Sunday comes quickly - for us it is the last Sunday of the school holidays - so you can imagine my teenagers are not wanting it to end! LOL!
Of course Sunday means it is time for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge and this week it is brought to us by MariLynn.
Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Matthew 11: 28–30
Miesje's challenge is all about sharing: use 2 of everything you use. ie: 2 Dp - 2 flowers - 2 stamps - whatever you use must be doubled.
I have taken a liberty with this challenge (sori Miesje - LOL!) I have created a card doing as the challenge says but have not used two of the same image but two images instead - I am hoping this is okay - I don't want to break the RULZ! LOL!
I have use two DP's from Pink Paislee and have two loops on my bows and added too many pearls - LOL - you have to give me points for trying! Oh and my lace is double edged - and I am sure that counts!!
The images are from the Layers of Color Christmas Verses and Royal Birds art stamp sets, the Nestibilitie is Spellbinders Lattice Frames and has been cut with the Grand Calibur - and just to do it right I ran it through twice! LOL!

What a comforting scripture - burdens are cumbersome and can be overwhelming - it is easy to give up the BIG ones, those that are so obvious....why then it is we seem to hold onto the smaller ones, that seem to trouble us only a little at first? The weight of them can slowly build until unknowingly we become trapped under the weight of it. It is then we wonder what is wrong - why are feeling like we have the weight of the world on our shoulders!?
It is pointless to try and battle on, when Jesus clearly says we must FIRST come to Him and then take on HIS yoke - for it is easy and His burden light - it makes we wonder why it takes me so long to some to this place at times - thankfully it is a daily walk and His mercies are new every morning!!

ReplyDeleteWow, what a clever way to incorporate the challenge into your creation. Thanks for sharing on the Meljen's Design Challenge.
ReplyDeleteSuch a true statement Linda, why do we hang onto our little burdens? They're the same thing as a large one, a 'burden' and we cannot carry them alone, or shouldn't. I am so glad you chose that particular sentiment, 'joy,' because the knowledge that Jesus shares and carries our burdens for us can bring joy to the heart.
ReplyDeleteOoh this is beautiful and fab use of the ribbon and lace.Thankyou for joining us at Crafty Ribbons.
