadly, our son never saw this world, but was taken straight to his Heavenly home, we were devastated but also had the most amazing peace, it truly did pass understanding, it did not lessen our grief but certainly took away the sting and helped us work our way through the process.  I am so comforted in the knowing that you cannot lose someone when you know where they are - we know that Tyler in is Heaven and we will see Him again - although I never got to hold this precious little boy or tell him audibly that I loved him - he knew he was loved from the minute he was conceived.

As painful as this has been in our lives and a loss felt at such a deep level, I am grateful that God has indeed used this to shape our lives - I so look forward to seeing him in Heaven - it was quite a process letting him go from being 'my child' to a 'child of God!'  That is another story for another day!!

Now on a happier note - I made this card to send to a dear cyber friend whose granddaughter arrived yesterday 1 May at 5:20am (New Zealand time) - congratulations Maxine (aka Kiwime) we have been following the process through our Layers of Color SNR Group and are so excited for you and your daughter's family!!  What an honour to be 'Cyber Aunties!!' Maxine, I made this card with you in mind my friend, Grandmother's are such special people and your DGD is one blessed girl!  It will be winging it's way across the Pacific Ocean to you!!  God bless you sister!

We can't wait to see all of  STITCHING/FAUX STITCHING creations! You may enter as many times as you'd like!** Please link us to your actual card/project post(s), not just to your blog or gallery, by 11:59 pm PDT (GMT -8) on Saturday, May 8th
