SSIC LOC Treasure

It is my pleasure to be hosting this weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge

It is an honour and a pleasure to be hosting this weeks challenge - Stampin' Sisters in Christ is such a blessing to me - I know you love it too!  For us on the Design Team, it is more than a challenge but is a lifestyle, a place where we can share our passion for the Lord with our passion for paper  What can be better than this?  One thing - having you join us.

We are extremely grateful for each of you who have joined us in this journey - we have linked arms and are walking together - supporting one another and  enjoying the journey.  When we come across those things in life that cause us to stop in our tracks and sometimes causes us to waver - it is a wonderful thing to know that we are 'linked and there are those around us and supporting us - it makes things that much easier!!

This week I have chosen the scripture from Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

I have set the challenge to use something you treasure on your card - whether it be bling, flowers, something new or have been saving for a long time - show us your treasures!

Treasures come in many forms and as soon as we hear the word we all picture something different!  Yes, there are definitely beautiful treasures here on earth - Marilyn Munroe's song 'Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend' certainly became an anthem for many women - and yes, we all love the BLING!

m

But as many of us know only too well, the things we treasure are not measured by carats, dollar value or any other monetary measure!  Those things we treasure are the things that are etched deeply into our hearts. those things that have a value that cannot be defined in dollars and no amount of insurance can replace them should something happen to them

A number of years ago when there were the horrendous bush fires in Canberra, we were put on alert , the fires were in our suburb - we are not just talking a little blaze but a 35 kilometre wall of fire that was RAGING - in fact it became known worldwide a s a firestorm,

As we looked around and wondered what we should take, it became very clear the things that were a priority for us, the things that were treasures and were irreplaceable!  My DH and I decided that nothing was that important that it was worth risking the lives of our children or each other and we would flee with nothing if need be - no heroic acts of trying to save items.  But we did have time and it was interesting to see what each one gathered.

Although these things hold sentimental value and would be devastating to lose - they are not the kind of 'treasures' that count - this leads me to ask - where does your ;treasure lie?  The treasure that we are talking about are those things that would capture your heart, those things that you walk up thinking about and go to sleep dreaming about.  The things that motivate you and inspire you - these are the things that determine where your heart is!   I pray that for each of us these things would have eternal value - I am by no means saying that we should not love things while we are here - I am a sentimentalist and hold many things near and dear - but when it comes down to it, the things that I treasure cannot be brought or sold - they are a matter of the heart and the Kingdom!  These are the treasures that  lead us to God and not away form Him!

For this project it was only fitting that I used the Layers of Color Granny's Jewelry art stamp set - I have combined it with the Delicious Dots art stencil.

This card is for the following challenges:
