In Sympathy

Hello Blog Friends, it is nice to be back sharing a card with you - I think I am finally getting control of my new laptop - I am not I-T savvy but am pleased that I have managed to work a few things out myself, along with creating some new watermarks - and this is one of them - it was fun working out all of the details - what do you think!?!

I have also managed a little time in The Studio and created this Sympathy card.  It is not always easy to create this kind of card, so I like to do them before I need one and want it to be pretty and make the recipient smile - if that is at all possible!

I have stamped the Stampers Anonymous image onto the Fleur de Elegance Spellbinders® Nestabilities® Decorative Accents using Imagine Crafts ‘featuring’ Tsukineko VersaMagic Multi-surface chalk ink in Aegean Blue.  The Die has also been used as a stencil, sponging around the inside edges, and the filigree edge using Aegean Blue and a Sponge Dauber.

The beautiful Mulberry Roses are from my stash and the divine pearl swirl is from Want2Scrap.  The sentiment is from SRM Stickers.  I have used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty Foam Tape and E-Z Adhesive Runner.

This card is linked to the following challenges:

Spellbinders Precious Memories Tutorial

Hello Blog Friends - I hope you are having a good week - it is time for me to share a Spellbinders Tutorial - I have created a card that is very personal to me - it is for a very dear friend who has lost a family member way too early.  I wanted it to be a little different from the normal card for a time like this, to have a sense of celebrating a life rather than a sombre Sympathy card, but still being respectful

I was inspired by an insert from a photo frame which was too pretty to throw away and has worked perfectly to create a frame and made the 'recycler' in me very happy - check it out!!

Spellbinders Supplies:
Preferred Partners:
Other: Image, Narrow Tulle, button; recycled photo frame insert

Instructions:

1. Cut card base to measure 12cm x 17cm
2. Cut/emboss one (1) Detailed Scallops #4 (#1 being the smallest) using white cardstock
3. Adhere Detailed Scallops later to the card base using double sided tape
4. Position A2 Matting Basics B #1 #5  (#1 being the smallest) to create a frame as shown above
5. Secure using masking tape to ensure the Dies do not move
6. Cut/emboss using the Grand Calibur Die Cutting and Embossing Machine
7. Adhere to the layered card base using Foam Tape for dimension

8. Fussy cut/hand cut the coloured image using scissors
9. Pop the image into the center of the frame using Crafty Foam Tape
10 Adhere the sentiment across the frame using foam tape in the center and double sided tape at each end
11 Adhere thin double bow using liquid glue
12. Attach a small button to the center of the bow
13 Attach Baby Bling around the scalloped edge as shown in the main photo.

I hope you are inspired to 'think out of the box' when it comes to materials and I have shown you, even in some small way how versatile the Spellbinders Dies are.

Thank you for your comments and all of the support you give me - you make blogging such an amazing place to be!! Your encouragement is such a blessing for me - it makes my day! God bless you!

ODBD Fear Not - Sympathy Card

Today I am sharing a card that is very personal to me - recently the world lost a wonderful man, gone too soon and leaving a beautiful wife and family behind, This man and his family hold a very special place in our lives on so many levels.  This card is for his wife and family.

I have used one of the Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection sentiments and has been stamped using Imagine Crafts 'featuring' Tsukineko: Memento in Tuxedo Black. The message is one I have on my hearts for them - it is not the usual Sympathy sentiment but it is Scripture and so comforting - my prayer is that it will encourage them and they will feel the love we are sending to them.

The Crown and Wreath have been created using the Royal Medallions Spellbinders® “A Gilded Life” studio by Debbie Murray and Shea Fragoso.  The dies have been cut using the Spellbinders® Grand Calibur® Die Cutting and Embossing Machine and Silver from the Foil Pack One .

Scrapbook by Adhesives by 3L E-Z Adhesive Runner and Crafty Foam Tape have been used on this card.  Some of the fabulous Want2Scrap Bling

LOC Deepest Sympathies

I am happy to say I did not need to make this card - but had the sentiment and the images laying in my pile of UFO's on my desk - I am also happy to say I have finished 4 more - sure and steady wins the race!  LOL!

I also was 'itching' to play with my new Spellbinders Labels 20 - what a gorgeous shape!!  Out came the Grand Calibur - well, it doesn't actually have to come out as it is used everyday and sits ins a place of honour on a desk!

I used the Layers of Color Backyard Birds art stamp set, I have lots of these images stamped and ready to colour - this one was a step ahead of the others - it was already cut out!

I coloured it with SU Chalks, using a Blender Pen and lightly added the 3D Kindy Glitz - as you may know - this is my new 'toy' and I love the way it is texture and has a softer look.  This is added to the sentiment from the Sent With Love art stamp set and added to the Classic Oval Nestibilitie.  I have embossed this with the Tim Holtz embossing Folder ( another new favourite!!)

I have finished off with some crinkled Seam Binding and a silk flower that I found in my sewing basket - I have not been a fan of silk flowers - don't get me wrong, I love them on your work...but they just didn't work for me - BUT the 'jury is still out' on that one, as I really like the look of this one and have tried to capture the shimmer for you to see.

This card is for the following challenges:
