Operation Julie's Smile Blog Hop

“I am so glad that you joined us on this amazing blog hop for Operation Julie’s Smile.  If you came here from Keri Lee Sereika's blog, then you are in the right spot.  If not, you may want to start from the beginning at the Sweet Stamp Shop’s blog and take your time.   You have ALL WEEKEND to hop with us and win prizes!”   starting on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7th AT 8:00am EST and runs through to Sunday, OCTOBER 9th AT 11:59pm EST
As you may have gathered by now this Blog Hop is HUGE and if by some chance there is a break somewhere in the chain, a complete list of blogs on the hop is posted on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog, along with a list of all of the sponsors - we have over $2500 donated in prizes by the very generous companies.

Prizes will be drawn for the following:
1.      from Blog Comments left
2.      from PayPal Donation list
3.      for Blog Hop Hosts

“The creative blogging community is coming together this weekend to help one of our friends, Julie Ranae.  You may know her as the Design Team Coordinator for many wonderful companies from bakers twine, die cuts, rubber stamps and more.  What many people don’t know about Julie Ranae is that she has had some pretty major dental surgeries in her lifetime due to medication she had to take as a child.  It was in her plans to think about having all of her teeth  replaced at some point in the next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out.  But then it happened…she chipped her front teeth on a weekend a month ago. The dentist told her there was no way to save them and that it was his recommendation that she give in and have them all her teeth removed soon, but for that day, they needed to get her front teeth done so her gums could begin to heal. He said he would 'work out payments with her to have ALL this work done...but when she called to make her appt for the first step of impressions, they told her the amount of money that was needed and that the 'payments' applied only to the two teeth that were extracted that day. Her husband Paul was with her and that too, was his understanding as well. So this is how she has found herself in this situation…Needing at least $4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.
Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet Stamp Shop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation and before Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight!
Because she is an event organizer by trade, she has taken on the job of organizing all of the blogs in this hop as her way of ‘working overtime’ for what she needs, the same as if she were able to work overtime at an outside job to pay for the work to be done.
It is the goal of all of these generous friends and sponsors to help make this situation more do-able for our friend so that she can share a brand new smile with all of us soon.
If there is anything you can do to help with a financial donation, there is a donation button at the top of the sidebar ready for you to click.  Any amount is appreciated and ALL DONATIONS will be eligible for prizes from our sponsor pool of over $2500.”
Today I am sending hugs and prayers Julie's way - what better way to do it than with the fabulous sentiment from the Layers of Color Encouragement art stamp set.
It is framed in the Floral Frame cling art stamp.

That much have touch of  shimmer has been added with SU Dazzling Diamonds and the image has been cut with the Spellbinders Labels Sixteen Nestibililtie, using the Grand Calibur

“I hope you enjoyed your stop here on the hop!  The next stop is Jessica Griffin’s blog.  Make sure you leave a comment here before you go so that you can have a chance at the amazing prizes up for grabs and if you can, please make a donation so we can help bring back a new smile for our friend”

LOC Welcome Little One

I have something cute to show you today - this adorable little elephant from the Layers of Color Polka Dot Parade art stamp set - isn't he adorable!?

This time he is welcoming a little one - yes, a girl.  I created this card for my dear friend Ann - who became a Grandmother for the second time - congratulations Ann and family!  One thing I am sure of, this little girl is going to be spoilt, but not ruined!  LOL!

The image is stamped onto white card using Tsukineko Versafine, coloured with SU Chalks and cute out with the Spellbinders Classic Oval sLG Nestibilitie using the Grand Calibur.  It is layered into the Beaded Ovals.

I have used the Nestibilitie as a mask and sponged using Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distressing Ink.  Texture has been added to the polka dots with 3D Kindy Glitz.

The sentiment is from the Sentimental Banners art stamp set - I love the way it coordinates with the Spellbinders Ribbon Banners Die - makes it so easy!

and of course the flowers - a must on a card welcoming a Princess!

LOC Angelic Tag

Good morning, well to those in the Southern Hemisphere it is morning and we have just gone onto Daylight Savings time - so I am up early...

and am making the most of the quiet - I have a house full of sick teenagers who seem to have been that way 4EVA - arghhh!

I am loving making tags lately and this one is a favourite using one of the new release sets from Layers of Color - Angelic art stamp set - illustrated by Nina Brackett - isn't it divine - those darling angels just win me every time!

I have coloured the angels with SU Chalks and added some Kindy Glitz to the wings - for that 'must have' shimmer! LOL!

The Vintage Medallion art stencil has been sponged with Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain Distressing Inks

A few other images added from the Christmas Blessings art stamp set

A border added from the Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents, again illustrated by Nina Brackett - she is one talented lady!!  This border has been cut using the Grand Calibiur

and finishing off with a sentiment from the Angelic art stamp set - it is as easy as that!  I do love this set and about to start a run of cards with it - how can I resist! LOL!

SSIC LOC Fruitful

Sunday comes around so quickly - the weeks just seem to fly by. Sunday brings with it the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge - and this week it is hosted by one of the co-founders, the wonderful Kris.
This week Kris has chosen the scripture:
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."  Gal. 5:22-23a

Kris has set us the challenge to include FRUIT in your creation (stamp, digi, paper, charms, etc.). **By definition, a pumpkin is a fruit, and so are other "Harvest" produce :)

Fancy Finery

It is World Card Making Day today and that is all the excuse I need - LOL! Cleaning my desk is always the intention but hardly ever the completed deed - I start with great determination, but it does not take long to find something that inspires me and I am off creating....

like this divine digi from The Graphic Fairy

It has been sitting on my desk for months (and months and months and months....) and has been layered onto a Spellbinders Classic Oval LG using my Grand Calibur

Some delish DP, a lavish lace bow along with divine bling and this card is complete

and there you have it - how nice it is to see one UFO (unfinished object) completed and into the next one - I will be back with more to show you today - I am on a mission.....LOL!

This card is for the following challenges:

My house looks like a Hospital Ward today - my three teenagers have come down with a NASTY Flu and high temperatures, after spending three days in bed I have moved them out into the loungeroon for a movie day - each one rugged up with the quilt and tissues - the coughing is continuous, but hopefully today they will turn a corner - as for me, I feel it is my duty to stay near them - so I have set up with my crafting supplies on the dining room table, far enough away to be in the ''firing line"!  I do have to add, I am not totally SLACK, it is only 9am and I have changed all of their beds with the frist load of washing on, so they are nice and fresh, done the b'fast run - for those who are feeling like it, medicated them all, got drinks and organised the inhalers and vapourisers...and did I mention that my DH is coming down with it too.....an interesting day here! LOL!

Thank you for stopping by - it is lovely to see you - I am sure you won't catch anything  LOL!  I hope you have a great weekend and manage to join in with World Card Making Day at some level!  God bless you!
