LOC Wings and Lace

I hope you are having a great day or evening for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere - it is actually heading towards midnight here but I wanted to get this card posted before I call it a night!

Don't you LOVE this gorgeous new Embroidered Butterfly from Layers of Color - it is one of the new release cling art stamps and is just divine!  I love the new red rubber from Layers of Color - is is so deeply etched and you get such a great image each time.

I coloured the wings with Distressing Ink and then added Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in pink - hard to believe isn't it but I am telling you the truth -  the wings are propped up onto card stock that has been embossed with the Perfect Paisley Embossing Folder.

I have finished it of with a length of vintage lace and the fabulous Vintage Corners by Cuttlebug.

This card is for the following cchallenges:

For the Girls

How could I resist combining these two sketches this week....the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge which is all in pink for the great cause of Breast Cancer Awareness and Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge for this week....amazingly enough both of these sketches are hosted by the lovely Silke Ledlow - and don't we just love Silke!!  Silke has become such a dear crafting friend to so many of us and is always encouraging in her comments and totally inspiring with her work - congratulations Silke on hosting both of these challenges this week - I have had so much fun combining them!

It is also for the Crafty Creations Challenge this week, the theme being 'All Shades of Pale." and the Pile it On Challenge where it is all Three Dimensional!

I have used this gorgeous set from Crafty Secrets, it was the first Blog Candy that I won, from none other than Judy (Joy in a Jar) I love this set and am so happy to have a chance to ink it up!  I have stuck to the pink theme with just the tinest bit of sponging (I couldn't help myself - I am a self confessed sponging addict! LOL!)

The embossed layer is done with the paisley embossing folder (thank you Hannah aka bubblefrog!) and has been distressed and sponged with distressing ink.  The circular DP is from some DP I won from Steph - who is always giving away 'stash!' I cut the pink ribbon out and used 3D foam tape to 'pop it up' All of the edges have been sponged (of course)

Both the image and the sentiment sqaure have been layered onto pink CS and popped up on foam dots then adhere to white embossed CS which has been distressed and sponged.  The word 'HOPE' has been stamped a second time and cut out, raised up on the foam dots and coloured with pink, to empasise the word HOPE!  I have changed one thing - the pearls are at the oppposite end of the image than in the sketch - just ran out of room!!

Thank you for looking and for your very kind comments.  It is always moving for me to make a card with this Cause in mind - our lives have all been 'touched' in one way or another by knowing someone close who has been touched by this disease!!  Public Awareness is a HUGE step forward!!  God bless you!

High Society

More MIDNIGHT MADNESS for me!!! I just love their Sketch Challenges....this one is no exception. If you haven't checked it out yet - you can find it here. This is my third and final card for this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge....I thought I would try something different and not use any stamps - just rely on this fabulous DP that I was given by my friend Melinda80!
My aim was to give depth and texture to the feel of the card. I sponged around the edges of the DP and layered in on black...I had added strips of Paisley Embossing behind the image, sponging them both - the blue with white over all of the embossing, the pink with green around the edges. A scalloped border was added, the edges lightly sponged and had bling added. The scrolls at the top and bottom are a Cuttlebug Die which I was sent for my birthday from one of my Twistered Sisters - Pat Smethers.

There you have it...a fairly simple card, but I really like the different textures...and that DP...it was enough on it's own!! I love trying different things. .. .They say that with every new thing you learn, you regenerate brain celss - so looking at it that way - stamping is god for your health!!! LOL!! Way to go!!
Thanks you for stopping by - you always make my day, especially when you leave a comment for me! God bless you!
